Mallki Hostel

This hostel is the worst we visited. The pictures promised a nice, cosy and clean place. Instead, our private room was moisty, without any window and very noisy. Also the bed was not good. The best thing was leaving after one rough night. We booked for three nights and they agreed that we paid for one night. That was the best about this place.

Het positieve is dat het hostel op een goede lokatie heeft. Verder zijn de bedden verschrikkelijk en douche is koud kunt er nergens fatsoenlijk zitten. Het is onduidelijk wie er bij het hostel werk en wie niet daardoor is het een zooitje ongeregeld. Het is bij ons de vraag hoe dit hostel zo'n goede reviews kan hebben.

I wouldn't recommend this hostel. Almost impossible to take a shower cause there is no water pressure, only boiling hot water, freezing cold water or no water at all.. Also you have to ask for anything - towels, toilet paper, breakfast, the wifi password. And the volunteers who run the place are still noisy after 11pm quiet time. Also the provisional private rooms do not reflect the price you pay.

Koud, waren katten en een hond die ook ‘s nachts de kamer in kwamen. Het was ijskoud, alles ramen en deuren stonden open en er was geen verwarming. Douches waren heel koud. Keuken was minimaal. Bij slecht weer eigenlijk maar 1 ruimte waar je kon zitten, daar waren de schuifdeuren open, want die konden niet sluiten. De katten sliepen in de wasdroger, de bedden hebben een kuil in het matras. Locatie was wel oké qua afstand van de stad en ook veilig ‘s avonds laat. Personeel was wel aardig.

Do not stay here! When we arrived there was no electricity. Our room was not ready even though it was 2.5 hours after check in. Staff did not show us around or help with anything, just handed us the key and pointed toward our room. No running water in the morning! Not secure as a restaurant next door that has seating out the front of the hostel and anyone can walk in. Never anyone at the front desk. Room had no window and was really damp. Room not as pictured at all! We left after one night!

Not friendly to a vegan or lactose intolerant diet. We were disappointed that the description for this hostel was inaccurate - they do not offer vegan breakfasts, as stated twice in the bio, without prior notification of dietary needs. The breakfast feature was the only draw for us as the location and facilities are sub par. Despite the false advertising, the manager still kept our deposit on top of the full charge for the room. Overall, pretty disorganised and unnecessarily stressful. 👎🏼

We stayed for 1 night in a private room and did not have a good experience. The private room was the most basic room we have ever had. Literally just the beds and a small wooden piece of furniture with open shelves. No hoops, nowhere to hang towels and a sheer curtain that let all the street lights into the room. Shower water pressure was terrible, the upstairs bathroom also didn't even have a hook for the towel. Kitchen was tiny. Breakfast is NOT vegan as it says in the description.

nice staff and good location but not really clean and showers didn't work properly.

Underwhelming given previous reviews. No information about the area/ services etc available. Unsafe bunk bed on cardboard base and falling down on the side. Had to come back before 11pm as we were told no one would be at reception to let us back in.

Rudest host I've had in my years of traveling. Decent, cheap, barebones hostel. Wouldn't stay due to the host alone.

La struttura poteva essere più pulita.

Un capo Juan y los y las voluntarias, me encantó hospedarme acá y la onda en general, me hicieron sentir como en casa

Me sentí súper cómodo todo el tiempo, como en casa. Nos atendieron siempre súper bien tanto quienes trabajan como los dueños. Y el desayuno va excelente.

My stay with Mallki hostel was amazing The staff fantastic a beautiful woman from Columbia and his son treated me my friend like family. After I checked in, she invited us for lunch with a home cook meal from her country. We felt very safe for hospitality was fantastic but animals were so friendly. Definitely would stay again. Gloria was like a second mum for us on our stay The staff are so helpful with tourism in the city ect

It wasn’t a very clean place. I got bit by ticks that have now made its way into my. Clothes and the walk is 10 minutes every time you want to go into the centre city. If you know Spanish the atmosphere is alright but if you don’t I wouldn’t try. The staff were non existent and I could barely find them most of the time

Found a bedbug in my bed in the morning. At least the staff helped by washing all my clothing for free. They did seem attentive to the issue and moved quickly to deal with it.

Honestly pretty decent hostel ! The staff is amazing and they are all super super helpful. The only reason why there are not 5 stars (because honestly everything else is amazing ) is because I am full of dog fleas bites that I guess where in the bed 😅

Great views from upper level. Staff went out of their way to accommodate me and one other person when the dormitory was full when I had arrived, even after I had prebooked.

Todo muy bien y el personal muy amable todo el tiempo. Incluso el encargado de whatsapp me ayudo a horas de la madrugada muy diligentemente.

Petit hostal avec une super ambiance. Très proche du centre !

Lugar tranquilo para relajar y disfrutar unos días de Cuenca. Atendido por gente muy piola

Queria ter ficado muito mais tempo nesse hostel, foi um dos melhores que já fui até agora. Todos foram super acolhedores comigo, tanto os hóspedes quanto os voluntários. Literalmente todos do hostel estavam viajando sozinhos e os espaços comuns eram pequenos então isso facilitou para fazer novos amigos. Adorei Cuenca e adorei o hostel. Recomendo demais :)

Juan David is a fantastic host, super nice guy and very quick to help with anything you need. The hostal is 10min walk from the market, and about the same to the town centre. The showers are very hot, and the kitchen is well equipped. He can help with organising hikes in the national parque. He also hosts a byomeat bbq on Weds & Sunday. This place is great, met some lovely people. 10/10 I would recommend

Relaxed hostel with a great owner. There is room for improvement but overall, I enjoyed my stay

I really recommend Mallki! The owner was veeery friendly, welcoming and I felt free to be myself! The beds had courtins, there was hot water on the shower and a very nice, quite space with books where I could relax. Also amazing location, very close to the Calle Larga and the historic center which such a beautiful area. Not too crowded a d the people who were there were very friendly! :)

L’hostel est super, très bonne ambiance on s’y sent comme à la maison. Le staff est d’une gentillesse incroyable, arrangeant et de très bon conseil! Soirée barbecue très conviviale! Nous y avons vraiment passé de bons moments. Je recommande
