YHA Brisbane City

AC in room didn’t work, I went to the front desk to complain and they didn’t fix it and I woke up sweating in the middle of the night and had to pay more for a different room. I’ve been home for over a week now and see they JUST charged me over $200 after I emailed them with my complaints?!

They don’t accept cash - and you’re not allowed to close your eyes in the reception area when you’re waiting for onwards travel - avoid this place.

My stay was so expensive and the hostel was so bad! Even had to make my bed on my own! And this for so such an expensive stay!

Worst hostel I stayed in Australia. Fire alarm went off every night at 3:30am for 30 mins 4 nights in a row Some prisons are definitely better not sure if it's a hostel or a shelter.

The kitchen was dirty People stole our food The coffee shop person checked why I took my daughters bowl as or I was just checking her milk.

Very disappointed with the YHA. The pool was not open, the bar was never open! Even though they have advertising everywhere that the bars open?? No contact before arriving to warn the pools not open?? A lot of things broken- fridge etc The kitchen was inconvenient to get to- basically in another building(top floor) and got stuck in the lift and the light switched off! Absolute terrifying. Atmosphere was so dull. The hostel is on a hill- I would avoid this hostel - other ones nearby tbh.

Thats simple, the price is just Criminal. Bedroom for 6 People 560$ a week? Thats what Im supposed to paid next week. What a shame situation to do that for young People with a small budget to travel and Dont work. Im not even sure if this is Legal.

Overpriced for a hostel - especially if staying on the weekend. Nice kitchen and rooftop.

Hopeless failed to mention bout the separate dorm rooms and my partner tried to book me a room there and I was turned away and didn't get my refund because I made booking through another site but tried to explain that ,only was paid as deposit to THIS establishment and yet refused to refund the money its not the amount it's the principal I ended up having to sleep on the street until the next morning so would NOT recommend you to anyone I know

Great location and is very walkable to the central parts of the city (Southbank/Fortitude Valley) Only issues I encountered were low water pressure in the bathroom (may have been a one off as my travel companion had no complaints) and the A/C in my room didn’t work amazingly so was quite hot at night. Also the nearby trains may be bothersome if you are light sleeper. Overall great facilities, clean rooms and very friendly staff… would 100% stay again on my next trip to Brisbane!

We had a private room with private bathroom and it was very clean and calm. The staff at the front desk is lovely and very helpful. The gym, kitchen, rooftop and pool are very clean. They offer a wide variety of activity. Unfortunately, the lack of commitment from the traveler make it difficult for activities to happens, but the staff are trying their best to make it work, with a lot of new things on the bar menu upcoming.

Pros - Nice staff - Rooftop pool Cons - Kitchen is too small so complete chaos at peak times. A lot of the cooking equipment is old and needs replacement - Can’t take stairs between floors and only two lifts for entire building. Really slow getting around - Only two toilets and showers for entire floor - Hostel was full of teenage sports team which were loud and took over entire communal spaces - Top bunk is very awkward to get in and out of, and my bunk was directly beneath AC unit

Decent hostel. Rooftop bar/ eating area was very nice and had a good social atmosphere. Place was clean.

Good hostel, maybe the largest of the city.

I highly recommend this hostel. It was my first time traveling alone, and since my English isn’t very good, I was feeling a bit anxious. However, the staff made a real effort to understand me, and the other guests were kind and helpful. Security was also top-notch—you couldn’t get in without a key card. If I ever visit Brisbane again, I’d love to stay here. Thank you very much.

Spacious and tidy single with an en-suite bathroom. Recommend for sure!

Great facilities, rooftop pool and bar! Had an ensuite in the room which was clean and the room was clean. Good activities.

Has everything you need, was quite busy but less sociable than other hostels I’ve stayed in.

I had a great time here! Everything was super clean and organized and the atmosphere was very lovely and friendly. The rooftop bar and pool was a bonus! I would definitely stay here again!

Lovely staff, and great spaces to chill in various places in and around the hostel. Fab cafe near reception that also offer a gran n go 24hrs! Just a lovely place to stay, rooms are decent as have curtains and the shared bathrooms were clean. Found there to be a lot more middle age + people there than other hostels I’ve previously been in but it was a good stay overall and I extended my stay 3 times!

everything was clean except the ac- needs a deep clean as our whole room got ill from it. Staff friendly.

Really nice property. Very clean with excellent amenities and staff. Very well organized. I would 100% recommend this to anyone that wants/needs to stay in a hostel. It's great for first timers as it is in pristine condition.

I wouldn’t recommend this hostel to any young backpackers. It’s very difficult to meet people, there’s no vibe at all.There was a lot of older men staying at this hostel, im 20 and was in a bed next to a 60+ yo man. To me this feels inappropriate .The hostel itself is clean and the beds are comfortable. But that’s about it. I’d suggest an age limit or more consideration with who they are putting people in rooms with. Wouldn’t recommended especially to young female travellers.

Super auberge à Brisbane : propre, très bons équipements, dortoir féminin calme et avec des lits équipés de rideaux, possibilité d'emprunter des serviettes de bain gratuitement, piscine et rooftop... Je recommande !

The staff was so kind! I really liked them. The facilities were nice. The beds have a curtain, so that's good. The location was quite bad, but the view and pool and bar really made up for that
