Jugendherberge Hamburg-Auf dem Stintfang

OBS! Personer under 18 får inte bo i flerbäddsrum det var inte direkt tydligt på hemsidan. Så vi tvingades köpa ett mycket dyrare rum av en sur receptionist som inte ens gav oss handdukar. Att spela bordtennis kostar en hel del. Köket är stängt och ingen klassisk vandrarhems-atmosfär alls. Läget är bra, men det var också det enda.

This is just not a hostel...

All good, location is super, atmosphere is not very good but ok. Many families and many classes. I just gave one star because I hope they read this sine the kitchen is a pitty. What they call a kitchen is just a corner of the laundry room that skive found in the basement, only one working hot plate, only one knife, in short it sucks. They have a cafeteria and they want you to buy their food instead of cooking yourself. Unacceptable.

The staff was pretty nice, but overall I didn't enjoy my stay. I stayed in a mixed dorm- the problem was that other than me there were only local middle aged(or older) man in the room, some of whom appeared to be living there permanently. It was very uncomfortable. Room was also very cramped, and therefore loud. Location was nice, but I think prospective guests should know the hostel sits on top of a hill and is only approcable by hundreds of stairs or an uphill trek from the park.

The location and breakfast both very good. Insects all over the ceiling, curtains and bathroom in the room. No fans or aircon in the room which smelled awful, windows had to be kept open so it was noisy during the night. the guest range is mainly 50+ or families so not ideal for solo travellers. there are no lockers in room unless you pay, no towels unless you pay and make your own bed. the price on HW is not total price as they add €3.5 for YHA membership, €1 city tax. there

Basically was a school hostle very boring in the hostle nothing to do and no socializing with people, only good for a night or two other than that good luck. Good location for going out at night

Its more a hotel then a hostel.

Great location great view. There was a large loaf of poop on a main walkway to get to the city- was fresh when we arrived and was still there when we left. Outside, I should mention. In a forested and woody area, suspicious characters sometimes slept in and around. The laundry room has strange hours. Also electronic locks are provided for lockers. A decent, mildly noisy, and smelly stay. The location and view are great. Also their bar wasn’t open often. Free breakfast is great.

Probably closer to a kindergarten than a youth hostel 😄 joking aside, clean, central, quiet, comfy beds. Suitable for families and solo travellers.

Is ok hostel. Although staff is not very friendly, entrance hard to find, and kitchen not working, is worth for couple of days.

Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr hilfsreich.

Fantastic location. Easy to get to and even better once you know how to avoid the steps (with luggage). The place is huge and even though there were a lot of people staying there, of all she’s, there is plenty of room to hang out. There room for 8 was Peru small and felt crowded. The beds were not particularly comfortable and the room was very warm. Breakfast was included and pretty good. Definitely worth taking advantage of. Free area to store luggage while you visit the town.

Good meals, safe, clean and right on the harbor. Great stay in Hamburg:)

Excellent en tout points. Vue incroyable, personnel à l’écoute de toutes nos demandes même si l’on ne parle pas allemand. Une ambiance familiale mais qui reste festive. Rien à dire à part foncez parce que c’est certainement la meilleure auberge de la ville.

Location is perfect! Harbour view, station is just beneath the hostel, manageable walking distance to the city centre, next to the Elbpark, walking distance to Sternschanze. Breakfast is very good. Room is clean. Staff are so nice. A perfect deal for the price just a little suggestion: if there is a little tray in the bathroom for putting misc stuff for shower, that would be even better!

Good place to stay with 24/7 reception and close to main night-life and attraction, but It seems more like a big hotel-group instead of an Hostel. It offers events on-site, with loud music in late hours, that probably is not nice to guests that don't attend (like a school trip, or whatever, where the youngs will make noise and loud talking to 2-3am everywhere in the place). This is not the casual backpackers hostel with 2-3 dormitories, but a big hotel-group with many rooms and guests

Decent hostel, had all I needed. Not much atmosphere in the evening, but good breakfast in the morning. Little bit far from the city centre, staff were friendly.

Good location and clean but definitely don’t make the same mistake that we did, they mean it when they say youth hostel! We don’t speak German and didn’t realize what the name of this hostel translated to. We were looking for a fun and social hostel experience and this was definitely not the place to find that as girls in our twenties. The breakfast is included but not great. They also didn’t have handsoap in our room.

Excellent hostel located in a convenient location with a superb view over the harbour. Everything in the hostel just works and the staff give good assistance to my needs and questions. Overall great value and experience.

Cobran membresía ($) al entrar. Llegue de noche y fue horrible. La subida del metro al hostel son escaleras y un mirador dodgy. En el baño no hay alfombra ni jabón. La cama no está hecha. En mi pieza la gente era MUY mayor (+50) y las camas NO TIENEN CORTINA lo que es raro. En la mañana la vista y el desayuno (incluido) fueron espectacular. Am Anreisetag bin ich auf Toilette gegangen und wurde von keiner sauberen Umgebung begrüßt (zwei benutzte Kondome in Waschbecken). Das Zimmer, indem ich untergebracht war, ist ebenfalls dreckig gewesen (Boden verstaubt, Fenster ließen sich nicht zum Lüften öffnen). Die Küche ist nicht wirklich ausgestattet, Kühlschrank nicht vorhanden. Die Lage wiederum (direkt an der S- und U-Bahn bei Landungsbrücken), der Panormablick über den Hafen und das freundliche Personal sind mir positiv aufgef...

Leider wurden wir als Familie getrennt und unsere Kinder mussten dann mit fremden Menschen in einem Zimmer schlafen. Eine Jugendherberge ist so konzipiert aber da war die Planung schlecht zu 7 hätte man uns ein Zimmer geben können und nicht 2 separate. Außerdem sind die Duschen und WC in einem schlechten Zustand.
