Banana Leaf Eco Hostel

It was a fine hostel , they room was very hot and the bathrooms could use some more love. There was a kitchen but not available for guests and there are not many shops or places to eat in the city.

Die Anfahrt ist etwas schwierig, weil der letzte Teil der Straße etwas steil ist. Für die Aussicht lohnt es sich auf jeden Fall.

The hostel is very cosy and the staff is super nice. You’re located in a small village with a great view, so excellent for taking a pause of Rio, but I won’t recommend going there if you want to go to Rio every day. (One way with Uber around 2 hours). The toilets and the room itself aren’t in good conditions. The toiled-seats are kinda broken. And the matrazes are old. More over the room has no AC. But for the money it’s a good stay.

Beautiful location. Staff were really lovely. Most of the people staying there were volunteers which was “interesting” as a guest. Property could do with a good clean and the toilets didn’t flush. Some of the volunteers and the owner were really great and made my stay extra special though. Great property with lots of potential!!

Fiquei neste hostel e a experiência foi muito boa. O lugar é bem legal, com um ambiente agradável e acolhedor. A equipe é prestativa, deixando a gente bem à vontade. Recomendo para quem busca um lugar confortável e com um clima tranquilo para se hospedar.

Pros: Excellent hostel, very well organized, spacious, and with a beautiful view. To get there, I suggest taking an Uber if you have heavy luggage, as the uphill walk is a bit long, though doable. If you arrive at a dead-end street, keep walking and you’ll find a trail. Follow this trail until you reach the hostel. Cons: The music was very loud and bothered me a bit; I was expecting a quieter environment. Some bathrooms don’t have doors, which can be an issue during busy periods

Amei! I really enjoyed my stay at Banana Leaf hostel. The hostel has a nice Common area, clean rooms but the Highlight is the terrace and the pool with an amazing view. The other guests, the volunteers as well as the manager were super friendly and helpful, I felt really welcome. The hostel manager even speaks some German.

Super netter Hostelbetreiber, schön gelegen mit tollem Blick und Pool. Frühstück gibt’s auf Wunsch für 40 R$ dazu. Zimmer haben Ventilatoren und Vorhänge an den einzelnen Betten (Mehrbettzimmer).
