Family Home Chiang Mai

was very dead when i was there, no socialising or anything. room was decent and all clean. location was a bit of walk from the action.

Least comfortable bed I've ever slept on. It was rock hard and lumpy, woke up with a really sore back! The staff, however, are super lovely and the facilities were clean. Can't comment on the atmosphere as I was only there 1 night but the people I did meet were nice.

the bed was way too hard, it’s not that social but family home 2 which is just 5 minutes away and has the same owner is pretty good. most of the time i’ve been over there and had a pretty good time

The hostel itself was great and resourceful with the tours they offer. Love the staff and the fact they do an activity every night. It was not social for a solo traveller like myself. I prefer a lively common area where it’s easy to meet people. Although it was very close to Family Home 2(the sister hostel) so you were welcome to go make friends there. Super friendly staff, always ready to help with recommendations. Will happily have a chat with you and get to know you while chilling on the patio. The hostel is not big so you get a very cozy vibe. Only negative aspect would be that the private room we had was directly in the hostel lobby so it can get quite noisy, and the bed was not very comfortable for 2 persons. Overall, highly recommend!

The staff were lovely! Very helpful and fun to chat to. The luggage storage and adjacent toilet was helpful after a long travel to freshen up and leave bags till check in. The atmosphere is calm and quiet and everyone is friendly and lovely to chat to. Breakfast was delicious and good value- quick to order too. The location is decently close to good bars and restaurants- we had no trouble getting around.

I think I had the only squeaky bed in this hostel and my curtain was not great, I think in any other bed I would have enjoyed my stay a bit more. Overall everything was good though, staff was really nice and helpful.

Great hostel in a good location. Not the best atmosphere but still met some lovely people. Efficient laundry service. Comfy beds. Offer great day activities. Only negative was that we felt a bit ignored at reception when checking out. Overall would recommend family hostel.

Family Home 1 is great. Very clean. Comfortable with a/c. And situated in a more local and quiet area. But still close to the Old Town by walking. Joe is great and even allowed me to check in early after a long flight since there was availability, very kind. Staff helps coordinates tours/activities. And also nice, affordable laundry service. Beds are good and shower/toilet clean.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. They also have discounts with lots of tour companies. The beds were super comfy and the hostel is situated in a quiet area, but still not too far from the center.

Family home was a fabulous place to start my trip in Thailand. The hostel was SO CLEAN - I had a private room and bathroom and it was sparkling clean every day. The bed was incredibly comfortable - I slept so well here. They included 2 water bottles a day, which was much appreciated in the Chiang Mai heat. The laundry was fast and immaculate. Finally, the staff was super friendly and accommodating. All in all, would definitely stay here again!

Best social hostel in Chiang Mai. The facilities are all nice and clean. The common room is the perfect size to meet people, you become part of a big family from day one. The staff and volunteers really friendly and involved as well, shoutout to Sarah, Ai, Pk, Taya, Aummy and Baby

Very good staying here, the hostel itself is little and comfy, very quiet but still near to the gate of old town, the staff is very nice, they will help u for tours and activities near the city!🤙

Had an amazing stay here. Staff were so kind and helpful! Beds are comfy and showers very clean. Good breakfast available to order. Atmosphere is very chilled out which was great for me, and if you want something more social you can walk down to Family Home 2 and is close by.

Nice place, staff really friendly

Clean and quiet hostel that is about ten minutes walk from restaurants and shops. They arrange a nightly event but the Family Home 2 hostel is much more of a party hostel if you want that.

Loved this place and would 100% stay here again in a heartbeat. In fact we would have extended our stay if there was availability!

Super cute small hostel with very wholesome vibes!

Super lovely hostel for my first stay while backpacking. It isn't the busiest hostel but that was perfect for me wanting to settle in, and there was nearly always somebody out on the front terrace to have a chat to if you wanted. They also organise a good number of events, but I did find a few of them cheaper online for the exact same thing (elephant and Doi Inthanon hike).

Great hostel with good staff, nice common space, social vibe without being a party hostel. Daily activities as well. Private room was very nice for the price. Really enjoyed our stay!
