YYZ Riverdale

Location is far from downtown. Hostel is DISGUSTING AND CREEPY!!! Creepy people (who can’t tell if they’re homeless) and creepy house. Not clean, floors dirty, no trash bin in your room, sheets dirty, musty smell. I’d hate to shine a blue light in the hostel… it would light up like a Christmas tree. Would never stay here or recommend it. Theres a reason there’s no photos posted for the listing!!! I was with my boyfriend staying here and even then didn’t feel safe.

As a solo female traveler, I did not feel safe here. When you enter the building, it broadcasts your name and exactly what room you are in to everyone and shows a woman is staying alone in this specific room. Additionally, the code to the main door was the same code to my room specifically (no other rooms) and another guest came into my room using that code after thinking it was theirs. When we called the host to figure it out, he said that was impossible and offered no apologies or remorse for ...

Middle of the road hostel-- cute neighborhood, lots to do and center-city was really accessible. No front desk, didn't meet the hostel owner or many other guests, not a very communal or social space, which can either be a pro or a con. Owner wasn't super responsive in regards to issues, but the place was somewhat maintained and cleanly. Our door key was missing upon arrival which was a bit concerning, but the neighborhood felt safe and I chose to trust the room/building was secure.

Great location, in a calm residential area close to downtown, stores, restaurants, etc. Bed was very comfortable and there is a mini fridge and tv in the room. However the kitchen and shared bathrooms were not cleaned daily and some people were gross (e.g. leaving dirty dishes in the kitchen). Usually in hostels, shared areas are cleaned every day. Also I wish there was a small mirror in the room. Overall it is okay for the price.

Good location near streetcar line, Distillery District is also about a mile walk away. My room, shower, and toilets were all clean.

I really enjoyed my stay here! The bedroom had everything I needed, perfect for a slightly longer stay. The kitchen was well-equipped, bathrooms were great and on the whole it was the perfect mix between sociability and privacy. Met some very lovely people also staying here, and I liked being close to Riverdale Park.

Really great place if you’re just looking for a quiet room in a nice neighbourhood. Good bedroom and useful kitchen, only thing I would like to recommend is instructions for the kitchen tap! - as it was one of those fancy ones that can do boiling water and I had no idea how to make it do cold water 😭

This is a lovely place to stay in a quiet residential area of the city. The private room is cozy and comfortable and the shared facilities were spotless during my stay. It looks new/ freshly renovated.The rooms have tv, fridge, AC. I felt very safe here as a solo female. Public transport is frequent. Streetcar and subway stations are nearby. It really is value for money Don't come here if you are looking to socialize/party..

I had the pleasure of staying at YYZ Riverdale. I thought the location was just perfect, not far from everything, and I was satisfied with where I was. I felt like I blended in with the locals instead of staying downtown with tons of tourists. Please note that this place is ideal for someone who travels solo and wants to relax, as I took this as an extended getaway to explore the city while working remotely. Plus, you have to be OK with sharing a bathroom, too!

Everything was amazing the only thing I would say is that the third floor restroom is to small but beside that very solid place to stay.

真的很干净很整洁。虽然房间稍稍比较小，但是一个人住非常足够！楼下走几步就是sky lines，很方便！

Great location, busses and trams at 2 min walk. Clean place, quiet neighborhood. Lots of options close by. Will surely come back when visiting Toronto again in the future. 🥳

The greatest place in Toronto! I am sure that you couldn’t find a better price/quality balance in Toronto. Its located rather close from The city center.

Great little find. It was perfect for my needs. The room has all the amenities. The bathroom and shower were just a little small but not a deal breaker imo.

Very clean room. Bathrooms very close to rooms and clean. Full kitchen. The area is a quiet residential street only 2min walk to bus and main road. I slept like a baby

Fabulous, really enjoyed our stay. Nice and clean and comfy. They have everything you need, I’m surprised to find it with such good condition and at a cheap price!!!

El hostel está todo reciclado a nuevo. Las habitaciones son espaciosas con las camas muy cómodas. Incluso cada habitación tiene mini heladera, TV y A/C. Excelentemente conectado con varias líneas de buses y streetcars. Joseph siempre estuvo atento a mis consultas. Muy recomendable!
