The dorms are in a weird basement with no light in the room. There was a cockroach in my bed at night. The bathroom toilet door didn’t lock in several stalls. Bathrooms at night were dirty and didn’t have any paper towels. Breakfast was austere.
On arrival waited 10 mins before we were welcomed, elevator not working, beds in room left up, no towels, the bathroom sensor was so short that you were in the dark whilst in the shower or on the toilet !!! Breakfast fell short of expectations a roll and ham / cheese not really acceptable. Lovely building but with a few adjustments could be so much more.
Lovely little inn! Very charming, pleasant airy rooms, a beautiful bar and terrace, helpful staff, and a great location. Amarante has been an unexpected highlight. We rented bikes up the hill at Amarantrilhos to explore the region a little bit.

Das Hostel ist schön eingerichtet und designt und liegt ideal, um Amarante zu erkunden. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Atmosphäre gleicht eher einem Hotel, ist also eher anonym. Vielleicht kümmern sich einige Gäste auch deswegen nur wenig darum, die Küche sauber zu hinterlassen. Die sanitären Einrichtungen sind schick, könnten für meinen Geschmack aber noch häufiger gereinigt werden.
The hostel is beautifully furnished and designed and is ideally located to explore Amarante. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is more like a hotel, so is more anonymous. Maybe some guests also care little about leaving the kitchen clean. The sanitary facilities are chic, could be cleaned even more often for my taste but.

The hostel is very cute with the garden, the balcony and the bar/restaurant they have. The rooms are as well very beautiful and everything is very clean ! They really give a big effort that your stay is perfect. Would totally recommend this hostel ! 🫶🏽
Des Arts GuestHouse is a hidden gem! Its prime location near Igreja de São Gonçalo and a short walk from the bus station is perfect. The modern, welcoming interior and well-equipped facilities make it stand out. Security might benefit from improvement, but the small top drawer for valuables is handy. The dorms with fold-out beds are comfortable, and during my September visit, I had a 10-bed dorm all to myself, which meant a quieter atmosphere. The fully supplied kitchen and excellent cleanline...
L'auberge est vraiment jolie et mignonne avec son style rétro ancien que j'aime beaucoup ! Cependant la nuit a été vraiment horrible car on entendait deux équipes de foot qui ont fait la fête et du bruit énormément..... Impossible donc d'avoir pu dormir. Les murs sont très fin également. L'équipe est sympa ! Le cadre idyllique.
The hostel is really nice and cute with its old retro style which I like a lot ! however the night was really horrible because we could hear two football teams partying and a lot of noise..... impossible to have slept. the walls are very thin too. the team is nice ! the idyllic setting.
