We had a private room for 4 and honestly one of the worst places I’ve been to. The room and private bathroom smelled horrible, the bathroom also looked filthy, like you were on a boat or train. The guy at the reception was very nice though, and perhaps the shared rooms and areas look better, but the private room - 💀

Very friendly and helpful staff. However the accommodation was completely disgusting. Black mould on the walls in the room and bathroom. Bathroom was extremely dirty. Curtain falling off the rail. Water ingress on the door. Stains on the towels. Really really awful.

Great building. Lovely staff. The smell in our room was awful. There was obviously a problem with the drains. Also the bathroom needed a good clean.

Nice rooms and in a good location. A tad soulless to me, however. Some staff friendly, others less so

Modern and comfortable. Staff were friendly (if a bit too chatty, holding up queues), amazing location. Small details: provide free teabags and coffee, salt and pepper in the kitchen. My bathroom had a bad smell of drains.

5 floors of historical, renovated, granary. You get the experience of seeing some of the original structure. Disabled accessible with lifts. The top floor has kitchens, tv/lounge, dont forget to put your pin on the board to show where your from 😀. Clean and well kept. Floor 4 and 3 are the rooms. We had a larger room with 2 bunk beds and 1 single bed. There was an onsuite toilet/wet room shower. Good amount of space as the bathroom ran the length of the room. Make sure to bring your own towel...

I love using Berwick hostel number 1 thing is the security for the minute you arrive you have to show photo ID this should be in every place. Also door card system even in hallway is amazing. The staff have always went out their way to help and give us up to date information about our stay and the area of Berwick. This is recommended for families and also just friends of all ages. I think the bedrooms are amazing and beds are very comfortable. I could praise this place all night. Xx

Short weekend break with partner and adult son, perfect location in the centre, on suite room was comfy and everything we needed. Staff super helpful and some nice communal areas to relax.

A last minute decision to break my journey and take advantage of the current YHA offer. Well what a great reception from Scott and a lovely hostel. The team at breakfast were also great. Will definitely keep this hostel on my radar. :)

Scott from the Berwick YHA was an absolute hero when he helped our friend who had had a very nasty fall on the lane outside the Granary building. Not only did he call 999 he was a huge help and support whilst she was taken to hospital. Can’t thank him enough.

I was here for a work event. The team were really helpful and the facilities were good value. The food provided for arrival and at lunch was good too, plain and simple tasty food.

Just enjoyed our third stay here this year. Great location in the heart of Berwick close to the historic quarter. The manager and his staff have always been welcoming and professional, happy to chat and advise. The rooms and other facilities are excellent. We will be back soon

YHA Berwick is a brilliant place to stay – friendly, comfortable, and full of character. The hostel is set in a beautifully converted old granary right by the quayside, so it has loads of atmosphere as well as a great location. Rooms are clean and practical, and there’s a nice mix of private and dorm options. The communal areas are welcoming, with a good café/bar and plenty of space to relax or chat with other travellers. Staff are warm and helpful, always ready with tips on exploring Berwi...

Great stay. The staff are super friendly. The building is very modern and has an industrial look. We had a toilet and shower in our room, all clean. And upstairs there was a kitchen (very clean and everything was working fine) and a lounge. We are very impressed. Highly recommended!

We didn't stay here but visited the cafe! Was nice and cosy and had a good atmosphere! Had a sandwich meal with a drink and crisps! Staff were very friendly and was good to see as someone left they cleared the table straight away!! Would definitely visit again!
