Steffi's Hostel Heidelberg

Friendly staff, convenient location by bus/train station, and big kitchen & common area were nice. However super strange hostel as most people staying there were quite old and seemed to be staying long term. It wasn’t very friendly in dorm rooms and older individuals made me feel pretty uncomfortable at night while trying to sleep… if you’re looking for an easy place to stay before or after a bus/train this would be good but it’s definitely not a normal backpacker spot for young people

The staff at the front desk were nice, but the place felt void of any atmosphere. I only ever heard the people from my dorm room walk around despite there being many rooms. My bed was fine but the sheets were dirty and the duvet cover had a hole that looked like a mouse chewed through it. There was little privacy and my bag did not fit in the lockers provided. It's in an old office so it doesn't feel homey at all. I think I heard a mouse in our trash bc it woke me up at 4 am.

this has to be the strangest hostel I've stayed in! it has no traveller hostel vibes. It looks more like a shelter home than a hostel really! there were middle aged and old men living there, the women's bathroom had no door that could fully shut, they said there would be breakfast but in my 5 days there I saw it only once! the only positive is its location close to the train station.

Pros: Really really nice and helpful staff Close to the main station so super convenient Laundry for €5 Cons: It seems that there are people staying here who either can't find or afford a place to rent long term in the city. So there are a lot of older/non travelers staying in the hostel. I don't easily feel uncomfortable but I truly don't want to see a older lady in her underwear doing stretches etc. I realise the hostel have no control who books, but I would think maybe an age limit...

Great location. Women's dorm was very spacious. The kitchen was nice and well equipped. Having said that, I didn't feel any hostel vibes. Feels like a place for school trips or families.

Somehow unclean, squeaky and unstable beds, the location made up for it!

This hostel was good, though it's location compared to the main town was quite unfortunate as it was quite a long walk between the town and the hostel. The breakfast was quite good, and the kitchen facilities were good, but there wasn't a great deal of atmosphere there. The staff were friendly, helpful, and faultless really, and the facilities were clean in my experience.

The atmosphere was lacking for me. This could have been because of the timing when I was there, but there wasn’t anyone else around really, and it was almost too quiet! The location was conveniently close to the HBF but it was quite the trek to the Old Town.

It was too hot to sleep in August.

Está muy bonito, lo único malo es que es muy caro para ser hostal y no brindan más que la cama y agua caliente.

My stay at Steffi's Hostel was last-minute, due to getting locked out of my flat at night. Despite this, the kindness and cheerful and resourceful attitude of the receptionist made my day. I was provided with all the necessities I would need for such an unexpected stay. The room and showers were clean, the room (all-female 8 beds) was spacious, the bed was comfortable. The staff and general atmosphere were friendly and welcoming. Will come back if I ever forget my keys again!

Everything was clean and our stay was perfect in an all female room. The location was super convenient being in front of the station. Thank youuuu!

super convenient location near the train station , but pretty far from everything else . staff was super nice and helpful . not social with lots of age ranges staying there

Very convenient to station. Top floor (don’t miss the unusual lift!). Light, spacious, kind of cool building on large block. Surprise nice views from windows! 2 x common rooms inc kitchen/dining area & looked more sociable than other reviews have made out. Walls a bit thin & easy to hear walking on floors. Pillow lumpy & bedding insufficient, cold despite heater. Don’t forget to ask for towel too! Bathroom number & quality fine for a hostel. Felt pretty safe returning at night.

Great hostel i met some nice people to but its not massively social

Great spot close to the train station and near enough to easily walk to the city center. Nice decor and staff as well :)

Die Mitarbeiter waren super freundlich, haben mir richtig viel Infos gegeben und auf alle meine Fragen liebevoll geantwortet. Mein Zimmer war sauber und ordentlich. Das Bettlaken hatte allerdings ein kleines Loch. Die Sanitäranlagen waren auch alle sauber.

Lovely place! Can only recommend! The location is good - very closer to the train station (2 minute walk!) but further away from the Altstadt with its famous landmarks (40-ish minute walk!), but easily reachable by public transport (especially if you have the Deutschland-ticket!). The receptionist was really friendly! The rooms & bathrooms were all clean. Would have loved to have an outlet next or close to the bed to charge my phone. But overall I can only recommend & would stay there again!

Súper cerca de la estación de trenes, conocí a mucha gente súper linda y me atendieron súper lindas las chicas de la recepción, hasta me perdonaron 50 centavos porque no me alcanzaba 😭

Excellent stay and hospitality. central location near the train station. Josephine was excellent and gave me good recommendations and set me up with one of the bikes that they offer. Room was clean and showers were hot and drained properly (IYKYK).
