Ragamuffin Hostel

The worst hostel i‘ve ever been. Showers are not nice. Water is not working perfectly. Kitchen is small and almost no plates or anything. Looks dirty and old. The floor, the roof ect. For 30 USD. But I have to say in Jamaica the hostels/airbnbs are way to expensive for what you get. So don‘t be surprised. Location is only good for the Bob Markey Museum. The rest is too far.

There is always a lot of people from Haiti, there are very loud and never leave the hostel, i barely could sleep in my whole stay, the female receptionist wasn't friendly at all.

I booked the 6 bed female dorm, but when I arrived he had given my bed away to someone else, and I had to stay in the 20 bed mixed dorm. The guy at reception had smoked too much and was way too out of it to solve the problem properly. I don’t mind weed at all but being that blazed was what caused it. Other than that, it’s a social place, really easy to meet people, nice outside area, and it’s close to the Bob Marley museum.

Das Hostel hat eine gute Lage, daher hab ich es gebucht. Die meisten Mitarbeitenden sind jedoch nicht motiviert und wirken eher genervt als hilfsbereit. Die Klos waren teilweise extrem dreckig, die Fotos sehen besser aus, als es in Echt war.. ein Bett hat extrem gequietscht bei der kleinsten Bewegung, sodass ich Bett wechseln musste um nicht alle aufzuwecken. Der Hof ist klein und es gab Ratten. Um zu den Klos zu kommen, muss man durch den Hof (wo Leute chillen), was nicht sehr angenehm ist.

Comfortable beds and ok wifi Apart from that it’s pretty bad, bathroom is so far away and super run down, some staff don’t care, owner definitely doesn’t care. It’s okay for sleeping but that’s about it.

Posizione ottima, vicinissimo al Bob Marley museum e a un posticino con locali carini che fa sempre musica dal vivo. Struttura adatta se sei di passaggio perche la stanzona con 20 letti è comunque sempre super rumorosa giorno e notte pero letti comodi e soprattutto ben isolati tra di loro. I servizi (bagni/docce) sono piuttosto pessimi plus non c’è aria condizionata ne niente quindi praticamente una sauna.

Solides Jamaikanisches Hostel.

Okay hostel with one huge dorm, modernly equipped and with AC. Also filtered water is provided. Common areas ok, laundry rates are crazy expensive. The staff was helpful and knew the way around. But unfortunately there was one other guest which should not have been allowed staying. He was Jamaican and ripped other guests off by bullying them into "tours", when you just went out for a drink and then had to pay him crazy.

Staff is so welcoming, informative, & kind. It's like a B&B with a unique charm & hostel all at the same time. Great location. Chill on property, but within a very exciting side of Kingston. Near transportation & food. Safe, but also alive in all the right ways. Thanks Raggamuffin :)

The room, the security and the inside and outside chilling/communal area was great. Tho the kitchen wasn’t looked after very well, also more kitchen utensils would have been needed. I know the kitchen isn’t big, but I remember only seeing three forks… :/

Definitely recommend Ragamuffin Hostel. Most of the staff there are friendly thus helpful. It does feel safe as well.

If you really value home cooking and family atmosphere, this is the hostel you need to stay. They have after hours party almost every night, you do not need to go outside clubbing which makes the place very great to go as security in Kingston is an issue . You will be secure as you need access card to get inside the place . The staffs were amazing and believe me I will go back to stay .

Awesome hostel, great location and really welcoming vibe. Staff member Destiny in particular went above and beyond for us and was super friendly and helpful with getting to know the area.

washing maschine and the dryer looks really dirty. This defenetly needs to be clesnd up agsin.

I recommend staying here. The beds were clean and soft. The staff were smiley faces.

Super hostel! Sehr sauber und freundliches Personal. Hatte den female dort für 2 Nächte gebucht, aber musste dann nach einer Nacht das Zimmer wechseln, weil jemand anderes wohl vor mir gebucht hat. Verstand ich nicht ganz, aber ok. Betten sind bequem, Küche könnte etwas mehr Equipment haben, zum Beispiel mehr als einen Löffel. Ich würde wiederkommen!

A great place to live. Young, friendly receptionists, atmosphere, events. I love this place, it's neither too small nor too big. Jamaica forever in my heart💛 I’m working on it to be back. Blessing from Colombia now.

Nice hostel, really clean. Maybe the highest standard in Jamaica.

The hostel feels safe and secure and is in a good location. Aircon is such a bonus, though the kitchen and showers were a little basic. Has good social/chill spaces and really handy having the cafe next door. Wifi was good too and also was nice being able to do your own laundry and use the line to dry. My only criticism is that sometimes it was difficult to know who was working reception/ sometimes there wasnt anyone there.

Best Hostel in the West Indies. Wilson is the man.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hostel, tje beds are large and comfortable with everything you need. Privacy curtains and power outlet etc. the hostel looks cool too. I just thought it was odd because when I extended by one night (direct with the hostel) and i was charged 50,000 JMD when it was cheaper on HostelWorld. It is quite expensive but I will say it’s a lovely hostel.

Good hostel, very friendly owner. Was clean when I came, got good tips from the staff, enjoyed the stay. Recommend if you want a social place in Kingston.

Es un hostel simple, con las comodidades basicas, las habitaciones compartidas son como de a 20 camas aproximadamente y cuenta con aire acondicionado. Lo mejor de este hostel es que queda cerca de la casa museo de Bob Marley!
