Mad Cat Hostel Osaka & Bar

I stayed one night there and I regret staying one night only. Marta, Yoshi and the cat boss Reiko are so friendly and welcoming. The hostel is not a big hostel which makes it feel like home and cozy. It is very easy to meet fellow travelers. The hostel is also well organized and clean. I am definitely staying in that hostel if I go back to Osaka. 10/10

It actually felt like a cult. One staff member made fun of my English. If you are not here 24/7 you are not part of the cult. Wouldn’t recommend going here. The location is also not nice. There was a Spanish girl who was really nice but for the rest it is man’s place there.

Super séjour!! Le staff est super sympathique, les espaces bien pensés, les lits confortables et les chats comme prévu très mignons. On sent que beaucoup de coeur et d'attention ont été mis dans cet hostel et le résultat est un endroit rêvé pour les voyageurs qui veulent se sentir comme à la maison et faire de belles rencontres à Osaka :-)

An absolutely incredible hostel. I loved every second of my stay there. Brilliant staff and volunteers and a super social atmosphere. Highly recommend

The greatest part of this spot is the people you meet and lounge with including the staff, it all feels homey and cozey, chilling with the cats. The bar is also very chill at night, you get to drink with the hostel guest and more people from outside, increadible experience

I think this might be the first review I have ever written, but I felt I had to. This is by far the best hostel I have stayed at in all of my travels. Everyone is always social and in the common area, there is a bar attached, and the staff, Maru and Kogo included, are some of the nicest and friendliest people I have met. I meant to stay for one night, ended up staying for seven. I cannot recommend this hostel highly enough and thank you for making my trip.

Great place! The staff were wonderful and helpful. This felt like I was at home & they actually showed genuine interest in what I was doing. Our stay was wonderful overall!

Loved my time here. The hostel itself is very clean and has an incredible atmosphere. Everyone I met was really cool. Very social place with awesome staff and Reiko, the owner, is one of the coolest people I’ve ever met. Huge shout out to the cats too, tgey work security and made us all feel very safe 🫡

I have stayed in many hostels in many countries, and many of them have been wonderful, but I have never had a better experience than at Mad Cat. Bed is comfortable, showers are great, Rieko and the staff are lovely, Kogo and Maru are beautiful little cats I have not stopped thinking about, but it was the atmosphere which lifted it beyond. It was such a welcoming, social place. I cannot recommend staying here enough. Thank you to Mad Cat for giving me a beautiful experience I will never forget.

Truly a wonderful experience, a home away from home. You won't regret staying here but trust me in that you'll regret it if you don't.

One of my absolute favorite hostels during my solo travels. The staff are mostly international travelers as well, so they speak excellent English. Kugo and Mara (the two cats) are really sweet and make the whole place feel super welcoming. And the common space in the hostel is cozy. The bar gives a free drink every night of your stay as a conversation starter and the hostel is close enough to the nearby izakaya places. Overly an incredible experience.

We enjoyed our stay a lot. The staff is super friendly, kind and helpful. Spending time in the bar of the hostel after the day in the city was our favorite activity. The room was comfy and location was good - close to public transportation and nice restaurants. Bonus; the cats were so lovely!

Had an awesome time at mad cats Yoshi Pedrio and Oscar are top notch staff. If you want to stay somewhere heartwarming communal homely and social theres no better place in Osaka. Maru and Kogo are so cute and friendly.
