Botchan Hostel

One of the worst hostels I’ve stayed at. Not clean, weird beds, no privacy and really loud at night! Got a really bad head cold from one night of the air conditioning that was dripping….

there were bedbugs in my bed. i told the reception and they said yea we can change the sheets, but that is not how it works. it needs a proper cleaning, because the bathroom was also smelling like pie. however the atmosphere and people were really nice, but quit sad about the bedbugs i hope they fix it, because otherwise it would be a nice hostel.

Decent enough location and layout but could do with some serious TLC. Privacy curtains and bed lights non existent despite advertised and just a bit dirty. Pool algae filled. Staff nice enough

Would not recommend. Great location, but that’s it. Air con not working properly in room no one could sleep, allocated wrong rooms due to overbooking, rooms not soundproof in the slightest so you can hear call to prayer the entire night very loudly, no keys to lock door, no locker keys either, extremely old and run down rooms and bunk beds.

Botchan was not very clean and when I wanted to check out nobody was there while the reception should be open. I had to come back later and couldn’t pay by card.

It‘s a nice place to meet a lot of people. Unfortunately I have to leave a bad review because of bugs in the bed and this did not seem to be an unknown problem. Also, I went on an advertised tour and ended up paying almost double the quoted price because the costs supposedly included were separate. After that, I was given the understanding to leave early, but I was accused of having brought the bugs with me (I came from home). They also cancelled my entire booking so I couldn‘t write a re...

Basically a Love Island type of hostel. I got sick while staying here and the reception couldn't care less of helping. Plus quite far from center of Kuta

Breakfast was pancakes and they were freshly made, one of the better free.hostel breakfasts I've had. The beds were comfortable and good size. The staff were very friendly. Only thing I can fault is the curtains on the bed were very thin, and the top bunks had none. For the money, the best hostel I stayed at in Kuta out of 3 easily.

I love the hostel because of the social area and the people. The private rooms are very nice! The dorms not so much tbh. I had a bed without a curtain and people drom above could see me entirely. The hygiene in the bathroom is not the best & sometimes the electricity went off and the ac… but!! Still a great hostel! I‘d def come back! :)

Staff was so kind and they let us keep our bags here for a few days while we toured around lombok. I stayed both in a private room and in the dorms. They did not give any hand soap and the bathrooms and pool were a bit dirty, but the free breakfast pancake and coffee is great, and really appreciated the water filter, although it did break one day. Not a super social hostel, most people in groups keeping to themselves

Schone en grote kamers, de sfeer is top. Elke ochtend lekkere pannenkoeken. Het voelde echt als thuis ❤️ ik heb hier bijna 10 dagen doorgebracht

Chill place good breakfast not super social but if you want you can meet people there. The pool ist very good

Super schöner Pool und Anlage, ein paar chill- Möglichkeiten ch keiten im Schatten wären noch cool und die Badezimmer bräuchten mal neue Rohre (öfters ist komplett braunes Wasser raus gekommen, vlt aber auch wegen den starken Regenfällen in den letzten Wochen). Wenn man will auch ziemlich social und günstiger Roller Verleih 🌞 ich würde wieder kommen

Super chill vibes at the hostel and it's located very central. The hostel staff is super friendly and helpful! :-)

It was social without being party, great place to chill. I wish the location was slightly closer to the beach or main strip, but otherwise great! I had a friends meeting me later, so I needed to keep my bags safe and a place to chill if I needed and the staff were super accommodating

My time in Botchan Hostel was amazing. I initially planned to stay for 2 nights, i extended for another two immediately at day 1. The staff is soo friendly and helpful. Even extanding the stay was not even a big issue (but maybe because i went during low season). I booked a private Room and the room, sheets and bathroom all were really clean, no complaint there! There was water in the kitchen 24/7. If you like to surf go to Botchan, nearly all of the hostel guests surf and it is easy to connect

I loved this hostel so much!! Beautiful social area and the people there were so friendly. I would say this is a social hostel, but a lot less intense than others I’ve stayed at. My only problem was the bathroom, not very clean and a lot of them didn’t flush. The breakfast was delish every morning. Loved this place

Heel fijn en schoon zwembad. Vooral mensen die er langer zijn en surfen. Je ontmoet mensen aan de ontbijttafel. Twee dikke pannenkoeken als ontbijt. Niet veel privacy in de 7 persoonskamer (bedden boven geen gordijn) maar brede bedden en liggen heel lekker. Gelegen aan einde van de drukte van de hoofdstraat in Kuta, dus wel juist dichtbij de stranden. Als je geen scooter huurt is het een uur lopen naar een fijn strand, dus dat is zeker aan te raden. Scooters zijn te huur bij het hostel voor 60k.

Ich hatte eine richtig schöne Zeit hier aber mehr wegen der Menschen die man dort kennengelernt hat. Die Betten sind bequem aber könnten mehr Privatsphäre haben durch Vorhänge (die meisten unteren Betten hatten welche jedoch alle oberen nicht). Auch die Bäder hätten sauberer sein können und mit noch einer Ablagefläche ausgestattet werden. Das gratis Frühstück (Bananen Pancake) waren sehr lecker, und wenn man wollte konnte man sich kleine Mahlzeiten selber zubereiten. Polster wären n...

The pool area looks just as amazing as in the pictures, but don’t be fooled — the rest of Botchan Hostel doesn’t match that vibe. The dorms are super basic and feel old-school, far from the modern hostels you find these days. It’s also quite far from the beach and main spots in Kuta. Breakfast is just a banana package, nothing else. Overall, it was okay, but I’d rather stay somewhere with a bit more character — maybe even a place with monkeys around.

The vibe is very nice and the hostel is beautiful The breakfast is great, the pool is great, the location is great (center accessible by walk) The staff is nice and helpful I had the 7 bed dormitory which was very big and nice with a bathroom in the dorm The room was cleaned everyday as the beds I can only recommend !!!

I stayed here for two months, botchan became a home to me and so many others. Such good value for the price. Bathrooms are always clean and beds are remade everyday by the staff. The free banana pancakes every morning are the best. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly all the time. Loveeeee this hostel.

Più che sufficiente per il prezzo e il posto. Un bagno solo per 7 persone e non molto efficiente. Forse siamo nella media indonesiana. Letto comodissimo a una piazza e mezza. Aria condizionata ok.
