My Mate's Place

I think the location is ok, but you have to walk a bit from the pier. we had bugs in our bed, and the sheets were not clean. We could have told the staff, before we booked another accommodation, but we decided to just leave right away. It was also nearly no one staying at the hostel at the same time as us, so it was boring

De kamers zaten helemaal onder de schimmel. Het rook zo erg naar schimmel dat je er amper kon ademenen, ik ben hier ook ziek van geworden. Verder is het helemaal niet hygiënisch. Niks is fatsoenlijk gepoetst. Erg jammer….

I hate it

The staff & location are the only things we enjoyed. If you’re 18-21 and a party animal you may like this place for the free shots, nights out, etc but my friends and I range from 23-26 and we did not like the vibe here. This hostel is very party and s*x centric and we felt like it was almost weird how much the two were being pushed. We left our stay half way through. If you’re not looking to blackout or for hookups, maybe this isn’t your place. If you are, you’ve found the perfect spot!

Seeing the great reviews my partner and I were excited to stay here and happy to pay the ratter high price for a hostel. We booked the 1 bed private room. Unfortunately this was not our experience, and looking at the poor reviews on here I now agree. The most expensive hostel, and by far the worst value for money. - stark schimmlige Betten (Decke + Kissen) -> wurden getauscht auf Anfrage -> neue Bettwäsche hatte mehrere Blutflecken - keine Handtücher bei Eintreffen verfügbar, erst am Folgetag erhalten - strenger Geruch im Zimmer (nach Bier/Erbrochenem/Schimmel) - angepriesenes Frühstück von 7:30-10:30 nur ab 9 verfügbar, davor geringe Auswahl à la carte - Klimaanlage nicht einstellbar: nur laut und eiskalt oder aus - Pool und Badezimmer waren schön - soziales Hostel, gut zum Leute kennenle...

Overpriced, overrated, rude staff. Too big, atmosphere awful. Free food they give is such minimal stuff it will never be enough. No Wi-Fi. £17 a night I’d stay elsewhere. Not worth the money.

One of the more expensive hostels I stayed in but the least pleasant one; facilities are very poor and the rooms are horrible. The bedding was dirty when I came in but admittedly when pointed out to the staff they changed it immediately. rooms are very aged and resemble a prison cell, dark and dull and smell a bit mouldy. Despite deciding to not even stay a single night I had to pay for 3 nights as that’s their ‘minimum stay’ rule. When I decided to leave the staff were a bit rude.

Hostel has the atmosphere of a public swimming pool. Everything is concrete. My private room wasn’t in good condition. No remote for the AC with a room under the roof. Safety box didn’t work, bathroom was smelly, no WiFi in the room. I tried talking to the reception about it. They were annoyed and told me they can’t do anything about the WiFi. Bathroom wasn’t cleaned even though I asked for it. Location is in a dark road outside of the town center.

Worst room we’ve stayed in on our trip so far. Smell of damp, mould going up the wall by the bed and all over bathroom ceiling, sheets felt damp. Had a 15 hour power cut (not hostels fault) and only 2 small lanterns in use for the bar area none in rooms, generator was apparently broken. Local staff at bar run off their feet and were excellent but seemed to lack a manager in times such as the power cuts. Good social atmosphere but wouldn’t stay again. Disappointing.

Best hostel I have stayed at. Incredible atmosphere - great rooms. Reps were super fun and the vibes were very active at night but chill in the day. Would highly recommend

I originally was going to stay there for 3 nights but ended up extending to 5 because it was so nice there. The staff were lovely especially Paula she really made me feel welcomed and helped me with any issues i had! Overall a great experience

This Hostel was great, but it wouldn’t have been as great without the Rep Paula. she was absolutely amazing and we will miss her so much!! The pool was really good and the strawberry smoothies were incredible. The staff were so fun and a great laugh on a night out. definitely recommend

Very social & homely hostel. Great people, beds are comfy and the food is amazing. Their excursions are the best aswell (boat party!!)

One of my favorite places on my trip!! The staff was sweet and the wrap Hunter was amazing!!! She was the best at including and truly what was made my trip!!! And she was good at partying, even when she wasn’t wasted!!! All love to the hostel and the staff

We had a fab stay here for 3 nights! Staff were great , shoutout to the rep Fiky! - he was so welcoming, great energy and always down for a boogie on the dance floor , great recommendations for the island. He truly made our stay 10x better :) Vibes were high, great relaxing communal space and also perfect for evenings. Clean and comfortable rooms. Accomodating shared bathrooms. Would stay here again :))

Very friendly and enthusiastic staff, clean, nice activities! Location is a little bit outside but it’s fine as the island is small.

The best hostel I have stayed in. Such lovely staff and a great atmosphere especially at night with drinking games.

Loved my stay at my mates place, was such a fun atmosphere with different things happening each night, and the boat party was the highlight of my trip ! Is really close to the main strip and turtle point. Staff were so nice and made my stay would recommend !

The place was very very quiet. Atmosphere was very different than advertised. I went to other hostels and were better to hang out .. with more chill vibes

Great location, not too far from the beach as well as restaurants, cafes, shops and bars. The atmosphere at night in the property is so much fun and the reps here get everyone involved and it’s always a funny night every night. Would definitely recommend here and I would definitely come back in the near future.

I honestly had a great time here as a solo traveller who turned up tired, I was very welcomed into the social side of it but also had a chance to relax there. It’s also only a 10 min walk to the main port, which made everything a bit easier. The staff also helped me arrange transport when I was back in Lombok. Have to say as well, Fikri was great, he was super inclusive and fun

Place is nice and the breakfast was so good big portion very nice common area beautiful pool to chill and very clean. I didn’t like the shower was very very salty water.
