I chose Tequila Sunrise Sydney because I had very positive past experiences with the brand, including a long stay at their Gold Coast hostel. Up until the final day, my stay in Sydney had also been pleasant. However, my experience changed completely due to the behavior of the staff member in charge at reception on January 7th. Do not stay at this hostel! I felt unsafe the moment I arrived. Staff were unhelpful and was waiting almost an hour at reception before anyone even tried to get me to my room. There was water dripping from the ceiling and the bunk beds were broken.

El personal amable,pero no cumplió mis expectativas. me quedé en el tequila de surfer paradise en GC y pensé que el de Sydney iba a ser parecido pero no lo fue. Los baños son mixtos! Y eso no lo aclaranen la página! Están muy sucios, y son incómodos y hay muy pocos para la cantidad de camas que hay. La cerradura digital de Mi cuatro estuvo rota toda mi estadía, con lo cual podía entrar cualquier persona. El desayuno está bueno. La cena no. Y las camas están limpias.

Beds are by far the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on and you are given a flat pillow and a scraggly blanket that you would find on a dog bed, no duvets. Also, there was nowhere to padlock away my valuables and to top it off my room doors entry pad was broken so the room was unlocked for most of my stay

No locks on door of hostel or rooms that worked where people could walk in off of the street and into rooms/ luggage space

This place seemed fine online but it definitley wasn't that good. It was quite small and crowded and just did not seem like a very good vibe. I decided to leave and stay at another place when I got there so I never saw the rooms.

- Way too few bathrooms and showers for the number of people per floor. - The floors were so creaky and the capsules not securely fastened to the walls that whenever you (even gently) walked through the room, all the pods would shake as if it were an earthquake - Several couples were staying in my room in the same, so the occupancy in my room was even higher than listed. - I booked an 8-bed room and was still placed in a room with 16-20 people and received no discount to offset the change

Good location and friendly staff. There could be more group activities but the free dinners are good for meeting people!

Lovely spot, lovely staff! I really enjoyed the dinner and breakfast, pretty good! The reception team is so friendly, Claudia was so helpful!

Gran recibimiento en este bonito hostal en la zona céntrica de la ciudad con una comida muy buena preparada por Cintia y un acogedor recibimiento por parte de Claudia en la recepción. Muy buen rollo con el resto de inquilinos.

The kitchen is really small, there are not many bathrooms/showers for each floor but the free breakfast and dinner was great. The bunks were amazing- loads of space, shelving and a clothes hanger, lamp and individual fan. I didn’t find the hostel very social- lots of long termers/cliques but it was fine for a few nights. Also very close to train stations

We had booked a 10 bed dorm but were placed in a 16 bed with no communication. Most people staying in this hostel are living there so not a very good vibe for people travelling.

Amazing place, the perfect hostel for backpackers that want to meet new people or just have a place near everything in Sydney. One of the few hostel with curtains for each bed, allowing you to have privacy and a personal space.

Jason was such a great help at the reception and so friendly! Highly recommend!

Good facilities, comfortable beds with curtains, laundry machines, and the free dinners are a great bonus. As for location, hard to be more central

We had a magnificent time at TSH, location was really good and the whole property was very clean, staff were friendly and the meals were great. Also lots of really friendly chatty people and very diverse with people from many different countries. Jason was the top man too!

Breakfast and dinner included is a major plus. Location is central and near public transit. Serious lack of toilets and showers, and only one washer and one dryer. They need more bathrooms and more washers/dryers. Love the set up of the beds though. Lots of room to store your stuff. Very comfy pod.

Definitely one of my favorite hostels along the east coast! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the hostel gets cleaned daily and is always really tidy! I especially loved the vibe here, many people stay several weeks and it feels like a community you can easily join! The free breakfast and dinner is a big plus for me and always tasted amazing! It also brought everyone together, as it felt like a family dinner every evening :) Will 100% come back!!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Tequila Sunrise. Some of the facilities are small, but cleanliness was very positive. Staff is super friendly! Shoutout to Michael and everyone else at the front desk for being so friendly and helping with all the requests! Always again! Cheers, Chris

Oh, so, ah, I really liked the hostel! Jason is super attentive, the place is really clean, and the staff are very welcoming. Highly recommend it!

The hostel was nice, cosy and the Kenger was very cooperative with me.

I'm amazed this hostel has such a high rating. most of us who booked a 10 person dorm were squeezed into an 18 person dorm with very little space for bags. Atmosphere was okay but with such a tiny common area it was made harder. there were 3 showers per floor (with 30-60 people per floor). Really regretted booking this place.
