Daydream El Medano Coliving

I got a problem/emergencie and tried to email the Hostel ( 3 Times) by email and never got an answer from them. Really bad service.

The only good thing about this hostel was the friendly staff. Except from that it was dirty and messy, sketchy people staying there (didn’t feel safe alone as a woman), nothing social and a weird vibe. I think the good reviews of this place have been in exchange for a free laundry service or something similar - as I was offered myself :)

Very noisy guests with no respect for other guests. Loud phone calls, loud music and talking sometimes after midnight. The staff seems to exist of only volunteers who are at least poor in speaking English, no management available so no one really takes charge. No nice coliving space (although they advertise with it) accept for the roof top which is - even in October - too hot to use.

When I got there, my bed wasn't changed from the last person who left and luckily they put me in another bed in the same room that was clean. The bathrooms were never really clean and there wasn't any soap the whole time I was there (make sure you bring your own). The location is great - it's about 5 minutes walking from some of the best beaches. It was also hard to sleep at night because you could hear everything from the other rooms so make sure to bring earplugs.

The hostel was not the cleanest and there was a lot of noise at night, specifically with people screaming… he was obviously on drugs or drunk so could be a one time thing but worst experience I have had at a hostel.

Overall would not recommend. I haven’t left a bad review for any of my last 15 hostels but really did not enjoy this. Facilities are old and not clean. Showers had lots of sand. Bedrooms were very dirty with guests leaving old food, pizza boxes, and bottles all over. People wise the vibes were very odd. Not social at all. I wouldn’t stay here again. Firstly, the beds are so creaky and noisy that it’s hard to get a good sleep. The bathrooms etc also didn’t feel very clean. There isn’t enough storage in the rooms, which means people have to store there stuff everywhere. The security isn’t great, while it’s key access to the building, all rooms are open to everyone.

I was in the mixed dorm room. It is a really small room with only one window so the air gets really nasty in the night. Also the beds are quite loud when someone moves so make sure to bring earplugs! I didn’t feel very comfortable using the bathrooms and the kitchen. It seemed all a bit “superficially clean” to me but yeah I avoided using them. Still, the location is very very nice. Everything’s close by so you don’t need to spend time in the hostel anyways. Also the price is fair.

Gezellige gastvrije plek, zeer gunstig gelegen naast strand en alle leuke cafés en restaurantjes Kamers klein maar alles is aanwezig, leuk dakterras!

I absolutely loved staying at this hostel and felt at home from the moment I arrived. It’s very social and a great location. The volunteers working there are incredibly kind and welcoming. A special thanks to Ray, Katherina, Luigi, and Camilla they were always there whenever we needed anything. Ray even showed us around the city and gave us great recommendations, which made our stay even more memorable. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to any solo traveller!

Great central location, ideal for buses, taxis, and getting around easily. Very friendly atmosphere, with volunteers who went above and beyond. Special thanks to Ray, Matti, Julian, and Camilla for their kindness and help. Easy place to meet people, nice rooftop, and I also felt very safe here. I was comfortable leaving my laptop in the common area, and everyone was respectful. thanks again to all , will be back again !

Everything was cool

Really loved my stay at daydream Medano, I felt like home, anyone friendly with a positive vibes. The hostel it's super clean , one of the best place where I slept in el medano. Thanks

thanks for having me, had a fantastic time windsurfing in Médano☺️ The hostel was for me the perfect place to stay for a couple weeks, as it is super close to the beach an rental stations. staff is super lovely and welcoming, the hostel itself is rather basic but fully sufficient for me. It is not very spacious but it has a prime location right at the heart of Médano, I can cook my meals and it has a nice roof top to relax 👌

Good location and nice staff but has its flaws. There were definitely some odd characters around and minimal effort to organise social activities, but I still managed to chat to some nice people including volunteers. The coworking space is between 2 toilets and 2 rooms, so it is often not quiet

Very nice and friendly stuff. Loved the Terrasse upstairs and spacey common rooms and multiple kitchens an bathrooms. Could be cleaner and some things are missing,f.e. Lamps at the bed.

I gotta to say that it wasn’t the best experience I had in a hostel. The room was clean but the bathroom was not. The atmosphere was a bit weird as there were a lot of loud and drunk people that weren’t very approachable. There was no space to meet people either. I was literally harassed by one of the girls staying in my room for every sound I made night or day knowing that I’m very respectful. Daydream is a wonderful place to spend your holidays! The hostel is small and welcoming, and both the volunteers and managers were very friendly and kind. Everything was clean, and the kitchen had everything you need for cooking. You can share meals and eat together with other guests, which makes the experience even warmer. Los Chicos fueron muy amables y pendiente! Me hicieron sentir en casa! Truly a lovely Group of Volunteers. The place is cozy but the staff are a gem in el Medano! 💎
