Pura Vida Hostel

Pues mi esperiencia fatal pese a tener reserva con Hostelworld, no me dieron alojamiento

I felt exactly like in prison... a lot of restrictions... the hostel has no vibe... the staff are not very friendly...

Tho owner is unfriendly! No fresh air in the room. Poor furniture. Everything is dirty. It's worth nothing.

Bad vibes all around at this place. On our first night, when we came back, we were talking a little loudly, and the owner decided to open the door to our room and enter to tell us to be quiet. So uncomfortable! We were a room of young women and we had this random man just walking in unannounced at 3 am. Expect no privacy as staff also enter without knocking to clean. The facilities are in bad shape--the shower head fell off the wall and hit me in the face. No windows in rooms. Do not recommend.

Zimmer stinkt, hat kein Fenster und nur ein Licht. Küche hat keinerlei Ausstattung. Stimmung war eher nicht da, Trinkwasser nur sehr sparsam aus dem hahn. Dafür aber gute Dachterrasse und Nähe zum Strand.

Very bad management, when i came they found a pajama on my bed next day someone else was checking in when it was full and the beds are not like what's in the picture, it's suffocating inside with so small space even for an Hostel and it stinks

positives: great location, free sun cream; negatives: didn't feel super safe there, a majority of the clientele was over 40/50 and was using the property as long term accommodation, beds weren't very clean, smell

Condizioni igieniche molto al di sotto delle aspettative. Personale poco disponibile e atmosfera che ci é sembrara fredda all'interno della struttura. Al contrario la posizione é perfetta, a pochi metri dalla spiaggia di la cicer e non abbiamo mai percepito insicurezza.

I’m glad I only booked one night at the hostel, the smell in the room was awful, and there was no ventilation at all. The rooms do not lock. The whole place was very dirty, I wouldn’t recommend it, even though it is cheap. The only good part was the location to be honest.

The only good thing I can say about this hostel is the location and the fact that there are curtains in the rooms. My experience was awful in the hostel. The drinking water tap was broken throughout my stay. There was a noise of construction throughout the week I was there. But the real madness started when my roommate, who was probably half autistic, got into the room in the middle of the night, opened the light, and tried to get into MY BED! The hostel was well-equipped, the staff was friendly, and they did their best to keep everything clean, but unfortunately it looked old and smelled that way.

Best Hostel ever

Wasn't the greatest hostel. The lockers only supported tiny cheap locks and locks weren't sold at the facility. There weren't any activities, so meeting people was difficult. The towel that I rented was still damp. and the customer services isnt great, I over heard an employee respond to a guest complaint about a blanket by saying that nobody else has complained and the issue.

Top hostel! Good vibes at the hostel! the owner and the volunteers make sure that the hostel is clean and nice! The location is also perfect near the beach where you can surf, busstops and nice places to eat. On my trip in Gran Canaria I stayed a couple of times in Pura Vida. I will come back for sure!

Best place to stay !! I was solo traveler and so easy to meet people, I enjoyed that much that I extended 2 more nights. I really recommend. Gracias Miguel !

We were traveling there during NYE and prices was higher on 31st and 1st, but before that price was normal. Atmosphere is very nice and friendly. We felt like part of community. We didn’t get keys for room so you have to trust your fellow travelers:) there are only two bathrooms with toilets. So you have to wait a bit. I’ve had very good time there. Nice balcony. Equipment for surfing to rent is good. You are 5min from the beach with lovely waves.

Posizione perfetta a pochi passi dalla spiaggia, perfetto per il surf. Personale accogliente e attento alla pulizia. Letti grandi, da una piazza e mezzo. Spesso si organizzano social dinner. Grazie a Miguel e a tutti i volontari.

Best value for money, the staff was very nice.

Very close to Las Canteras and easy to get to other bus stations if you want to go elsewhere on the island. Beds and rooms were clean and bottom bunks had curtains. Nice sized lockers for each person, but no locks on the room doors. Only things that could be improved were that the lower shower was broken (but still useable) and one of the toilets was unstable and seemed like it could tip over. Definitely you get what you pay for; fine enough for a few nights.

Recommendation for the off-season! Very chill vibe, mainly because of the volunteers :)

Had a great stay at this hostel! The vibe was super chill—perfect for relaxing or meeting new people. Facilities were clean and well-maintained, and everything I needed was there. The staff and volunteers were all really friendly and helpful, which made the place feel welcoming right away. Also met some great fellow travelers—just a good crowd overall. Would definitely come back!

Un ambiente muy acogedor con personal que hacían sentir en casa. Me encantó tanto que tengo pensado regresar de voluntariado.

Such a great hostel! When I arrived at I could immediately join the hostel for the lunch everyone prepared. In the evening we all joined for drinks at the rooftop. Everyday I went with people to the beach or other activities. The staff is really friendly and its a great place to meet people as a solo backpacker! Next time I’m in Gran Canaria I would definitely stay here again!

Nous avions réservé 2 nuits, nous sommes finalement restées 6 nuits. Miguel est d'une gentillesse incroyable, il met à l'aise et organise des soirées extrêmement sympathiques. Les bénévoles sont serviables et arrangeantes. Je recommande à 200% cette auberge.

Super hostel to stay. Staff incredible friendly and provide a warm and fun atmosphere I have not seen for long time in hostel. Thank you guys. See you soon
