Dahab Hostel

I stupidly bought a trip off these people who never even bothered to give me an itinerary despite so many times for it. They told me it was to start in Luxor but it started in Aswan. Then when I called from Luxor they wouldn’t even answer the phone until I got some random local to call with his phone. Then the hot air balloon was cancelled and they tried to say it was free. Ofcourse it wasn’t but this was a stupid way to try snd not reimburse me. Avoid this hostel !! The owner will laugh at ...

the receptionist with green eyes is sweet, but all the other staff are so rude I left and stayed elsewhere and staff were nicer. Dahab is clean, but I couldn't stand the bad vibes from the staff. I would rate them zero if I could, but I gave 5 stars for the cleanliness and location. Management needs to speak to the staff about rudeness.

The place looks great and the personell is really friendly. The rooms are a bit small, but there is one big problem. There is no ventilation in the rooms, only a small window. No AC. The room that has been in the egytian sun was about 50 degrees celcius. We fled the hostel the next morning to find something else.

La calificación es básicamente, porqué en la página de hostel world el hostal se presenta con aire acondicionado en sus habitaciones, y no hay aire acondicionado lo que hizo insoportable la dormida en dos noches que pase, pregunte por esto y debía pagar 500 libras egipcias alrededor de 17 dólares adicionales, si quería una habitación con aire acondicionado, cosa que no se expresa en su descripción. One employee frequently asks inappropriate questions. Although he maybe joking, I’ve expressed clear disinterest from first encounter. In addition, Rooms were very hot and without AC nor curtains. I couldn’t sleep and i had to change hostel. Nevertheless, Many guests smoke even in reception area. I don't like the place. A lot of cats, you can take your breakfast with cats everywhere, the laundry service was good, the wifi wasn't good, i found a cat poop near to restrooms

The place is ok. The only Problem is the elevador. The hostel is in a floor 7th of an old bundling and the elevador is quite unsafe and old. It feels like it will fall down

Breakfast takes at least 45 min to make a 5 min meal so plan accordingly. Since it’s a rooftop and they don’t have nets or electric mosquito traps, you will wake up with a dozen each morning. Going elsewhere for when i return to Cairo before my flight out.

Overall nice property. Good vibes, has a working kitchen fully stocked toilets and relatively reliable showers which is quite rare for egypt. View from the rooftop is absolutely gorgeous with the sunset and is relatively quiet and peaceful from the chaos at ground level. Rooms are nice although the aircon ran slightly hot at times. Honestly the best vibes i ever had in a hostel. The place with it’s rooftop is super nice and spacious, so you can choose to unwind after your day or meet fellow travelers. The staff is super chill and will do anything in their power to make sure that you have a good time, wether it’s asking about your day, recommending places and trips, and including you in the hostel group. I highly recommend to staying at this beautiful place extremely clean, peaceful and with the most friendly staff right in the hard of the city; it feels more like home than a hostel. I had an amazing stay at Dahab Hostel—it truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel at home. They’re not just helpful, they genuinely care and go out of their way for you. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful, which is rare in a busy city like Cairo. I especially loved the rooftop—it became my favorite spot to sit, relax, and even get some editing done on my laptop. This place feels human—warm, welcoming, and real. I’d definitely come back.

Everything was amazing besides the flush in the toilets not working properly all the time. Staff, breakfast, location, everything else was amazing.

An excellent Hostel all around located in the very heart of cairo. The Hostel itself is busteling with travellers from all around the world who are looking to explore everything that Cairo and Egypt has to offer. The Personnel are all always there when you need them and are very welcoming of everyone. The atmosphere is very social with daily trips being organized to keep things interesting. The bathrooms were newly renovated and are exquisitely clean. All in all it is THE place to stay in Cairo!

I use Hostelworld for all my hostel accommodation, and Dahab Hostel is certainly one of the best hostels I have stayed. Its location is good, and especially for being easy walking distance from the Go Bus station. The facilities are very good, and kept very clean. The breakfast was awesome! All the staff were excellent, and especially H on reception who also organised some tours around Egypt. I continued to use Dahab Hostel as a base between tours.

Unfortunately had a bad experience, even though I remembered this place very well from 3 years ago. The staff were not nice at all, didn’t help me or pay attention during check in and I had to find everything myself. Kitchen was very dirty and I got a very bad attitude from the lady working there. WiFi didn’t work. Staff hitting on female guests, and otherwise not helpful or friendly.

Truly amazing hostel. The location is super central, the rooftop is beautiful any hour of the day, filled with plants and social areas. Super super welcoming and funny staff who like to engage with us guests. The showers are sooo gooood, all the facilities are! Very clean, good breakfast, broad offers for trips all around. Oh and super comfy big blankets. Wonderfully warm & social atmosphere. Truly one of a kind hostel!

I stayed here twice throughout my trip and each experience was wonderful. I opted for a private room, which was clean and comfortable enough for my stay. The highlights were the facilities, particularly the spacious, beautiful rooftop terrance, perfect for relaxing and socializing after a long day. The staff were also very kind and helpful, especially Ahmed. I would definitely stay here again!

The hostel is very peaceful feels like a sanctuary away from the chaos of the city and the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. I highly recommend staying here when you’re in Cairo.

Great stay in good spot in town. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Even called me an Uber when all the Ubers I tried from the GEM tried to scam me. Their tour to the Citadel, Coptic Cairo and the Mosk was great too (driver only). We skipped a museum and he was willing to take us to the Cave Church of St Simon instead. Would surely recommend this hostel!
