Hello I'm Local Boutique Hostel

This place genuinely gave us bedbugs back in august 2021. We woke up after spending our first night there and discovered little dots of what appeared to be blood on all of our beds. At the time we did not know that having red blood spots on the bed meant there were active bedbugs in the mattress, so we just quickly informed the hotel staff who just gave us new sheets instead of telling us that those little stains are a huge indicator of bedbugs in the room. We all ended up going home not knowing...

I'm sorry to say that I didn't enjoy my stay at 'Hello I'm local' in Haarlem. The location of the hostel was perfect for us, the rooms and common spaces were quite nice and the bed comfortable enough. Unfortunately there was a such a pungent smell of fresh paint/varnish in the room that made it completely impossible to sleep for me. It caused me a headache and burning in my eyes and throat. Opening the window was no help at all since the smell came from the fresh paint on the outside and the nig...

Dorms reeked of alcohol. Beds and the ladders to the bunks are horrible and unsafe Intern staff not even close to professional. Untidy and unpleasant. Will not be revisiting.

Sie haben Bettwanzen und der Service war nicht kundenfreundlich. They have bedbugs and I wouldn‘t recommend this hostel.

The hotel has bed bugs and mice running around freely. When we asked about it, we were offered a new room which also had bed bugs. We then asked about it again and were not offered a new room and we had to leave the hotel.

Some of us had a Bedbug invasion. The Fight lasted 3 whole days. 6 of us deserted and left the combat zone. Luckily we didn’t have any casualties on our side but we lost a lot of territory. The Amount of Casualties of the Opponent forces is unknown, but the Outcome is Clear: Victory for the Bugs.

BED BUGS!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The owner and staff KNEW there were bed bugs and STILL let my boyfriend stay in the infested room. Now we have to deal with not spreading them to our house. THIS PLACE SUCKS.

We went there to have a coffee break during our trip in Haarlem. Friendly service, great atmosphere and the coffee was really good, accompagnied by a piece of stroopwaffel. Nice concept and I would come back any day in a heart beat ☺️

Hele fijne plek in Haarlem. Super sfeer, rustig en gezellig, lekkere koffie en leuk personeel. Voelde me 3dagen thuis!

My stay at the hostel was very good. I'd recommend the hostel to anyone travelling to Haarlem and I'd surely love to come back.

Il tout est très bien. Il est juste dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de rideaux au lit permettant plus d'intimité et de ne pas être gêné par la lumière des autres personnes.

Had such a lovely stay here! Very welcoming and kind staff, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hostel was such a warm and inviting environment. Would definitely recommend!

Hello I'm local is een heerlijk hostel, waar je zeer gastvrij ontvangen wordt en waar ze met je meedenken. De kamers zijn schoon en de bedden zijn fijn. Het ontbijt is heerlijk en de afstand naar het centrum is een gezellig loopje. In Haarlem zitten zoveel leuke winkels, restaurants en terrasjes dat je bijna teveel keuze hebt... Het gevoel van Hello I'm local is alsof je thuiskomt op een andere plaats.

Het was heerlijk! Super relax sfeertje, lekker eten, vriendelijke mensen vol met goede tips over deze geweldige stad. Het enige 'minpuntje' was het alarm op de kamerdeur als hij niet helemaal in het slot viel.

Clean Space Comfy beds

We loved Hello I’m Local. I stayed for four days in a two-person room with my mother. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The cafe did a nice simple breakfast and surprisingly excellent coffee. It was just on the edge of the town center in a pleasant neighborhood. An easy walk to major sights. I would absolutely stay again.

Personnel charmant. Locaux très propres. Situation idéale dans Haarlem , nous avons eu la chance de trouver une place gratuite pour notre voiture. Nous avons pu nous rendre très facilement à Amsterdam par le train. Et un soir nous avons assisté à une réunion de musiciens chanteurs avec un répertoire de chansons irlandaises: très émouvant !!

Richtiges Herzstück in Haarlem. Meine Travel-Partnerin und ich meinten beide das ist das Beste Hostel bei dem wir je übernachtet haben. Ich glaub das liegt vor allem am Vibe. Der Ort hat eine richtig schöne warme Energie, willkommenheissend. Der Cappuccino ist richtig lecker. Ruhig gelegen an einer der schönsten Kanalecke der Stadt 🤍

Kitchen was small, but overall very nice & clean facility would definitely recommend staying here! Safe area & perfect running routes!!

Super gezellig! Met 10 personen geslapen, ontzettend leuke kamer en schoon en netjes! Ontbijt was ook top geregeld. Dankjewel!

Great location for comedy show. Bar is really lovely.

The staff at this hostel were all so welcoming and kind. They gave excellent recommendations for places to see in Haarlem as well as restaurants to try. The atmosphere was so serene and it was a great change of pace from the city. I will have to plan another trip to stay again!

Everything was great except 2 males in the mixed dorm snored super loud both nights I was there

We loved the place, nice, friendly, clean, nice breakfast and the cosiest town I would like to come back to. Really a good experience. I dont need a hotel when this Hostel is so nice.
