Kind of bad place

This is a party hostel. If you want to relax and sleep well, stay away. Also, very dirty and the owner was not there. For 5-10€/night it might have been worth it, but 30€ is just ridiculous.

The host struggles with feedback and accountability, even in person. If you see reviews about uncleanliness, the defensive replies say it all. A clean environment isn’t too much to ask for. The place was filthy; moldy shower, sewer-smelling drains, old food, and a toilet seat held with duct tape. I myself had to clean just to make it tolerable. I wish I could attach pictures. The location and people were great, but it desperately needs a professional cleaning.

AVOID!! The place is extremely unhygienic – we both got bitten several times by bed bugs during our stay, leaving us covered in itchy bites. The bathroom is disgusting with flies everywhere and a strong smell of mould in the shower. On top of that, there are no ladders for the bunk beds, making it dangerous and difficult to climb up to the top bunks. The hostel is also infested with flies, especially in common areas. If you value cleanliness please don’t stay here 🤢🤢

unhygienic, smelly,no one comes for cleaning. In the kitchen- the stove doesn't work, the dustbin is open, no proper utensils, lots of bugs and someone stole my stuff or mistakenly taken because things are super unorganized. The host is good but he comes just for an hour. so no one looks after anything.

Be careful of bed bugs at this hostel. The general level of cleanliness was not good. The bathrooms were wet and stinking, dirty food all over the kitchen. My bed was not changed as there was dirt and hair at the bottom under the sheets (black hair - my hair is blonde). The pillows were smelly. I woke up in the morning with my legs covered in bites. I have photos of this. The owner was not professional and spent 5 minutes arguing about whether or not I had bites.

I was only here for one night but I’m really glad it was only one night. The atmosphere was there and the people were lovely. But it had no reception which made it really difficult for questions and arrival. The location was up a bit of a hill and quite far. It felt like I was in a big flat with heaps of people. There was clutter everywhere and wasn’t very tidy. The shower head on one of the showers didn’t hang so you had to use your hand, the cooking facilities took ages to heat up. Beds ...

Poor cleanliness and poor space on the 2nd floor bed, uncomfortable

Disappointing stay. The hostel was incredibly dirty, floors, bathrooms, and common areas looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. Everything felt chaotic and unorganized, with people’s belongings scattered everywhere. I would not recommend staying here.

I had a great time at the hostel. It’s small, so quite intimate and met some really cool people there. The host, Josko, was helpful and gave recommendations and offered to take us up to Krka.

Came in early, host was ok with me getting in before check inn time ( key is provided)…nice small place, close to everything. Great value for money. Still early season so it was not full but Split is beautiful so i had great time anyway. Beds are big and comfortable, guesthouse has everything you need, fast wifi is great.. thanx Josko

war ein super aufenthalt. so tolle leute da. ist mehr wie eine wg. die badezimmer sind sehr dreckig. und die hochbetten haben keine leiter. nach ein paar tagen haben wir uns aber dran gewöhnt. es war so toll!!

The hostel is in an excellent location and Josko is an excellent host who has cultivated a very friendly atmosphere in the guesthouse. Perfect for solo travellers looking to connect with others.

THE BEST HOSTEL EXPERIENCE EVER! I’ve stayed at other hostels before but my experience at Split Guesthouse has been amazing. Josko is so welcoming and he always did everything he could to make my sure my stay in split the best possible experience. When I joined the hostel it was like joining a family. Everyone is always ready to have a good time and be social. If you are staying in Split I highly recommend staying here!

If you wanna have a great time in split and be in a prime location this is the place to be. The host will give you an authentic experience and knows a lot about the surrounding area. Everyone is super welcoming and it makes for some super fun times. Great hostel

Seriously best hostel I and you will ever stay in. Unreal location, hilarious and such an accomodating owner that will take you on day trips if you ask and the best possible people. Got such a family vibe but every night there will be people drinking in the common areas, everyone knows everyone. Perfect for solo travellers and small groups and I guarantee you will want to extend your stay. Thank you Joskooo

Josko le geLes + L'emplacement à 10min à pieds de la vieille ville. Josko le gérant est super arrangeant. Les lits sont confortables. Les - * Manque de propreté. Ok les draps et serviettes sont changés... Mais en 2jours, aucun ménage n'a été fait. Et je ne parle pas de l'état quand je suis arrivée. La salle de bain des filles était vraiment salle j'ai préféré aller chez les mecs chez qui c'est un petit peu mieux. Les bidons de douches traînent de partout, la douches est ple...

Almost self-managed place by guests, it can be a little rough on the cleanliness. However the location is nice and there is a cool traveler’s vibe! More a party hostel than a quiet place, but that’s needed sometimes

Its name says it is a “GuestHouse”, cleanliness and order will depend on you and who you share accommodation with, so it’s a bit of luck but do your part. Definitely a completely different experience. If you travel alone, look for a place to make friends and feel like family, this is your place. It feels like home. Thank you for everything, Josko!

I have stayed over 10 hostels on my small trip and this was by far the best in all aspects, very rare and amazing environment in this place and ran amazingly by Josko

Shared and good atmosphere for this quiet hostel near the city center. It was just for one night. And sorry Josko for the keys 😂

My stay was very short, but I got everything I needed. My room was clean and spacious. The host was very detailed, informative and kind. He was extremely accommodating with my unexpected change in travel plans. I unfortunately didn’t have the opportunity to interact with anyone but judging by the laughs and chatter I heard when I arrived, I assumed the atmosphere was inviting and welcoming. I would recommend staying here, even if it’s for a good night sleep :)

It's really a family-like hostel. Josko is so friendly and tells you where to go in Split. Everyone I met was so friendly too, people talked like friends. I enjoyed it there, thank you Josko.
