Hele nare ervaring. Met veel positiviteit begon ik deze reis. De eerste dag werd ik al door de eigenaar geschreeuwd omdat hij niet zijn verantwoordelijkheid heeft genomen om goede instructies te geven aan zijn medewerkers. De (bad)kamers worden niet schoongemaakt (dode insecten, slechte ventilatie) alleen de algemene ruimte. De staat is enorm verwaarloosd, onhygiënisch en gewoonweg ranzig. Ik heb mij niet veilig gevoeld op de locatie sinds medewerkers relaties aangaan met reizigers. Vieze bende

Not gonna lie it wasn’t my vibe at all. Felt dirty, no air con and nowhere to escape the heat. Beach is like 20 min walk away. You’re outside of palomino so have to get a mototaxi anytime you want to leave which makes you feel pretty trapped. Socially it was very cliquey. Food tasted nice but didn’t sit well with me or my friend

I was recommended this hostel by fellow travelers, but it was a disappointment. The vibe was more hippie commune than typical backpacker, with a crowd that felt dull. The location, far from Palomino, made getting around inconvenient. Facilities were poor—dirty toilets and showers, and not much to do on-site. To top it off, my laundry was returned wet, forcing me to carry damp clothes in my backpack. Wouldn’t recommend.

Really nice volunteers and guests, a very social atmosphere. A crazy amount of mosquitoes (never saw so many anywhere before) and this hostel is REALLY dirty! There are bedbugs/lice in all the hammocks/chill spots that bite you. The kitchen is very unhygienic. We both got really bad food poisoning from the veggie hamburger and when we told one of the staff about it she just said it “could not have possibly been that”. We felt like it wasn’t taken seriously. I hope they improve their hygie...

A lot of weed in this place, hot rooms and uncomfortable mattresses. Didn't have my best time there.

Küche leider sehr schlecht. Sehr dreckig und nur 2 herdplatten und kaum Töpfe Pfannen etc. Dazu ist die Küche sehr dreckig und der Kühlschrank ekelig. Personal gibt sich Mühe aber trinkt sehr viel und ist dadurch etwas verwirrt und inkompetent. Chill out area sind super schön und auch die privaten Strände sind sehr schön. Die duschen hab wenig bis kaum Wasser und die Betten sind schrecklich unbequem und klein.

I am genuinely shocked that this Hostel is so highly rated. I booked 2 nights here and left first thing in the morning. The rooms are extremely hot with no ventilation, no mosquito nets, and one tiny fan for a 6 person dorm. I have been traveling for 3 months and have never slept in a room as hot as this one. When I woke up there were 3 guests sleeping outside due to the heat. While the hostel has a private beach, it is a 10 minute walk away and the actual hostel grounds are extremely muggy and ...

Ich war leider kein großer Fan. Das Frühstück und auch das Essen allgemein waren super lecker, jedoch war das gratis Frühstück etwas wenig. Das Bad war oft dreckig, genauso die Küche, die echt eine Katastrophe war manchmal. Die Lage ist cool, durch den Fluss und die einsamen Strände und auch die Aktivitäten am Abend haben mir gefallen. All in all stimmte für mich das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis aber nicht und ich hab mich eher unwohl dort gefühlt. Weil auch das Gelände nicht besonders...

Un peu éloigné de Palomino mais qui rend le lieu magnifique, entouré de forêt singes oiseaux et plages privées ! Une ambiance sympa entre backpackers plutôt jeunes. Juste la cuisine c'est pas possible...

Absolutely incredible hostel. Lovely people, staff, volunteers and guests. The location is amazing, the hidden beach is like paradise. Great facillities, super cleann. Could not recommend more

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at! Went once and came back a few months later. The access to the river and almost private beaches is amazing. Staff is incredible, they arrange so many activities that make your stay unforgettable. Will come back again for sure!!

Jaba Jan was amazing! Would definitely go back to this hostel. Everyone was friendly. There were lots of activities and the beaches nearby are gorgeous

Das Hostel liegt etwas außerhalb von Palomino, direkt an einem privaten Strand – perfekt, um wirklich abzuschalten und die Ruhe zu genießen. Die Atmosphäre ist entspannt und angenehm, ideal zum Erholen. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit, man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Insgesamt ein toller Ort, wenn man dem Trubel entkommen und ein paar ruhige Tage am Meer verbringen möchte.

Great hostel, nestled in a quiet area out of Palomino, but walking distance along the beach or an easy moto ride. Great vibes and lovely staff

Jaba Jans has a lovely vibe to it - very kind staff and the family dinner night was lovely! Quite quiet vibe when we were there so was not too social - good place to relax after Rio!

super hostel met geweldig personeel, rustige plaats buiten Palomino en veel troeven in huis om er een zalig verblikf van te maken. initieel plan was 2 nachten maar verlengd tot 4 nachten

Really lovely hostel with a super relaxed vibe and wonderful staff. Quite a remote location so ideal if you want a break from the town/people and to be with nature. Salsa and yoga classes are both great fun! Very sociable hostel and definitely recommend overall!

Un lugar increíble! Fácil para pasar una semana mínimo, mucha buena onda, playa privada con desembocadura del río, actividades diarias organizadas por los chicos del staff. Imposible aburrirse :)

Awesome place that has everything! - Access to beautiful nature & beach - good food and drinks - great vibe & social events :)

The nature is beautiful, staff helpful and kind. The dorms are basic but do the job, however they are extremely hot at night. There is an extreme hippie vibe, think psychedelics and meditations to connect with your spirit animal. This is the most isolating experience I’ve ever had at a hostel as a solo traveler. There is an extremely cliquey group of volunteers and most guests seem to be couples or very established groups of friends.

Super entspannter Ort zum abschalten und coole Leute kennenlernen, wie eine kleine Familie. Der Strand ist wunderschön, schönster Strand Kolumbiens sehr naturverbunden. Tolles kostenloses Programm. Das Essen dort schmeckt super lecker jeden Tag gibt es ein neues Gericht. Nur zu empfehlen !!!

Wir wollten eigentlich nur ein paar Tage bleiben, aber daraus sind 2 Wochen geworden und ich würde am liebsten nochmal mindestens 2 Wochen länger bleiben! Ich habe mich so angekommen & zu Hause gefühlt & vermisse es jetzt schon so sehr, dass es sich wie Heimweh anfühlt! Die Menschen dort sind einfach nur wundervoll & auch die anderen Gäste und Volunteers und ganz besonders auch die 3 Hunde Django, Lua und ganz neu mit dabei Negrito/Viejito (mein Favorit). I loved my stay at Jaba Jan. It is like a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle. You sit closely with nature and connect with amazing people. A place I would love to go back to. Thank you for this special time 💖

Really cool place! Super nice and relaxed atmosphere, good facilities, very clean, only friendly people. If I could’ve stayed longer I definitely would have!! Another bonus: there are a lot of hammocks !!

I highly recommend Jaba Jan, it's an absolute perfection! I had an amazing time and got to know a lot of people all over the world, especially people from Colombia, which was very special. Atmosphere was amazing and welcoming, and I will definitely come back! And the place itself, wow. You really have to see it yourself!

Really loved this hostel. The vibes are amazing, very chill. Slightly out the centre of town if you don’t mind that. Many free activities. Volunteers and staff are so welcoming and helpful. Really loved my time here.
