Blasted music with full speaker until 5 am outside of the female dorm. Vibe was very off… changed accomodation the next day.
Nice place good location. Bit weird vibes…felt not very safe at night because of the lots of men making noice…But the rest was okay 👍
Leider war meine Erfahrung hier sehr schlecht, vor allem wegen des Hosts. An einem Tag schrieb er mir plötzlich privat auf WhatsApp und lud mich zu einer Karaoke-Party ein, obwohl ich gar nicht in der Hostel-Gruppe war. Auf Nachfrage gab er zu, meine Nummer aus den Buchungsdaten genommen zu haben – höchst unprofessionell. Zuvor hatte er schon einer Freundin von mir privat geschrieben und nach „the German girl“ gefragt. Außerdem Bad: ständig dreckig, Personal: saß meist vor Fernseher, ...
Unfortunately my experience here was very bad, mostly because of the hosts. one day he suddenly wrote me privately on whatsapp and invited me to a karaoke party, even though i was not even in the hostel group. on request he agreed to have taken my number from the booking data highly unprofessional. previously he had already written a friend of mine privately and asked about the bad german girl. also: constantly dirty, personal: mostly sitting in front of the tv, location: abgel
it was okay, when we arrived it seemed a bit chaotic. Also the bathroom was rather dirty with dead flies and a lot of beard hair in the sink even though everyone checked out before and we had the room to ourselves in the beginning. Almost every night there was a party happening at in the living room till 3/4am without communicating that before, so our sleep wasn’t the best but all in all it was still okay and we felt more or less comfortable! :)
Unfortunately my stay at CocoDrift was not a positive experience. The host allowed his friends to come over, party and blare music until 5am even after multiple PAYING guests asked him to turn it down. His friends were banging and peering through the window of our female dorm. This happened not once but twice. Being a solo female backpacker this made me feel uncomfortable, also there are no keys provided for the rooms so you’re attempting to sleep without feeling secure. To note the female dor...
The property is nice and spacious with a lot of potential. It is also newly opened about 3-4 weeks and this was very evident. The focus is obviously on partying and a good time but at the expense of the people staying there. We met lovely people who we bonded with over our frustration of hearing blaring music until 2am which ruined many people’s plans to surf. The aircon works well when u have the remote but it is shared between all the rooms! Not very clean at all! Shower exploded as well!
The Hostel is Quote New. You could see that. The beds were super comfy eventhough the room was quite full with 4 bunk beds. When we arrived there were no bedsheets which we got after asking more the once:) The bathroom was quite dirty and unfortunately not really cleaned and there was water coming out of the wall and the toilet flush was nit working. Which was fixes after letting them now. In total it was fine and I think after some time it will get better!:)
Das Hostel hatte erst kürzlich geöffnet daher waren manche Orga-Sachen nicht ganz reibungslos. Mein Dorm war direkt neben dem Aufenthaltsraum, weshalb es nachts recht laut war aufgrund von Playstation und Musik. Die Tür war leider kaputt und wir konnten diese nicht schließen. Darum wurde sich in den 3 Tagen leider auch nicht gekümmert. Sauberkeit insgesamt naja. Es gibt eine whatsapp Gruppe in der der Betreiber über social events informiert:)Das Hostel hat Potential, hier und da fehlt noch...
The hostel had only recently opened so some Orga-Sachen were not quite smooth. Mein Dorm was right next to the living room, so it was quite loud at night due to Playstation and Music. The Door was broken and we couldn't close it. So the 3 days the Door was not taken care of either. Cleanliness overall naja. There is a whatsapp Group in the Operator where the Operator is informed about social events:) The Hostel has Potential, here and there is still missing something.
Coco Drift Hostel is a Great Place to stay. The owner is very kind and willing to help.
Had the best time. Can’t wait to come back x

I had such a good time staying at Coco Drift Surf Hostel. From the moment I arrived, the vibe was super welcoming and friendly. I recently stayed at Coco Drift, and it was such an amazing experience from start to finish!The garden rooms were beautiful, peaceful, and very clean. Waking up surrounded by greenery made the whole stay feel relaxing and refreshing. The beds were super comfortable, and I had some of the best sleep there.They also offer bike rentals, which made it so easy and fun to explore the area at our own pace. Fantastic experience! TJ is a fantastic host. So much fun, and has the right contacts 🤘🏽 Hostel was clean, new, and located conveniently close to Dikwella beach. The PlayStation in the common room is available for use, and the evenings are very social. We also got to do a bonfire at the beach. Highly recommended 👍🏽
Absolutely great hostel! Could not recommend enough if you want to have a fun experience. The owner Tj was lovely and an absolute top bloke. 10/10

Coco Drift Hostel is honestly one of the best vibes in Hiriketiya! 🌴✨ If you’re into surfing, this is the perfect base — boards, lessons, and even easy bike rentals to explore the whole area. The garden view is super peaceful with real nature energy all around, perfect for chilling after a surf session. Coco Drift Hostel in Hiriketiya is a great place to stay! The single beds are really more like a doubles, so really roomy.. the hostel is in a beautiful beach house literally a 5 min walk to the nearest breaks. The vibe here is spot on relaxed yet fun. The staff here really knows what's up in yhe area and can always point you to the action and parties. Also they have a playstation for when you just need to veg out. Excellent value for money! Staying here made my trip 🤙
