Good location, but the hostel is gloomy/not of first-hand cleanliness, and has policies that are inconvenient (room price is paid in cash, and no guests are allowed in the hostel, including during the day and in common areas)

I really loved my stay at pirate Backpackers. Nuno is a great host. It’s very calm and quiet, so you feel like you’re at home.

Nuno is a warm hearted person who makes you feel comfortable the second you arrive at this hostel. I couldn‘t have asked for a better place to start my travels, thank you!!

Loved this hostel! Very home vibes, small and so cosy. Dont expect the classic shower cubes and toilets, its more of like a bathroom/shower you would have in an apartment. Owner was SO NICE, stay here for a night if you have the chance

I had really really positive experience here. The space is crafted and maintained with love and intention, and Nuno was absolutely generous with the way he welcomed us into it. I loved this hostel, and would recommend it to any traveller who is eager to experience Faro in a unique and locally grounded way. Nuno is a great host, super easy to keep in contact with. The guesthouse is in a great location in town, has lovely design touches, and most importantly for me, he keeps the standards of cleanliness extremely high. I felt as safe and comfortable as if I were at home.

The room, the facilities, the helpfulness and kindness of the host - all are five stars. This is one of the friendliest, safest and coziest places I have ever rented. The kitchen is well-equipped, the rules are clear and easy to follow and they serve everybody’s well being. The host is a super cool guy, he speaks amazing English and very much devoted. He sees and understands what’s guests need and sees to everything. He has a great empathy. The room is comfortable, and had everything I need...

This hostel is truly beautiful, it's clean, fresh, and very comfortable. It’s small and quiet, which gives it a peaceful atmosphere and a strong sense of safety. The owner is incredibly kind and friendly. When we found out that our train was full, he generously let us return to our room until the next guests arrived and then stay in the lounge until it was time for our new train. It was such a thoughtful gesture, especially on a hot, sunny day. Highly recommended!

It was a great stay! It’s a lovely hostel for only a few people and that makes you feel very welcomed and safe. Nuno is a lovely host - very welcoming. The kitchen is the best I’ve seen in a hostel so far!

If you like comfy, small and familiar Hostels, that‘s the right place to stay! Nuno is a really great and warm host. Really liked my stay there.

Very chill and sweet place to stay in with great personalities and kindness of owners. Definitely recommend if you like the comfortable and homey stay.

The place is clean, welcoming and cozy. The host is really nice, available for everything and polite. You feel like home. I loved staying there

Incredible hostel ! I had such a nice stay. The hostel is great and clean, my dorm was quite big with a private bathroom and air conditioning !! The kitchen is very well equiped and easy to use. There is also have a great common area and a sunny terrace. The hostel has a great locations too. But the best is the host, Nuno is really kind and ready to help whenever you need (he also has good recs). I can only highly recommend this place to anyone.

The private room was perfect. Door had a lock. Bathrooms were big. Also, having a washing machine is a big bonus. Very kind staff. Would stay again.
