The Studenthostel B&B Utrecht City Center

Overall not the cleanest place and the showers were really dirty. There were humidity bugs in the room (not close to washroom).The beds in the room are very close together, with no stairs to get to the top bunk. Not sure if the blankets are ever washed. ⭐ 1/5 – Sporco, pericoloso e ambiente degradante (zero sicurezza) Esperienza pessima. Ostello sporco, con camere vecchie e trascurate e un clima davvero degradante. Les seuls 2 points positifs : le monsieur a l’accueil était très gentil et l’emplacement était bien. Sinon, tout était sale et pas safe. La salle de bain n’en parlons pas, une salle de bain mixte sans cabine et sans verrou à la porte. Tout sentait mauvais et rien n’était propre. Pour 35€, j’aurais espérer un lit un peu plus grand, une salle de bain séparé femme/homme et un peu plus de calme dans l’établissement.

Juste une auberge de jeunesse insalubre, avec des couvertures sales sans draps dans une chambre avec aucun radiateur et donc un réveil par le froid. La salle de douche commune avec des douches en mode vestiaire de sport et une porte qui ne se verrouille pas. La technique du tabouret devant la porte pour signaler quelle est occupée ne fonctionne pas, un mec est entré alors que j'étais nu dans cette salle de douche, qui est mixte en passant. Pas d'endroit pour mettre en sécurité ses affaires...

The woman running this place was surprisingly rude and aggressive, which made the stay quite uncomfortable. The hostel was very dirty, and it honestly felt more like a shared apartment where some people had been living for months. It’s not the kind of place you’d expect for vacation at aaalll!!

we are grateful to the helpful staff member, but not happy that hostel does not provide bedsheets, there was no soap in the bathrooms, bathrooms were not clean, also since we arrived after 7pm it was tricky to get in. For nearly 40 euro a night it was definitely lacking for services.

This stay was pure horror for us and I don't recommend for anyone else. At first we were assigned a room with a thick layer of black mold, the beds were without linen and very dirty. It was also cold and smelly. We paid 36€ per person and night and were given the utmost worst experience of our vacation. One roommate even told us of worms and cockroaches he saw. The thought makes me shiver. We cancelled our stay and were told to get a refund if we write an email. Even now they have not responde...

De ligging is heel goed, het personeel is vriendelijk. Het gebouw staat op instorten en is een puinhoop. Het is er vuil, het ontbijt van de dag er voor bleef staan. Op het derde verdiep is een toilet buiten dienst en de badkamer ingestort. Er is schimmel en het stinkt er enorm. Er zijn geen aparte douches, boven is er een gedeelde douche met ruimte voor 3 personen. We kregen een kamer van 10 maar andere gasten moesten door onze kamer om in hun kamer te kunnen. Hele korte periode om in te checken

Terrible hostel, I cancelled after my first night to stay elsewhere. The whole place smelt so bad I felt sick. The toilet and shower situation was appalling. The shower was in a room with multiple shower heads and no screens or walls in between. It was also unisex.. to make it worse, the door into the room didn’t lock. Nor did the toilet door. The free food wasn’t worth it either. Don’t stay here!

Really social hostel with an amazing atmosphere. Also A LOT of free food during the whole day, that was a nice surprise :)

This place is all you are looking for if you want to spend some days in Utrecht or Amsterdam and want to save some money as well. Excellent staff, very welcoming, and the best part: you can take all the coffee and food they usually serve per day! Very happy with the experience :)

Het hostel is van oudsher een een samen komst van reizigers ,vacantiegangers en de aantrekelijkheid was dat je voor een aantrekkelijke prijs midden in een wereldstad of op een prachtige lokatie kunt verblijven . Not a super social hostel but everyone is so kind and always just around. Location is so perfect I’d go out and fall in love with Utrecht and then come home to this cozy place. Also fresh baked goods every morning for breakfast? Unlimited coffee/tea and food provided to cook yourself for dinner?? Great place. Will come again!

Short stay in this hostel was pleasant. A bit rough around the edges but absolutely perfect for value for money, staff was helpful, good atmosphere in social area and the free breakfast was an excellent addition. Would happily stay here again. 9/10.

The place is really nice. The staff are very sympathetic, the guests are good people. They constantly have food, the owner is so nice. I enjoyed the fact that the hostel is nearby good parks and the city center. Although, it’s cold in the lower rooms, and has no heater but they give you thick blankets at least. But in overall, I liked it. Free food guys

Very good hostel in the center Utrecht. Breakfast is amazing and the place just has an overall good, social atmosphere. Thanks a lot

If I could leave a review just for the staff I would because they were great and very nice, but unfortunately I’ll be honest with my stay. The Building is very run down, the bathrooms were atrocious and showers were even worse. The shower is non-divided shared shower between 2 floors and only 1/3 heads worked. The beds were very small and like another review said earlier they don’t clean the sheets unless necessary, I recommend bringing a sleeping bag and even a pillow case. Locations is nic...

Hostel is very dirty, they do not provide clean sheets unless you specifically ask and the pillows they give you look like they've just been taken from the sofa. Shower is more like a freezing, leaky tap, would recommend wearing shoes in the bathroom as it was quite dirty. Location is good, however. Very central.

Very hospitable and friendly host that gave useful tips regarding finding housing in Utrecht and starting a life in the Netherlands as an international student.

Super friendly staff, the hostel has a really nice atmosphere, lots of musical instruments open for anyone to play, card games, a tv with Netflix, lots and lots of chess boards (someone among the staff really likes it probably :) ). There's LOTS of free food, both ready to be eaten and ingredients for cooking in the common kitchen, also quite clean. Breakfast is also free and well furnished with all sorts of necessities. Bathroom was pretty clean and inside the bedroom. Very pleasant experience.

I was told if I wasn’t happy with my visit to this hostel, I would get my money back. Well I gave my review at the end of my stay and excuses were given for the other visitors making such noise at like 3 am. The mattress was also very uncomfortable. So I wasn’t very happy with my stay. Sorry.
