The only downside is the restaurant being a little overpriced for the quality of the food. Everything else is perfect.

Eins mit Abstand der besten Hostels in denen ich je war. Dieser Vibe, die Unterkünfte- einfach alles. Zuerst war ich im normalen Dorm und hab verlängert und bin in ein Comfort Dorm umgezogen. Beide waren sehr nett eingerichtet und haben bequeme Betten. Am besten gefällt mir die komplette Anlage, gemütliche Schaukeln, viel Natur und Lichterketten am Abend. Das dazugehörige Restaurant ist Mega lecker. Auch das Frühstück hab ich sehr genossen. Will garnicht mehr weg.

This hostel was wonderful. Super social, the highlight of my time in Zanzibar. The food was great, the staff accommodating. WiFi was also strong/consistent versus other spots I stayed.

Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt. Das ganze Team ist sehr herzlich. Der Barkeeper Anselios ist mir sehr ans Herz gewachsen.

Such a cute rustic hostel. The property is gated and feels safe. The staff is very nice. Breakfast and the pizza was amazing!! Highly recommend.

poor treatment and staff were rude. Lost my things and put me in the wrong bed (someone else was sleeping in my assigned bed) and then blamed me for being in the wrong bed and my things were then taken by staff. Vibe was awful.

Incredible hostel, super clean, spacious, walking distance to the beach, great toilets and showers, extreme friendly staff!

Très belle auberge, parfaite si vous souhaitez vous reposer. Le revers étant qu'il n'y a pas beaucoup d'activité le soir. Mais cela ne devrait pas vous empêcher de rencontrer du monde.

Everything was amazing about this place. Nice rooms and always good vibes and good music. The staff was so nice and friendly and helped with everything we asked for. Really enjoyed staying here!

Nothing to Complain

The rooms are nice, and it’s easy to meet people. The food is veeery expensive. They are very strict about the quiet hours, and will knock on the door even if you’re speaking very quietly in your room. The staff were playing loud music and dancing until the very last minute, but you can’t even speak after 10:30. There are signs everywhere telling you what to do (and especially what not to do!). Also the staff is sometimes rude, you feel like you’re annoying them when asking a simple ques...

Great hostel. 2 dorms and communal showers are good. Good atmosphere and lovely chill spaces and lovely staff, very helpful. Good breakfast, they have unlimited drinking water for $1 a day.

Nice atmosphere and facilities. There were only 2 dorm rooms i think (of 4 beds each) so there werent many solo travellers there.

I loved my stay at Makofi. The location was great, just 5 mins walking from the beach and the breakfast was great as well. You can choose which eggs you would like and get a pancake plus coffee and juice. Moreover, the staff is incredibly welcoming. Would definitely stay here again :)
