Cheers Hostel

The pictures are highly edited and nothing like the real rooms they offer. The doors are all scratched up and there is no lock on any of the doors including the entrance downstairs. I visited during the winter and it was a pain. There is not even lukewarm water to wash your hands in the sink, let alone hot water to take a shower. If you find toilet paper or soap in the bathrooms then you are in luck since most of them do not have it. People staying there are the best part of the experience

Below average hostel for an expensive price. There was mold in the bathrooms, the floor squeaked so loud, no one could come and go quietly, there was no security apart from the front desk person who wasn’t always there and it didn’t feel safe. The male staff commented on a number of women’s bodies. Breakfast was good and I met some amazing people but I was unable to leave a review on the app and it feels like something very sketchy is going on at this hostel.

I expected the 'separate building' with private rooms to be next door, not on a whole different street. Zero facilities in this separate building and having to walk over to the actual hostel to use theirs, or even to check out, was annoying. My private double was very run down and in need of renovation. Two staff members I met were polite but disinterested. I wasn't even told anything about activities etc. when I checked in, only told the bar was closing at 2am.

TERRIBLE! I wouldn’t recommend, particularly to women. I didn’t feel safe or trust the hostel workers. I was yelled at and felt uncomfortable the whole time. To add insult to injury they accused me of not paying and took money off my card without warning/consent. They told me the ‘police were coming for me’ before they checked the cameras to reveal their incompetency.

Extremely conflicted about this review. To start- this is a review about the hostel itself, not the city. Loved Istanbul as a city but the only genuine relationships I had with any locals while I was there is Sinan and the guy working the grocery store on the corner by the barbershop. Sinan was amazing and is the only staff member I had continuous conversations with that didnt threaten me or lie to me in order to try to make me spend more money with the hostel. Terrible. Booked a private room and it was the worst place I've ever stayed. Spend the money and get a real hotel if you want a private room.

All those are good, But there was a miss from their end regarding the bus timings and it ended up spending €35 to reach the Airport which is unreal.. Please try to get own facilities to go to airport which is better.

Very social and young crowd. I met some great people. However, the area is extremely touristy and overpriced. Some staff are helpful, others push rip-off tours and taxis. Night staff were unhelpful and couldn’t be found. I booked an airport shuttle through the hostel (paid cash); when my flight was delayed they refused to help rebook or refund, and when I called the shuttle company they said only the hostel could handle it. Overpriced water and poor shower pressure. Fine for one night stay.

Had a great stay here. Ugur has been a wonderful host for me, booked my tours for me and many other things. A great included breakfast spread was included. Nice location and great atmosphere. Recommend.

We stayed in the private 3 bed room and loved it! Beds were comfortable and bathroom was nice with a huge shower. Staff were incredibly kind and hospitable. They were there to help at all hours. There is a hostel dog and he is a sweetheart!! Walking distance to all major tourists sights, trams, cafes, restaurants etc. 10/10 recommend!!

The crew here is an absolute vibe, social and chill crowd. Hostel dog is a massive bonus! Big thanks to Jon and Tammy for making my time in Istanbul so fun. I will be back!

Emplacement parfait au cœur de Sultanahmet, très proche des endroits phare d'Istanbul. Tout le staff est adorable, plein de bons conseils et de petites attentions. J'ai fait de superbes rencontres. Je recommande fortement !

We stayed at Cheers Hostel for one week. Over that time we had the best experience imaginable. The private rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was attentive to our needs and had recommendations on food, historical sites, bath house, night life and everything in between. We were offered complimentary breakfast with coffee/tea every morning that was delicious and nourishing. We became very close with the staff and they were like family. The staff was friendly and fun, their suggestions for stuff was a little pricey (laundry, food and such) we appreciated their help but we found better options on our own, they are really friendly but the activities are a little overpriced, pub crawl isn’t a bad deal but the pubs aren’t that great tbh, don’t get the family dinner you’re better off getting a meal on your own for better tasting food and value. It’s a good place to sleep but calling it a party hostel is a little underwhelm...

Ugur was amazing

Had such a great time staying at Cheers and would totally recommend! The location is amazing and super walkable to everything you want and need in Sultanahmet. Most of all, The staff were absolutely incredible, probably the best hostel staff I have ever interacted with. They were so so friendly and helpful with everything, and we honestly felt like friends with them ◡̈ They also put on an awesome pub crawl!
