Aqua Lounge Bocas del Toro

The staff/ volunteers ruin this place. They are extremely rude, unhelpful and lazy if they even acknowledge you at all. We were shocked by the attitudes we received in particular from the girls at reception. The outside area is nice and the only redeeming feature of this place, but the kitchen is one of the worst equipped I’ve seen and the dorms are dark and damp

La de mujeres, compartida con 11 chicas, no tenía ningún tipo de ventilación, por lo tanto, el olor a humedad estaba por todos lados. El espacio de almacenamiento era el equivalente a un cajón pequeño, por ende, estaba todo en el suelo, causando un gran desorden. this is hostel that organises social events and not a social hostel. seems to attract people there to snap some instagram stuff and stay in their rooms watching netflix. not sure the showers are safe, seem to give out electric shocks when touched. bar very good when busy, really cool swimming areas and great views. $1 water taxis to Bocas Town seemingly run 24 hours which is good. if youre in a group then solid choice, solo then go somewhere more social. dead every night after 11pm too.

Their was bed bugs, I was unaware at the time but I was waking up with bites that I thought were from the day before, and never thought to check my bed. But since I have spoken to people who were staying in the same room as me and were informed there were bed bugs. I also know people who have stayed since and before who say they experienced bed bugs. The rooms aren’t clean, the kitchen is a mess, the location is nice with a $1 taxi to the main island, $2 at night. Some staff were unfriendly

The worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. I got it that this is party hostel but it doesn’t have to mean that this hostel has to be disgusting. The room and the hall was so smelly that I couldnt stay there. They don’t have any ventilation ad humidity makes it blehhhh. Also everything is so dirty. Security stuff treated me many times as the alien in the hostel because they didn’t see the bracelet and assumed that I want to break in. This hostel ruin my Bocas del Toro trip, don’t go

Filthy dirty bathrooms. My friend had cockroaches in her bed, reported this to security at 11.30 and was told there was nothing he could do, no resolve, sleep in the cockroach bed. Reception closed.. we shared my single bed. Not ideal. I complained the following day. Ray was helpful with our complaint however required supervisor approval for refund. Super Charlene did not acknowledge me and pretended not to speak English. We heard her speaking English. Rude, unprofessional, not fit for SV role

Really disappointed by this hostel as we were excited to come here. The receptionist who checked us in was rude and tried to add additional fake taxes to our bill. The room smelled horrible (all other guests commenting on this also) and the kitchen was filthy. There’s mould and leaking in the common areas. The volunteers and other staff were nice though.

The Staff was really unfriendly and the kitchen was terrible, it had only one stove which was working and it was rarely clean. But for just partying it was nice.

Wij kozen dit hostel ivm Filthy Friday, maar achteraf hadden wij liever ergens anders gezeten. Bij aankomst zaten er insecten en/of vlekken in ons beddengoed, die gelukkig verschoond werden. Alle dagen konden wij geen oog dicht doen vanwege de absurd harde muziek vanuit Agua die tot 2u s’ochtend doorging. Daarnaast zaten wij in een dorm met asociale mensen, die het licht constant aandeden en geen rekening hielden met anderen. Vrienden van ons kregen hier ook een voedselvergiftiging..

-im Keller wo Zimmer sind, stinkt es total (Leute hängen nasse Kleidung auf & Personal tut nichts dagegen) -Personal nicht freundlich -Lage nervig, da man jedes Mal 1 Dollar zahlen muss für das Boot, ab 21 Uhr 2 Dollar -kein Social Hostel

It was nice as a party hostel. They had a lot of events and stuff and the outside lounge area/ restaurant and pool was rlly beautiful. Reception was kind and so were cleaners. Restaurant workers were kind of rude and we did find a hair in our food the last night there… we stayed in the 12 mixed dorm and it was dirty and smelly. They also closed the kitchen at 10pm..so after 10pm u have no drinking water accessible till the next morning. Water at the restaurant cost $2 but they close early too.

Un posto incredibile e molto divertente, c’è sempre qualcosa da fare e ho incontrato tantissime persone. Consigliato se si vuole fare festa. Martina la ragazza della reception bravissima, gentile e disponibile ad aiutare. Ci ha anche consigliato un ristorante italiano buonissimo.

