Ik was er voor 3 nachten. Er hing een rare sfeer. In de avond en overdag is er niks te doen. Er staat dat er een ‘zeer coole bar’ is. Maar er is geen bar op het terrein? Lees voordat je boekt de slechte reviews goed door want ze kloppen! ( zeker als solo backpacker )
I was there before 3 nights. there was a strange atmosphere. in the evening and during the day there is nothing to do. it says there is a "very cool bar". but there is no bar on the grounds? read before you write the bad reviews well because they will knock! (especially as a solo backpacker)
Booked a private room the shower was boiling water and couldn’t turn it down. The door doesn’t lock, fridge didn’t work and the small print of cash on arrival needs to be made more clear as I had no cash and there are not a lot of ATMs. The location was good but in comparison to other hostels and their private rooms it’s a very low standard. Expensive and not worth it. Book elsewhere.
Überall Insekten, Moskitonetz am Fenster zerrissen, überall Lücken zwischen Türe und Wand, für eine Woche ein winziges uraltes Handtuch, völlig überteuert. Das einzig Gute sind die Mitarbeiter.
Everywhere insects, Mosquito nets at the window, everywhere gaps between door and wall, for a week a windies uraltes Towel, completely overcontrolled.
We had a private room here, lots of cockroaches, mold, power failure when taking a hot shower which leads to standing in the dark under a cold shower. When it rains, the room or some places on the floor get wet. Towels are not included and there is no oil or salt. For this we paid 55$ per night, a real rip-off.
This place was the most awful hostel I’ve ever visited. one employee from the reception looked like he didn’t give a s*** about anything. The place was dirty all around, looks nothing like in the pics. We had a private deluxe room, which was very outdated, lots of cracks in the walls, lots and lots of ants against the walls and in the bed. The shower looked horrible aswell, I took my showers in the public ones. We booked 2 nights left after 1. Wouldn’t really recommend.
I would’nt stay here again. We could’nt sleep for the entire stay because of the s***** beds in the dorms. Every time the person below me moved the whole bed moved. Really loud aswell. Not very clean. Nice common area. Nice location near beach.

Haben als Paar 4 Nächte in einem Bungalow geschlafen. Gut gefallen haben uns die 2 Outdoor-Küchen, welche gut ausgestattet waren. Die Bungalows waren ganz nett, nachts allerdings trotz Ventilator sehr heiß und es kamen viele Krabbeltiere rein. Die Gemeinschaftsbäder und duschen wurden stark genutzt. Hygiene war ok, der Pool recht dreckig. Zwei Nächte in Folge fiel der Strom im halben Hostel aus sodass eine Küche, Duschen, Bäder und unser Bungalow keinen Strom mehr hatte. Für was es ist z...
Have as a couple slept 4 nights in a bungalow. We liked the 2 Outdoor Kitchens, which were well equipped. The bungalows were very neat, but at night it was very hot despite the Ventilator and many crab dogs came in. The communal bathrooms and showers were heavily used. The hygiene was ok, the pool was quite dirty. Two nights in a row the electricity fell in half the hostel so there was a kitchen, shower, bathroom and our bungalow had no electricity. For what it is too expensive.
Slow check in process, parking is a nightmare there’s like 6 spots and they are always full and you get blocked in, they expect you to leave your car keys at reception so they can move your vehicle if someone needs to get out. We got blocked in the morning we had to leave for the airport, the rooms with dirty and filled with bugs, and altogether the vibe of the hostel was not great. The pool was nice and there were 2 kitchens which was nice. My friend and I will never rebook here.

Super nice hostel. Didnt seem super social but the facilities themselves are great and kept clean. Bed was comfy, also has parking for atvs which was nice
This hostel is very nice. Clean, atmosphere is very friendly with people from all over the world, beds are very nice. 1 room had AC, everything was in order with no problems. Good prices too.

