Hostel Cascada Verde

It's a decent place but the mattress was terrible and when I brought it up to the owner she got defensive said she sleeps great. She offered another room so I checked it out but all the mattresses were the same. Probably bought when they opened up 20 years ago lol. Also a private room should be private its not you can hear people talking everywhere you can even hear your neighbor fart lol not so private if you ask me. I asked for my money back they said no so I left and booked at much betterspot

Kühlschränke werden nachts abgeschaltet. Zimmer stinken nach Schimmel. Ameisen im Bett. Wlan hat man nur vor der Rezeption und nachts gar nicht. Trips vom Hostel total überteuert. Es war unser schlechtestes Hostel mit dem unfreundlichstem Personal. Volunteere werden wie dreck behandelt. Nie wieder 🙏🏼

Very nice and relaxing, the view is beautiful. We saw white face monkeys jumping through the trees, it rained all night and just made for a very cozy stay

Nothing positive can be said about the hostel. The staff at the reception is super unfriendly and inhuman. From 10 pm onwards there must be absolute silence and there are no exceptions. On the day of check out it is not possible to leave his luggage there until the planned departure or it is only very reluctantly voluntarily taken over by the reception. Especially the receptionist with the Rastas is very strict and not open minded.As a backpacker it was the worst experience for me in ahostel yet

Common areas in the main house are ok. Guest house with dorms is a s**** with mosquito nets. It's really dirty, rooms are tiny and full of mold. Beds are uncomfortable too. The hostel is really far away from anything but the waterfall and the staff is incredibly rude. The door in our room didn't even close and the lockers were a ridiculous size where you could hardly fit anything. I told an employee about the door and she said it was normal and I could leave if I didn't like it. And so I did.

As previous reviews state… everything is all well and good if you are staying in the main house but if you’re in a dorm in the “shed” it’s filthy, the rooms are so damp the beds are wet and all you can smell is the mould. The actual hostel is nice with a big kitchen and jungle vibe. Owners and staff incredibly rude and unhelpful. The damp room was affecting our breathing so we asked to leave but they would only offer a partial refund as “damp should be expected if you book a cheap ro...

Eso si. dicho esto:El personal horrible, antipáticos y no ayudan en prácticamente nada, tienen toda l recepción llena de carteles y si les preguntas o pides por ejemplo: me puedes pedir un taxi. automáticamente te dirigen al cartelito : - ahi tienes los telefonos. Tal cual. de las habitaciones de “inmersas” en la naturaleza , nada de nada, cubiculos de caña de bambu 0 “encsnto” y la cocina pequeña, hecha polvo y sucia. 0 recomendable.

Wenn man im 8er-Dorm schlafen will muss man davon ausgehen dass die Betten feucht sind und es keine Fliegengitter gibt. Die Tür kann auch nicht geschlossen werden mit der Begründung es sei ja ein Dorm. Die Matratzen sahen aus wie aus den 70ern und unter meiner waren auch Kakerlaken. Wir haben dann etwas mehr gezahlt und sind in das 4er Zimmer gewechselt. Abends wird man darauf hingewiesen extrem leise zu sein und man kann nicht mal zu zweit games spielen. I stayed for a week, but I didn’t feel welcome.The owners and workers seems negative and observing them give instructions to their volunteers, made me feel bad for the volunteers who are simply there to help.The kitchen is packed in the morning & night and the stove is a bit out of hand with the fire.. +they do not have any Tupperware, to keep your leftovers.The beds in the dorm is damp - matching the humid weather in Uvita, but the surroundings of the hostel, the beautiful jungle, is gorgeous...

Out of the seven hostels we stayed at around Costa Rica, this one was my favourite facility-wise! Fun structure with a lot of places to lounge, a very beautiful view to the ocean the second floor. Just enough bathrooms, more can be found if needed, which I appreciated. Hot water! Each bed had a mosquito net which I felt very safe in. Fantastic hostel! Great clean spaces for cooking and hanging out. Good chill jungle vibes. All staff was extremely friendly, except the one guy cleaning the kitchen all day who was constantly crabby and getting annoyed at everyone for anything possible. Ruined the vibe but otherwise everyone was so so great!

Sehr schönes Hostel direkt im Jungle, tolles Personal, große Küche. Schöne Atmosphäre. Moskitonetze vorhanden, riechen etwas unangenehm. Betten waren hart und durchgelegen. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Tolle Lage mitten im Dschungel, gute Ausstattung mit allem was man braucht, toller Vibe. Sehr große Weiterempfehlung!

Amazing location in the jungle. It was nice and clean and the kitchen was very well stocked with everything you need. Would recommend if you’re staying in Uvita!

Cadre incroyable, détente, oiseaux, grenouilles les soirs de pluie, écureuils... personnel parfait. Toujours prêt à répondre aux questions avec le sourire. L'éloignement en pleine jungle se paie par le fait que la première supérette soit à 20mins à pieds (à faire le soir ou le matin très tôt car en plein jour c'est une montée en plein soleil qui vous attend). En somme, tout est loin. Il y a quelques snacks et boissons disponibles à l'hostel à un prix relativement correct.

Overall, it was such a great stay. The owner is very helpful and friendly and will happily answer any questions you might have. Despite the rustic setting, they also offer hot showers, which was great. Although there is no AC, the hostel is very well ventilated due to its location, so it never felt uncomfortably hot. Wer richtiges Dschungelgefühl will ist hier genau richtig. Beim Frühstücken konnten wir Affen/Kolibris sehen. Es besteht die Möglichkeit am Yoga teilzunehmen, was auf der Terrasse mit Ausblick auf Dschungel und Meer definitiv ein Highlight war. Supermärkte sind weiter weg. Da alles offen ist, sollte man auf jeden Fall Rucksäcke und Taschen immer zulassen, da sich sonst schnell die Ameisen breit machen. Es gab außerdem die Möglichkeit Frühstück zu bestellen. Hostel Cascade Verde is amazing. It is very clean and has a friendly close to nature atmosphere. We could watch wildlife from the chill out area. :D The Kitchen is well equipped and the hostel is close to some waterfalls.

Not so secure, but nice athmosefear. Would be 10/10 with more lockers and maybe a pool or similar!!

Die Unterkunft mitten im Dschungel ist so schön und gemütlich und man kann super Ausflüge unternehmen! Alles war sauber und alle Angestellten sowie die Besitzer*innen super lieb und immer gut gelaunt, das war unser Lieblingshostel unserer gesamten Costa Rica und Panamareise

Great stay

Super idyllisch, Personal war sehr freundlich. Das Hostel ist zwar etwas abgelegen, aber ist trotzdem gut zu fuß oder recht billig mit Uber erreichbar. Die Atmosphäre „mitten im Dschungel“ ist wirklich super erholsam

Cascada Verde ist eine sehr schöne Unterkunft mit eigener Atmosphäre. Eine tolle Terrasse mit Blick über die Bäume auf den Pazifik. Auch wird man sehr gut über mögliche Aktivitäten und Reisemöglichkeiten informiert. Dafür muss man aber einen weiten Weg an den Strand in Kauf nehmen(knapp 5 km).Für Reisende ohne Auto also nicht ganz unproblematisch.

Super hostel, le lieu est incroyable et les propriétaires très accueillants.

It was incredible! Like a big tree house in the jungle with view on the ocean, cozy spots to relax, a wonderful atmosphere and social vibes! I was sad I couldn’t stay longer! ❤️

Luc was the best volunteer! Will miss this place and the people there.
