Jungle Host Hostel

Staying in a treehouse was a cool & unique experience, but it has its downsides. It gets very cold at night with only a thin sheet provided, and the rooms are very dark. Half the treehouse is open, so monkeys and other creatures can come in. Cold showers & small lockers too. One staff member was friendly at first but unclear about costs and unreliable. Horrible in all parts. We had an 13 Hours travel, booked a private room and ended up in 4-bed-dorm. The matrace was thin and you could feel the wood of the bed. The locker could just be locked by being violent and harsh. As an excuse for not getting the private i got a dinner. This was charged when I wanted to pay the bill. Been around a lot of places already and would really not recommend that place. And as a sprinkle the guy was rude to my Pick me Tuktuk, that I ended up paying mo...

Die Matratzen im 4 Bett Zimmer waren sehr hart und das Mosquitonetz zu klein für das Bett. Die Leute im Hostel waren nicht organisiert und wenn man Fragen hatte antworteten sie immer nur sehr schwammig. Das Essen ist nicht den Preis wert. Der Private room war sehr schön und man ist umgeben von der Natur.

Cool experience to sleep in a treehouse. We even saw some elefants and something like a buffalow which was nice. The food was good and there were a lot of backpackers. However the tours that were organized by the hostel (sunrise hike and safari) were not well organized. We missed out on the expected experiences because the hostelguys oversleept or gave us fals informations. They are also always high. If you expect a organized experience don‘t go there.

really fun place, the huts in the tree were quite cosy but the rooms were not fully isolated from the outside which could allow animals to enter

Absolutely loved my time at Jungle Host Hostel! It is a really social hostel (not necessarily a party hostel though) with an awesome common area, pool and family dinners every night! The only thing is the location can be a bit isolating however all of the staff are so kind and willing to help you book tours/any activities you might want to do! Rooms were all clean and the treehouse rooms are super fun! Overall I would highly recommend this hostel and will definitely be back!

Such a lovely stay here. The hosts were super friendly! Having the pool was so ideal! The beds comfy and the bathrooms clean. Would definitely go back again.

Great hostel - definitely one of the most social ones I’ve ever been to and the staff were the ultimate highlight - every day they are offering tours, cook family dinner… it’s fantastic! Just watch out for elephants in the area 👀

Great experience in the middle of the jungle. You have monkeys running around and apparently there is sometimes elephants. They even habe the cutest puppy The vibes were really cool when I was there, pretty social and great to meet people. Breakfast is good, optional dinner ad well. Just hard to access or leave when its dark as it is far from the road and there are plenty of aggressive stray dogs outside the hostel at nighttime.

Best hostel in sigiriya!! Tharanga was an amazing host, he cooked the most delicious dinner and it felt like all of us travellers were family. Highly recommend if you want a chill experience in sigiriya! He also took us to some beautiful sunset and sunrise locations, and there were many more activities to choose from! Overall, I can't wait to return another time

If you are planning to stay in Sigiriya, this is the best place to go! The host is truly amazing and they offer breakfast, dinner and tours. totally local experience

super nice hostel in the jungle with super friendly staff. things move a bit slow but everything works perfectly and they can arrange trips, safaris and tuktuk for you. location is a bit isolated but very social with family dinners every night so do not really matter.

Jungle Host Sigiriya is an amazing spot in the middle of the jungle with super chill an amazing social vibe. Dinner is delicious and everyone eats together making it easy to meet people. They do free sunset tour to secret spots with no more people and amazing views. It’s perfect for nature, relaxation, and great company. Big thanks to Chooty and the rest of the staff for making my stay even more fun and welcoming since the beginning!

Very nice hostel & you get to sleep in a treehouse:) the owners are very nice & the dogs there are so cute. The water wasn’t always working but otherwise I liked the place. The pool is good to chill at & you are in good distance to all the activities

Absolutely fantastic place! You stay in a jungle cabin and can watch birds from the terrace. Comfy beds and very clean and we'll maintained. Very lovely staff working there which takes you to different places for sunset every day. A bit disorganized at times, so come with the right mindset and you will have a great time there. I stayed five days, longer than at any other place in Sri Lanka.
