Bruh, this hostel is a whole mood. The walls are covered in trippy murals, there's always someone strumming a guitar badly in the corner, and somehow it all just works. Stayed in a 6 bed dorm and ended up adopting the whole room as my temporary family. The staff don't even feel like staff they're just your new Indonesian besties who happen to know where the best bakso is. If you're a solo traveller looking for company without the crazy party hostel chaos, this is your spot. Miss it already.
Staying in this beautifully in the heart of the town was a unique experience, with high ceilings and original tiles that give it so much soul. The free afternoon tea with traditional cakes was a touching local gesture. However, the beautiful old windows that let in so much character also let in the sound from the street market below. Some simple rubber sealing strips on the window frames would make a world of difference to dampen the noise without ruining the classic aesthetic.
Quiet hostel in a residential area, perfect if you want good sleep before Bromo. AC works well, lockers are big enough for 70L backpack. The owner helped book a private jeep at a fair rate. One thing to improve: more hooks or shelves in the dorm would be nice. Still, 100% recommend for budget travelers
Way better than I expected for the price. The building has high ceilings and old tiles so much character. Dorm was empty when I stayed but even full it's spacious. Location near the train station but also walking distance to some cool cafes. Staff printed my train tickets for free. They have Netflix in the lounge but honestly the street food outside is too good to stay inside.
I worked remotely for four days here. The co-working space has fast fibre internet and many power outlets. Chairs are proper office chairs, not wooden benches. The cafe downstairs sells good espresso. Dorms are separated from work area so noise wasn’t an issue. Privacy curtains on every bunk. They have lockers that fit a 15-inch laptop. Staff speak good English and helped me extend my stay easily. One of the most work-friendly hostels I’ve used in Indonesia.
I stayed at a cozy hostel in Malang that felt more like a friend’s home than a budget stay. The staff were genuinely warm, always ready with local tips and a smile. The common area had a relaxed vibe, perfect for meeting fellow travelers or just unwinding after exploring the city. Rooms were simple but clean, with comfortable beds and good air circulation. Its location made it easy to reach cafes and attractions. Overall, it’s a charming spot that balances affordability with authentic hospit...
The hostel has a beautiful traditional Javanese design with modern facilities. Beds were super comfy with thick mattresses and individual power sockets. Staff arranged my Bromo tour seamlessly. Free coffee and tea all day. The atmosphere was chill and social but not noisy. Lockers were large and secure. Great value for money. Without a doubt the best hostel I've found in East Java. Highly recommended for solo backpackers
I stayed here for two nights during my trip to East Java and it was exactly what I needed. The location is fantastic, right in the center so you can easily walk to a lot of cool cafes and the local market. It’s tucked away in a quiet alley so you don’t really hear the street noise at night, which is a huge plus. The common area is really cozy with a lot of beanbags, making it super easy to meet other travelers. The dorm beds are comfortable and each one has a personal reading light, a power...
The hostel in Malang had a creative charm, with colorful murals and cozy corners. It felt artistic and inspiring, unlike any other place I had stayed. The staff were welcoming and offered great tips for exploring Malang’s temples and waterfalls. Their local knowledge was invaluable and made my trip much richer. The atmosphere was lively, and I met many fellow travelers in the common lounge. It felt like a community rather than just a place to sleep.
This hostel was such a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I met so many interesting travelers during my stay. The common area was lively but never too noisy. The staff gave me excellent tips on where to eat and what to see in Malang. Their local knowledge made my trip much more enjoyable.
I had a wonderful stay at this hostel! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with any questions. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere made it easy to meet fellow travelers. I especially appreciated the convenient location, which made exploring the city simple and enjoyable. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a cozy and affordable place to stay
I absolutely loved my stay at Terima Kasih!! The location is tucked away in the cutest neighborhood so there’s a very authentic, local feeling without being far from the center. The facilities are clean, homey, well decorated, and curtains and a towel are provided. Something that really stood out is how friendly and communicative the staff are! They were full of smiles and good energy. I did the day city tour in Malang and Emma and Tio were 11/10 fantastic guides!! I cannot recommend them enou...
Our group of six had a blast here. The private dorms are spacious enough for all our gear, and the rooftop bar provided the perfect backdrop for our evening hangouts. A solid 10/10
Incredible, staff, beds, kitchen everything great. Comfy beds, free tea and coffee, hot showers. Couldn’t recommend more
Very nice staff!
+ Personeel is erg aardig.