Je n'ai pas été conquise par cette auberge. La piscine est très sympa, les espaces communs assez spacieux pour être au calme quand nécessaire, et c'est globalement propre. Mais sinon, le rapport qualité/prix pour moi n'y ai pas comparé à plein d'autres auberges qu'on a fait au Costa Rica. Pas de café le matin comme annoncé (et pas de cafetière), cuisines communes rudimentaires, pas de clim. Je n'ai juste pas eu la "vibe". 🤷♀️
I was not conquered by this hostel. the pool is very nice, the common areas are spacious enough to be quiet when needed, and it is overall clean. but otherwise, the price/quality ratio for me was not compared to many other hostels we have done in Costa Rica. no coffee in the morning as advertised (and no coffee maker), rudimentary communal kitchens, no air conditioning. i just didn't get the "vibe". ♀️

Bunch of bugs in the rooms, double-booking peoples beds, no social events, and over 25 min walk from anything worth going to. Just stay at lost boys or ESO. Thank me later

Hostelet var väldigt mysigt uppbyggt och ett stort plus var att det fanns två stycken kök och en pool. Vi bodde i privat rum med eget badrum och hade uppskattat om det hade städats iaf en gång under vår 5 nätters långa vistelse. Personalen var väldigt hjälpsam och trevlig!
The hostel was very nicely built and a big plus was that there were two kitchens and a pool. we stayed in a private room with private bathroom and would have appreciated if there were any strangers during our 5 nights long stay. the staff was very helpful and nice!
I've had one of my best hostel experiences at Pura Vida mini hostel! The location is perfect, a couple minutes walking from the beach but also away from the road so you won't be bothered in your sleep. The common area with the pool and outdoor kitchen creates a very social interactive setting, while there is also a small kitchen on the other side if you want less people around you. Furthermore the vibe is amazing, the volunteers who work there really know how to make you feel at home!

Really fun and social hostel, the staff and volunteers were all brilliant and super helpful. I stayed for 6 nights and did not want to leave. Can't wait to be back.
A nice friendly hostel, good pool and common areas. Perfect for a trip to Santa Teresa.
Hostel had a good vibe. Staff was very friendly. The pool was clean. pool table needs a little bit of love and upgrade😀 location is located to the beach which is nice, but a little bit far from the centre. Supermarkets are really close had a really good time there.

Super hostel, confortable avec plein d’espaces différents pour être avec du monde ou au calme, une piscine et une table de billard en libre service. Le personnel est adorable, l’emplacement est parfait, plage, commerces et restaurant à proximité !! Pura vida !
Super hostel, comfortable with lots of different spaces to be with people or in peace, a pool and a pool table in self-service. the staff is adorable, the location is perfect, beach, shops and restaurant nearby!! pure life !
I absolutely loved this place! The staff is really adorable and helpful, the pool and chilling areas are great! Very close to the beach and the supermarkets. I’m already missing this place! Would definitely recommend and come back!!
Probably my favourite hostel I've stayed in! The vibes were so on point, the location was perfect (5 minute walk to the beach and 10 minutes to town), and everyone was so friendly.
Als wir hier waren, war das Hostel leider eher leer, weshalb wir es als nicht so sozial wahrgenommen haben und es gibt auch leider keine sozialen Aktivitäten von Hostel aus. Die Einrichtung und der Außenbereich war aber sehr schön und auch sauber; es gibt aber keine Vorhänge. Nach Santa Theresa läuft man leider 20-30 min, aber der Strand direkt vor dem Hostel ist sehr viel leerer als der in Santa Theresa. Hier kommt es darauf an, was man will…
When we were here, unfortunately the hostel was rather empty, so we perceived it as not so social and unfortunately there are also no social activities from hostel. the furnishings and the outdoor area was very nice and clean, but there are no curtains. to Santa Theresa you can walk 20-30 minutes, but the beach directly in front of the hostel is much more empty than in Santa Theresa. it depends on what you want...
A very nice hostel if you are after a mix of relaxation and socialising, the staff were amazing and very friendly offering good recommendations. We ain’t have AC in our room but that was our decision, if we went back would defo get air conditioning. We stayed at 4 hostels in Santa teresa and the staff at Pura Vida were in’s league of their own. It’s up a slight hill but nothing too steep and a very close walk to the beach and a big supermarket.
