Train Lodge Amsterdam

Rooms were very small and pretty stuffy. Showers and toilets are small and there aren't lots of them. It is exactly like sleeping on a train. Not super comfy and expensive for what it is.

Extremely expensive for what it is. Tiny berths in train carriages. Six cramped into each carriage so the top one is so high up you’ll probably suffer from vertigo. No lockers for your luggage and no keys on doors. The luggage has to stay on the floor but the space is so tiny you’ll most likely have to keep it in your tiny berth. The only good thing about it is the location as it’s next to the train station and coach station. One stop away from Amsterdam Central.

I just would like to know, why apart from my payment for the night in train lodge. I had to pay another extra 11.34 euros to the website company? My card was charged more than I expected it.

Not good value of money. Firstly and most importantly the train was very dirty especially the bed where we found hair and dust. Safety was provided only by staff which was weird to not have a key for your own staff. Didn’t sleep for 2 out of 3 nights due to the size and comfortness of the ‘’bed’’. It’s has a cute reception area at least! It’s only worth it for the location next to the bus station and the experience of being on a train. Otherwise everything is terrible and your belongings aren’t safe. Only hostel I have ever stayed where there is no personal area to lock your stuff anywhere and most of the bathrooms didn’t have running water to wash your hands. Beds go 3 high and no floor space. Also annoying being so close to the trains that run every 10-20 minutes. I would never ...

3 people could not all stand up together in the 3 person room, was extremely extremely small, could also hear everyone in the surrounding rooms from our “private” room. Shower did not lock properly. Sink was broken. You had to ask staff to lock and unlock your room every time you leave/arrive, which added an extra 5 minutes to either side. Novel for 1 night but 5 nights was unbearable.

Oké hostel. Lekker centraal en je bent snel bij Schiphol. Ik vond dat er weinig sanitaire voorzieningen waren naar verhouding van het aantal bedden. Ik paste ook maar net in het bed terwijl ik 1,80 ben. De bedden zijn erg krap. Het hostel is oké maar te duur voor wat je krijgt.

The receptionist was weird, probably drunk/ drugged, when we left the hostel he was sleeping on the table with very red eyes and he spoke weird. Not very nice atmosphere.

Property much smaller than expected. All areas (rooms, bathrooms, common areas) were quite small and uncomfortable to function in. Rooms could only be locked by staff upon request, entry into the hostel was otherwise open. Rooms were clean, but bathrooms were not always the cleanest. Location was near train station, but a bit out of central city.

Aucune sécurité des biens personnels. Aucunement d'espace pour stocker nos bagages autres que dans le corridor sans surveillance (j'ai donc dormi avec mes bagages dans mon lits (pas à côté, dedans, car l'espace était trop étroit dans la chambre à 6 qui est la plus petite chambre de ce nombre de lit que je n'ai jamais vu). Cet établissement est correct pour une seule nuit où vous ne défaite pas votre valise ou prenez un espace privé...

Staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and flexible for any accommodations! Location is great, good for a solo trip or group stay experience with friends!

The Train Lodge is located at the Sloterdijk railway station in Amsterdam. It is10 minutes by train to Amsterdam Airport & the old town. Railway station Sloterdijk has train connections to all the mayor cities in the Netherlands and that makes the Train Lodge a good starting point to explore the Netherlands

The place is ideal and is literally situated at a train station in Amsterdam so the connections to other places around Amsterdam are great. I had an uppermost bunk which made me feel safe but there was no railing and given that the bed is placed quite far above ground, if I feel this would have been dangerous. The fact that the hostel is a train is a vibe though.

Overall the Train Hostel was a good stay. I was fortunate to get a bottom bunk as they are three high. The washrooms and showers are very cramped and in some the taps didn’t work. Staff was very friendly as were the other travellers I met.

The place is relaxing, the staffs are all approachable and helpful, very clean linens and the shower though it is shared but it’s clean as well, i highly recommend this hotel if you are on a budget but would want to stay in a chill area

Lovely cute place to stay! The design is really unique and the facilities are good (only €2 to rent a towel). It’s a very cosy place! Far from the centre, but really close a the train station. The area is pretty safe, however, walking from the train station at night can feel a little unsafe as a woman (although this is pretty typical where ever). Lots of 🍃 smokers outside. We hebben voor 1 nacht geboekt, van 28 tot 29 augustus. Donderdag 28 was super, we werden heel vriendelijk ontvangen door Nora. Ze deed haar best om ons te helpen, ook de man in de nachtdienst was aardig en behulpzaam. De dag daarop was het meisje niet aanwezig, ze had haar vriendje meegenomen en waren alleen met elkaar bezig te flikvlooien. De sfeer was niet optimaal, bij het afrekenen van de koffie, klopte de rekening niet, was er totaal niet bij met haar hoofd, jammer.

Really nice and novel hostel.

The place is quirky & a lovely vibe but unfortunately you do not have a key/pass to enter your carriage & have to ask staff (I’m sure they are trustworthy. The location is a train stop away from Central & there’s not much in the vicinity but that was also nice to recharge yourself. Not sure about value for money as you’re effectively paying €40 for a single (not that comfortable bed). The staff were very accommodating though & the facilities were adequate. It's a simple hostel, the rooms are small because obviously it used to be a night train. The small bathroom made it feel a bit like camping. Fun for a night and a fun experience!

Great place, good staff.

Loved my stay, it was a beautiful converted sleeper car. It was truly a unique experience that I couldn’t have gotten anywhere else. The staff was friendly and professional. A couple minor points that I’d like to emphasize. I don’t think there were any dedicated lockers for day storage, so as far as I know, you just leave your possessions on your bed with your hostel mates. And if you’re tall (above 6’1-6’2) the beds might be a little small. Figured these were worth knowing.

Por lo general es un alojamiento ideal. El personal es muy agradable y atento, la zona común es estupenda. Las habitaciones son cómodas. El principal problema es no tener taquillas para guardar el equipaje. Mientras estaba fuera, dejé mis cosas en las taquillas de la estación.
