+ Friendly staff and cheap. Hot water.
- Beds are so uncomfortable you can feel the springs. They squeak a lot which is not ideal considering the early starts for tours like bromo. Only 2 toilets both right in front of the common area upstairs and down stairs so no privacy. 2 blankets provided but no towel provided. No breakfast available. I booked transport with the hostel directly from the bromo tour to avoid going back on myself, therefore packed my bag and took it on the jeep with me, only to be told Bali is “closed” that day. Then pickup was changed to 4-6pm then suddenly to 2pm then when I had waited 2 hours (I was told they were stuck in traffic), the lady in reception told me it was always been a 5pm pickup. It felt like they kept lying and they claimed it all was a misunderstanding. That transport took 16 hours when I was told it would be 6-8.
The shared dorms are €5 per night which have AC; I paid €22 per night and only got a fan with no AC. Only one shower in the hostel. I booked a bromo tour through the hostel which picks you up at 12:30am in the morning. I asked the receptionist if I needed to book an extra night? She said yes so I paid. When I got back from the tour I checked my app and realised the extra night wasn’t needed so I asked for a refund as it was 10am and I was checking out that morning. The manager refused

Wir haben ein Privatzimmer gebucht und die 3d2n Tour zum Tumpak Sewu Wasserfall, Bromo und Ijen. Nach der Buchung wurde uns gesagt, dass das gebuchte Zimmer überbucht sei und es nur noch den Dorm gebe. Die Anzahlung für das Privatzimmer haben wir erst nach wiederholter und langer Diskussion erhalten. Die Mitarbeiter wollten uns für blöd verkaufen und offensichtlich abziehen. Danach wurde uns noch ein Early-Check in berechnet, den wir nie gebucht haben. Die Tourorga wurde schlecht kommuniz...
We booked a private room and the 3d2n Tour to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, Bromo and Ijen. After booking we were told that the booked room was overbooked and there was only the Dorm. The down payment for the private room we only received after repeated and long discussion. The staff wanted to sell us out and obviously leave. Then we were charged another Early-Check in, which we did not book. The Tourorga was poorly communicated.
+ Das Personal war unfassbar freundlich und hilfsbereit und die über das Hostel organisierten Touren zum Mt. Bromo und Tumpak Sewu waren absolut traumhaft! Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist super und der Aufenthalt war sehr unkompliziert.
- Wir hatten ein Vierbettzimmer mit eigenem Bad. Leider gab es in diesem Bad jedoch weder Warmwasser noch Waschbecken, sodass wir doch überwiegend den Gemeinschaftsbereich nutzen mussten. Dieser war leider nur bedingt sauber. Die Betten haben leider sehr geknarzt und das Hostel ist eher etwas außerhalb.

- KM diluar agak repot, lokasi masuk jalannya kurang lebar.
+ Super kompetentes Personal, Ausflüge direkt zu buchen. Tee und Kaffee gratis, man kann Küche benutzen
- Hellhörig, Unterkunft etwas abgewohnt, für eine Nacht jedoch ok

- Bathrooms aren’t great and not great sound insulation

- You are not allowed to use shoes inside and if you go to toilet you have to go barefoot - sometimes the floors were wet and I did not now, if they are because someone peed around the toilet or because someone cleaned the floor. Also the towels were plastic and they smelled very bad.

Joined their Tumpak Sewu waterfall day trip and it was the adrenaline rush I wanted. The hostel prepared proper trekking sandals and a dry bag, which showed real professionalism. Our local guide was funny, patient, and knew exactly where to stand for that iconic rainbow shot at the canyon base. The included lunch box was tasty too. Great vibe and super clean! Met awesome travelers in the common area over free coffee every morning. Location is perfect just 5 minutes by bike to alun-alun and street food stalls. WiFi is strong too. One tiny thing: the shower water pressure drops a bit during peak hours. But honestly, for this price and atmosphere, it's a steal
Came for Mount Bromo, stayed extra days because the city surprised me. Hostel has a relaxed backpacker vibe not too loud, not too quiet. Bunk beds have these thick mattresses that feel like memory foam. The guy at reception drew me a map to the best rawon in town (it was legit). Breakfast simple but enough.

The hostel is lovely and the dorm is very nice with open windows and a terrace with a big table where you work. Special mention to the girls who work there Olivia, Genta,Fara,Aisha,Gaby and Linda they where so helpful and very nice! :)
After busy Java cities, this felt like a retreat. The back garden has fish pond, bamboo, and plenty of shade. I spent an afternoon just reading there. The dorm was only half full so I had space. Mattresses are thin but okay for two nights. They offer free refill water. The owner is an older lady who quietly makes sure everything runs well. Location is slightly out of center but I liked the peace. A hidden calm spot in Malang.
The place has a relaxed, friendly vibe without being too loud. Dorms are simple but clean, and the mattresses are surprisingly comfortable. The common area is great for chatting with other travelers or just reading. What stood out most was the host super helpful and always smiling. They even recommended a great local spot for bakso. Good location, easy to explore the city. Would definitely stay here again. Great value for backpackers looking for a genuine experience.

My partner and I booked two nights in here and immediately extended to four. Our budget room opened onto a deck over a koi pond. We ate pineapple pancakes while geckos clicked overhead. The owners quietly arranged a driver to Tumpak Sewu before the crowds and later taught us to fry tempe.
That hostel was awesome, right in a local Malang spot with tons of cheap eats. The staff, especially Gaby, were super friendly and welcoming. I even got a welcome message when I booked, and Gaby was so warm and welcoming. I then booked the volcano and waterfall tour with her, and the pickup and drop-off were flawless. Thanks.

I stayed at ZZZ for three nights while exploring Malang and Bromo, and honestly, I couldn’t have picked a better spot. As a solo traveler, I was a bit worried about feeling lonely, but that wasn’t an issue at all. The common area is super cozy and easy to strike up conversations with other backpackers I ended up joining a couple of people for dinner and even shared a Bromo tour with them. The dorm beds are comfortable, with good curtains for privacy, individual reading lights, and power out...
The vibe here was so relaxed. I felt at home the moment I arrived. The décor was simple but charming, and everything was spotless. The staff also helped me plan my day trips around Malang. Their advice saved me time and made my adventures stress free.
I had a fantastic experience in Malang. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful they even gave me great tips on local food and nearby attractions like Mount Bromo and the colorful villages. The hostel is clean, well maintained, and has a cozy, laid back atmosphere. The beds are comfortable with privacy curtains, reading lights, and power outlets. The common area is perfect for meeting other travelers, and the free Wi-Fi worked well throughout.
