Lazy Bear Hostel

Es war kein Social Hostel und wir waren alleine da aber der Chef war total lieb :) Waren nur eine Nacht deshalb kann ich nicht so viel sagen

This hostel is amazing value in walking distance to the lake, laundry, tooth temple and good bars. The owner Nihal is a legend, who will help you make the most of your time in Kandy. The facilities are basic, but they did the job well. And the layout of the hostel is efficient, with a big balcony and mazanine area.

Really nice calm place a little bit outside of Kandy. The owner and the staff is super nice. They even let me store my things for a night while I was away hiking!

Good hostel. It’s pretty basic but that’s all you need. Host is so friendly.

We had a lovely time at lazy bear, the hosts are very friendly and helpful. The front garden is lovely to chill in and watch the monkeys. We stayed in the private room and it was very peaceful.

Beware! Nice host but very unprofessional.I had booked a double bed with private bathroom for 2 nights. During checkin, I was given a dorm room (with double bed, 2 bunk bed) but he said room and the bathroom outside will be private for me. For the 2nd night, there were many people checked in and the host said others will use my private bathroom as there are many people. Despite having paid extra for private bathroom. He asked me to find a new place at 9PM if i didn’t let others use the bathro...

großartige Lage in einer sehr ruhigen und sicheren Gegend aber dennoch fußläufig vom Stadtzentrum entfernt. Super netter Host, der sich sehr bemüht und den Aufenthalt angenehm gestaltet!

It wasn’t really a hostel vibe as normal, I would classify it more as a guest house as you’re staying in this people’s property and they have dorms/rooms for guests but I didn’t see anywhere other then them the night I stayed in. You should also be back before a certain time as they leave the door open for you. Def not a hostel vibe or place to meet people/hang out

J'ai vécu un séjour incroyable. Tout était parfait. J'ai rarement rencontré des personnes aussi sympathiques. C'est très certainement le meilleur endroit a Kandy.

My stay here was so amazing!!! The host was very welcoming and made sure I had everything I need and more. I felt at home right away. Perfect location very quiet and peaceful but still close to the city center. The space was very cleans, comfortable beds, nice area to do yoga as well! I highly recommend to stay here and will definitely be back. Thank you so much for the most perfect stay I could ask for!! :)

The hostel was overall very nice and clean, it was close to the city center and the owner was really nice to us, recommended places to go to etc. There is also an option to rent a motorbike. They are very flexible when it comes to policies etc too. The only thing was that the door of our dormroom could not be locked from the outside so we did not feel too safe to leave our things there but if you have a padlock then you can leave your staff in secure boxes. Overall excellent!

Good hostel

Decent overnight stay in Kandy. I used it as a stopover, really good value for money and I met some amazing people. The receptionist was very friendly, the only thing that was missing was “hostel atmosphere” in the common area and a mosquito grid on the window.

Nihal was a very nice host. He helped me out a lot, found me the cheapest tuktuk druvers and told me good places to visit. The hostel is nice and clean for a good price.

No access to kitchen facilities, combined with a longish walk to any food outlets is the only downside of staying here. Maybe access to another toilet if the dorms are full . Great view, quiet location. Nice, helpful owner. You may need google translate for the sinhala receptionist :)

Excellent hostel. Very welcoming and friendly hosts. Clean rooms. Great location (10 minutes walk to main streets in Kandy). Good value for money. We had a good time here and would happily stay again. Thanks :)
