Lonko Hostel

I would put a zero for the staff but that was not an option. When trying to pay at the end of our stay, the front desk tried to charge us double for the stay. Once I caught him doing that, I realized he was making up his own exchange rate. After showing the international exchange rate he still did not change it to the correct value. Shower was not hot. Most of the staff was friendly, but after dealing with check out I would not recommend staying here. Doesn’t look like the pictures either.

Property attempts to overcharge everyone on check in. Most people probably don’t notice. They claim an exchange rate that is 25-33% different from the actual one. The staff were very nice, but overall we were very disappointed with the hostel. Our room smelled, and there was a water leak.

Pros: staff are friendly, location is good, breakfast offer is great, there’s a decent kitchen, view from the rooftop. Cons: loud maintenance work being done to the rooms, room next to a loud alleyway, generally quite down, had to ask for new toilet paper twice, shower was lukewarm at best, little social atmosphere, there was an acrylic nail in my breakfast…

The walls in the rooms and bathrooms were pealing and looked mouldy. The shower broke every time I went to use it , and when it did it work, it was barely a trickle which made it nearly impossible to wash my hair. The bed sheet didn’t fit the bed so kept coming off exposing the mattress which isn’t very hygienic. The breakfast was good, but no one was asked for details so I paid money when I essentially didn’t need to as others didn’t pay. No atmosphere so not social for solo travellers.

Overrated hostel. False advertisement of cooking course - reason we booked! Lack of coordination at front desk over our payment (twice), hassling us at 3am and 5am respectively. Basic rooms, not sound proof, light pouring in. Threw away our food from fridge randomly. Only highlight was the lady cooking breakfast was lovely

A short but sweet stay. Room and bathroom were basic but clean - lacking plug sockets. Communal areas were well looked after. Didn’t experience any social side as we were not there long enough. Hosts were really good at organising the colca canyon tour last minute, but no staff at the desk upon arrival. Could store our luggage for free - thank you!!!

Overall good for the price tou pay. It was very clean and the view from roofrop was good. However, the walls are very thin so it cacan easily be loud. Rooms without window, not so comfortable. Also the common kitchen was too small and not sufficiently equipped.

Everything went well for one night! But no social event really! Also, the dorms with 4 beds on the first floor, had no toilet seat. The location is great, and the view is amazing.

We had an amazing stay at Lonko Hostel. There were two rooftop seating areas with fantastic views of Chachani volcano. The facilities are clean and the bedrooms are comfortable with private bathroom. The staff are incredibly friendly and the included breakfast of banana crepe or eggs and toast was delicious. Located a 10-15 min walk from Plaza de Armas, very central.

shower are super nice and hot. no outlet near the bed in the privat room. location is good. not social and kitchen is not very clean. breakfast is nice (pancakes or toast with eggs)

Great hostel not far from the plaza. Staff really friendly. Super clean. Nice breakfast with amazing views. Can be a bit noisy, but that depends on the guests. Some guests are less considerate than others in the middle of the night. However, it’s not really a party hostel.

Nice small hostel in Arequipa. Great value for money with a fanatic breakfast. There is a rooftop bar with hammocks as well as a dining area on another floor for breakfast both with great views of the mountains.

Great location, awesome rooftop views, good price for private rooms but it is loud to sleep because so many people do early (3am) tours Potential to be very social, Harol the bartender was great to create conversation & vibe Construction was loud but the extension will be great once finished

Very friendly staff and excellent service! Especially convenient: after our Colca Canyon tour, we were still able to take a shower and leave our luggage there. Highly recommended!

A good hostel just a 10 minute walk from Plaza de Armas, with a great rooftop deck and bar and hammocks overlooking the city. Comfortable beds too!

The breakfast was amazing with a great view too!

Very happy with this stay. Good water pressure, hot showers. Excellent view of the volcanos from the rooftop. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it is close to the city center and attractions

Très bonne auberge. Calme, propre, cuisine fonctionnelle, terrasse avec les hamacs très sympa, petit dej salé ou sucré selon les envies !

Great stay!

Not very social, but nice for 1-2 nights. The people that work here are really nice!
