The rooms were tiny no fresh air and the beddings not clean

This place severely needs to be cleaned and the walls are paper thin so I heard everyone at all times.

The pictures on the Web site do not reflect the accommodation provided they were exceedingly below standard and would therefore recommend an inspection from hostile World and an updated website. Would not recommend.

Terrible mattress! I could feel the springs. It needs replacing asap! The vibes were good in the hostel though.

No ID check at check-in. No lockers in the dorm. Room smelled very stale. Duvet smelled very strongly as if it had not been washed in years. Check-out requires only pillow case to laundry, supports hypothesis that duvets & covers are not washed. Garden unkempt, in serious need of some tidying. Shower has rusty curtain rod but no curtain. Shelf in splash zone, nowhere for dry things. No body wash dispenser, & no body wash. Shower head positioned for a midget. No hand soap in wash basin ...

Weird atmosphere, cold and smelly rooms. Staff never around. No bars on top bunk of beds so quite dangerous. Friend booked a girl dorm but there was a man in her room. Wouldn’t book again

Christchurch was excellent, so didn’t end up spending much time in hostel. The pictures on their site need updating as what we were expecting and what we got left us feeling catfished. The room itself felt like a prison and the bed was so uncomfortable. There was a constant felling of being watched as someone sat and watched the cctv persistently, also there are signs everywhere saying no alcohol and if you come back drunk, you’ll be kicked out with no refunds, overall this felt very aggress...

It was good that there is the possibility for free car parking just in front of the hostel and it’s located quite central, it’s just a ten minutes walk to the city centre. Unfortunately we couldn’t get in touch with any staff to get information for our late check in for days, just shortly before the arrival we got an answer to our several emails and phone calls. The property manager, Shay, was very helpful and understanding of our situation. The people we interacted with were friendly and the atmosphere in shared spaces was a safe and fun environment. Convenient location plus they have chickens!

The hostel is well located, reasonably priced, and has some on-site parking. However, I didn't like the fact that I had to download an app to unlock the front door. I also thought the kitchen was really run down and quite untidy. The other guests were drinking and playing music loudly till late in the evening, but that was not the Hostel's fault as there were signs up asking people not to do this.

Very good chill hostel. Good and fun people around. Facilities are clean and well maintained. Can recommend for your stay in Christchurch

I had a great time here. The host is super friendly and the atmosphere at the hostel is very social and chill. Great place to meet people and spend time. I also really liked the living rooms to just hang out or get some work done as well as the cozy garden. Happy to come back again!

This was a great base in Christchurch. I didn't interact personally with staff but there were emails sent before my arrival to explain how to enter and get my room key since my arrival would be after the reception was closed. It was a clean, comfortable, and safe place to stay for a couple of nights!

I arrived to a really fun group of people! The kitchen has lots of space to cook and store goods. I am super grateful for the staff and the owner being able to work with my situation. will be coming back!

Not a fan of having an app to enter the property, I had concerns about my phone being out of charge and not being able to get back in. My bedding had some stains on and didn’t feel very clean, neither did the bed look like it had been made and overall the room didn’t feel very clean. There was one toilet and shower in the women’s bathroom which wasn’t enough unless you wanted to use unisex which was basically the men’s as they don’t have their own bathroom. Great hostel ans very kind host!

I had a couple of short friendly interactions with the staff member. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The atmosphere however left something to be desired. Twice I had people try to enter my room with a key, and on all 3 nights of my stay there were different groups of people up and talking loudly outside and making noise after curfew, it was til 2am on one night. There was no enforcement of the rules at all at any point. I probably won’t stay again, but not a bad stay overall.

A home from home , a little oasis of sanity in the heart of the city., complete with veggie gardens and chicken. Shay, the owner is a great host, helpful and friendly. Excellent location. Would highly recommend !

Had a great stay here. It’s just a short, pleasant walk from the centre of Christchurch. Lovely shared facilities and a surprisingly comfortable sofa!

Very basic accommodation and a fairly small property which was good as the kitchen was never overly busy but wasn’t the most social hostel. All the doors have the same key so even though you have a key the doors are basically always unlocked and there are no personal lockers in the rooms so nowhere to put valuables. The man behind the desk was helpful when i needed coins for the laundry and advice on how to get around the city