Beautiful hostel & location, nice activities, friendly staff. Kitchen is not that nice. Would be very nice to have a shuttle to the main island.

The hostel is beautiful, with a perfect location and an amazing atmosphere, especially the outdoor area and the dogs. Unfortunately, my stay was ruined by bed bugs. I got bites all over my body and reported it, but staff dismissed it, saying it was impossible. On my last day, I found and filmed bed bugs in the room. Only then did they admit it, but no real action was taken. The next guest was moved, which confirmed the issue. This should have been taken seriously from the start.

I really like this hostel. It’s gorgeous and the swimming is amazing. Very social and easy to meet people, crowd was a mixed age, 20-30ish. Restaurant prices are reasonable enough and food is really good. Only thing I’d mention to be aware of: I stayed in two dorms. The 12 beds are nicer but closer to the dance floor. Kind of loud until late at night. The smaller dorms are further away and quiet at night. I didn’t mind either one, but maybe for some people that is important to know.

Everything was perfect!! Especially the location and the building in general. Only the kitchen is a little bit unorganised and the cooker is not the best.

I had an incident that was handled very well. The whole staff were very nice with me during my 16 days there. I got sick during my trip, and Ramiro, Martina, Made and Sher were aware that I was doing solo trip so they really helped me in everything I need it. And I cannot forget to thank Galen, the owner, who also helped me a lot. Once he knew I was sick he made everything to make sure I’d feel comfortable and I did. Thank you all for the last few days. The restaurant staff were also perfect...

The staff were so helpful and kind! The kitchen isn't the cleanest abd the rooms feel dark. The social spaces are good and if you like a social night definitely come here!

Sehr tolles Hostel und sehr sozial, man lernt schnell und gut Leute kennen. Im Private-Room einen bequemen Aufenthalt gehabt, war auch nicht zu laut. Die Einrichtung (zB Duschvorhang, Handtuchstange) wären wohl zu ersetzen. Auch Shuttles organisiert das Hostel und bei Problemen wird einem schnell und freundlich geholfen, da Martina vom Staff und der Rest des Teams einen super Job machen. Don‘t forget: Für die Bootsfahrt zur Hauptinsel bezahlt man jeweils 1$, die Boote fahren aber 24/7.

Das Personal war freundlich und es wurde für Sicherheit während den Partys gesorgt. Das 12 Betten Zimmer befand sich in keinem guten Zustand und sah viel heruntergekommener als auf den Bildern aus. Schlafen könnte je nach Empfindlichkeit auch schwierig werden, weil es so unfassbar laut während den Partys ist. Die öffentlichen Toiletten waren sauber. Wer nur Party machen möchte und wem der Komfort nicht wichtig ist, der ist hier richtig. 34€ pro Nacht sind das ganze wirklich nicht wert.

We had such a fun stay here! The evening activities were some of the best of all the hostels we stayed in during our time in Central America! Would recommend everyone to stay here as is also super close to the main town. It was a little damp in the room when we were there though.

Hostel très cool avec une bonne ambiance, beaucoup d’espace pour se poser et chill. Il y a aussi des fêtes presque tous les soirs, ce qui rend le lieu très vivant et sympa pour rencontrer du monde. Cependant, le personnel est assez moyen : on a parfois l’impression de déranger lorsqu’on demande quelque chose, et il n’y a pas vraiment d’aide ni d’informations sur les activités proposées. De plus, la cuisine n’est pas très propre.

la cuisine est horrible. il n’y a rien pour cuisiner et les plaques ne marchent pas toutes. l’hostel est grand avec plusieurs espaces sympas et une piscine. ça fait la fête donc musique jusque tard. les lits sont ok avec une salle de bain dans chaque dortoir. l’hostel est sur l’île en face de la ville principale donc il faut prendre un taxiboat pour chaque déplacement

Eine super Unterkunft die jeden Abend soziale Aktivitäten anbietet. Für mich war es allerdings unpraktisch immer nach Bocas die Fähre nehmen zu müssen, da die bootsfahrer auch häufig 2 Dollar wollten weil ich alleine gereist bin
