Pretty disappointed with this hostel, much more expensive than it should be. The photos don’t look like it at all. Bathroom door was broken on the first day and would lock itself. Ants all over the kitchen pots. Too many beds in the dorm so have to put bags in lockers outside the room. One bathroom/shower for all the guests. Shower was freezing. (I’m pretty used to cold showers) owner wasn’t interested in guests, 10% charge on card. We also had no running water for an evening.
Got a room with no proper door, no AC or fan, no mirror and a very hard matress. Seems like they have a problem with overbooking. Lockers for backpacks is outside a short walk from the doorm, and has no lightning. The pictures is not representativ with what you get. Cute dog tho
One bathroom for two dorms, and when the bathroom door was broken it wasn't repaired. When there was no water in town it seemed like they didn't care and didn't provide any workarounds. They have dogs and cats and the dogs always attacked the cats until I had to see with my own eyes how one cat got killed by the dogs - thanks for that experience
We booked the Host due to the good reviews. unfortunately there is only one bathroom for everyone, which is already dirty in the morning. the 7 Waterfall Tour with the Hostel was great, however the organization is a bit complicated as there is rarely a contact person...
The hostel has a small but nice social area, which is great for meeting new people. The beds were comfortable and have curtains, however the room is very small and you have to store your belonging outside. There is only one shower/toilet and it didn’t lock for the majority of our stay. The kitchen was big but not very clean. Our biggest issue was the hostel owners dog consistently attacking the pet kittens, this problem was raised several times till eventually the dog killed one of the kittens...
All the staff, Oscar and his dog Lluvia are lovely. The restaurant is nice (small sides, pizzas, pastas...). You can leave your bags after checking out. Possible to rent motorbikes from the hostel. Sad I have to admit I was a bit disappointed as the pictures (dorms and bathrooms) look way better than it is in real life. Only one bathroom with toilet shared between 2 dorms. Shower is dirty and has either no water at all or cold water. So all in all atmosphere is nice but facilities are not great.
There was no wifi, no hot water, and the bathroom stayed looking pretty dirty. The only thing advertised was the wifi and staff said there was nothing to be done about the wifi not working.
Good hostel with a good location in Juayua. However, there was only one bathroom (which had the only shower and toilet) between 12 people. The storage lockers were also outside the main area and surrounded by a pool of water, which made it difficult to retrieve belongings
Nice hostel, very chill and relaxed. The hostel had no running water for 2 days - no shower, so flushing toilet or usable kitchen sink. Because of this I wouldn’t stay again
I fell for the marketing photos and thought this place looked really good. The garden is lovely, but the hostel part needs some work. Definitely needs another shower and toilet, two dorm rooms fighting over one bathroom was not ideal! The staff was nice and the vibe overall is really good, just needs some improvement on the facilities. Then this place would be incredible!

Great stay here! Staff and owner were great and help with everything. There is only 1 shared bathroom for the dorms up top. Other than that the place is great tucked away In the forest!
Honestly the staff feels more like a family than a group of strangers. From the moment you walk in it’s all love. Also one of the volunteers is a chef and he made probably the best food in El Salvador, I’d go back just for the food he makes
The time spent at the hostel was simply fantastic! The staff (Oscar, Andy, Helios, Marco), tours and hospitality of everyone there made my stay amazing. With no doubt I will go there if I step by Juayua again!
Amazing hostel definitely stay here if you’re in Juayua! They had so many activities for the guests to do throughout every day we were there! The staff were so lovely and really friendly it felt like one big family. The food is also amazing here! One of the staff Oscar gave us a lift to San Salvador, he was such a funny and kind guy even through the language barrier - same goes for all the staff, would definitely recommend!
Positives + Beautiful setting + Next to center of Juayua + 5min walk from Rick's Hostel (rent motos to go around Ruta de Las Flores) + Huge lockers + Sinks to do laundry outside (or pay for machine) + Great food at hostel ($5-8 for a meal) and local food nearby ($3-5 for a meal) + Curtains on bed Negatives - 1 sink/shower for 10 beds - staff asked that I put backpacks in outdoor lockers - had to unpack everything - bathroom had toilet paper stuffed in a hole in the door to cover it, lock requir...
Das Que Ondas Hostel has a really great atmosphere and offers many tours, as well as evenings of shared dining or other activities. all the staff were super friendly and always available for any queries or even just for exchanges and it was noticed that they are a super team underneath each other. the dorms, kitchen and bathroom are clean and offer plenty of space and there are also many common areas besides a great big garden.
I had a great time here. The staff is very kind and makes you feel at home. The hostel is surrounded by nature and in a good location. They organize activities, so there’s always something to do. You can relax or party, depending on what you’re looking for. The kitchen is well organized, the rooms are good, and everything is very clean. I recommend the waterfall tour and the hot springs. really worth it
Lovely hostel in a beautiful space. 7 waterfalls hike was very fun. Only one bathroom for two dorms and the kitchen wasn’t too clean. There is a kitten living in the hostel which climbs over the surfaces and shelves, so not very hygienic
Adorei meus dias em Que Ondas! A cama é super confortável, todos foram super prestativos, o restaurante e bar muito bons e os tours e atividades incríveis, como o de sete cascadas, coffee tour e ladies night. Recomendo muito para ter uma experiência completa!

Overall the hostel was good for me. Pros: friendly and helpful staff, beautiful scenery, good location, daily tours, access to rental scooters, good mattresses and pillows. Cons: only one shower which wasn’t the cleanest (2 toilets though). The town ran out of water (which isn’t their fault) and they didn’t provide any water to use for flushing. Also there was a consistent problem with the dogs attacking the cats which I think they could have managed better.
Beautiful house!! Closed to everything while being a little outside for tranquility. Oscar is putting a lot of effort to create a cosy atmosphere where people feel at home, and it works 😌 Would love to come back anytime!
Amazing place, super social and friendly with lovely volunteers and staff. The hostel ran activities are really good super helpful with anything you need. Bedrooms are great with curtains and comfy bed, would just be better if there was an extra bathroom/ shower but would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Juayua!
Great hostel and great staff slightly annoying there’s only 2 bathrooms and one of them the door doesn’t lock properly. Apart from pretty good
Great hostel. Oscar is a great host and it is like a family vibe with not too many guests. They also run nice events in the hostel too. Great facilities but could maybe do with an extra toilet and shower.
Qué Ondas is such a gem! The property is beautiful and peaceful. The 8-bed dorm is small but the comfy beds and privacy curtains make it worth it. The kitchen is basic but sufficient for simple meals, and I loved the giant outdoor sectional. The only feedback is additional bathrooms/showers for the dorms (which seem to be in the works for the future). The owner really tries to take you out to as many local spots and events as possible, which was really refreshing. Un abrazote para Lluvia!
Great hostel, Oscar’s a great host and lots of fun on the waterfall hike. Really social and comfy beds in the 4 bed dorm. Only main downside is 1 bathroom/shower for 12 people. Overall we loved it though! Had a great time
Nice hostel, very quiet and great for resting. There isn’t much of a social atmosphere, but I did meet some people in the common area. I was a bit disappointed when I arrived compared to the photos, but I still had a good stay. However, one bathroom for all the guests is really not enough.
