The People - Lille

There were only 2 showers and toilets - both extremely dirty - on one floor. Staff were unable to explain how to use the washing facility. I booked a female dorm but found when I woke up a male had been booked in overnight - surely illegal?!. Very noisy

There were mice in our room. After we requested we were moved. Showers have no temperature control just one setting and it’s like a direct tap stream. Kitchen was full of ants. Rooms were nice other than mice. Good location.

Je recommande fortement cet hostel si vous venez à Lille. C’est un endroit chaleureux avec un personnel à l’écoute et qui est très sympathique. Il y aussi un bar dans le hostel ce qui rajoute une bonne ambiance pour rencontrer des nouvelles personnes. Aussi, toutes les chambres et les toilettes sont très propres.

You don't have a lot of options for hostels in Lille, this one is kind of mediocre while also being relatively expensive. wi-fi was so-so, Lille is small so the location was ok but a long walk from the train station if you have bags.

Seriously one of the worst experiences. So we went twice. First time we were in the kitchen and we saw 2 rats on the same day. Next time a s**muck who wears glasses. Told us we have to split up even though we booked a 8 bed dormitory and we were 4. There was 6 beds remaining!!! So we were annoyed by the fact that we wanted to be together. Then someone from staff said we can do free breakfast. Then that sch**k came and said that it is my problem, because hostel world are responsible for the rooms

I did the check in online, but my reservation canceled , and i was forced to take another room in a hotel , also they didn't accepte to refund me. 👎👎

NO SOAP in the bathrooms on the whole first floor! (What about Covid 19 protection?) There are no lockers in the rooms. The shower works only for 5 seconds. The bathroom inside of the room could use some more thorough cleaning and the mattresses could use some deep cleaning. The location is really good. The staff is nice and international, though it was rude when one of the bartenders kicked out a couple of us who were working online in the bar telling us that the bar was not the hostel. Th...

Great hostel! Really cool location, bar and people! We only had the unfortunate experience of a fourth room quest who had a very distinct sweat odour. Otherwise everything was great!

Il n’y a pas d’espace où on peut se poser pour chiller avec d’autres voyageurs, à part en bas mais c’est un bar donc on ne peut pas avoir nos propres consommations. Il n’y a pas d’activité organisée, rien n’est fait pour qu’on rencontre d’autres personnes. La cuisine ferme à 22h donc on ne peut même pas se poser la non plus. La salle de bain du premier était out of service donc on a dû aller en bas.

Great place to stay, was a little loud at night on a Friday but there was a festival in town so that's fair enough. It stopped around midnight to 1am. Stayed in a private room, beds were comfy, shower was great. Location super walkable. Didn't try out the food at the hostel. Kitchen was clean and well equipped.

The hostel is located in a nice part of the town. Check in was smooth. Staff were friendly. The place has a nice bar and serves food. Drinks were quite expensive for a hostel. The vibe felt like it was more for locals using the bar for a drink. It was hard to distinguish other people who were staying in the hostel. The room was nice. We had a bunk ensuite. It was clean and not too small. The area is cool and the bars nearby we had a good time in. I would stay again

Pour la team douche le soir pas d’eau chaude ! Personnel très sympa. Le bar est cool. Un peu excentre du centre mais pas insurmontable à pieds. Chambre très grande. Pas compris le concept de 2 lockers pour 4 lits. Lits ok. Les rideaux des lits sont hyper occultants :)

Very cosy (even the dorms) and good balance between drinks at the bar and calm in the sleeping areas.

It is really nice for 1 day, not spending alot of time in the room but only using it to sleep! I love how other travelers are super friendly and the staff is welcoming. The cleanliness is the best, found a candy under my bed sheet!

Good value for money. Would stay again.

O hostel não tem muitas pessoas hospedadas e não tem a atmosfera muito integrada como em outros hostels, não tem muitas atividades. A cama do dormitório muito dura e não gostei do chuveiro. Bar e localização bons

Not the most social atmosphere, but I still had a good stay nonetheless. It did what it was supposed to. The staff are friendly. The bar is good. The property was very clean and well maintained overall. I would stay here again if I returned to Lille.

Really great! There’s bunch of kids when I stayed so it’s a little noisy but overall really great stay!

Gut gelegenes Hostel. Die Zimmer sind groß und sauber. Das Bett ist bequem. die Menschen die dort waren, waren sehr komisch und laut. Um mit anderen in Kontakt zu kommen nicht geeignet. die Küche ist schlecht ausgestattet. Die Atmosphäre im Hostel ist nicht sehr einladend.

I encountered racial discrimination during check-in, where my bag was refused for early drop-off while that of a French-speaking guy was accepted. Very heart-broken. I’m glad that another receptionist showed sympathy for my unfortunate experience and willingness to investigate the issue, when I called for booking cancellation. To be fair, racial discrimination is something personal and may not represent the stance of the hostel. So, it’s still a reasonable choice to stay in.

I loved this place! The staff were amazing and so sweet. My friends and I felt very safe; we had locks for our lockers and there is a room to put your suitcase in it leaving. The coffee at the bar is also fantastic. Highly recommend for young travelers!

Room was lovely, position is fantastic, only down is I didn’t see many other travellers/backpackers the bar seemed more full of locals (not an issue). Not a overly “social” hostel but still lovely
