Anchor Point Hostel & Cafe

I really didn't like this hostel. It's very small (the one female dorm and the one mixed dorm), and there is no social area (apart from a very small reception with a couple chairs). So, as a solo traveller it's very hard to meet people. The space doesn't function amazingly, the sink didn't drain, hot was didnt really work. Also no soundproof, you can hear anyone talking or walking outside. The area is okay, a couple places to eat nearby, but I would recommend staying closer to town.

This hostel is anything but new, as it may appear from the new listing. I stayed for 1 night, as the Hostel I wanted to book was fully booked. When I checked in it was like they’d never had a guest before, don’t even show where the toilets are or what the wifi password is. Atmosphere is dead, it’s not a social hostel, and the toilets lack basics like toilet paper and soap, if you want to wash your hands you also need to go to the shower. Honestly just spend the £3 on something better than...

Good location, quiet , near a great cafe just across the bridge. cafe also just down stairs behind the hostel , shop across the road but walking 20 minutes to the town where most things are . 12 bed dorm looked lovely and was bigger more room . Friendly place lovely outside place to sit with trees and natural beauty around . Only down full was not enough toilets and one wash room But was not a problem every time I used it worked out fine . Would recommend staying here it’s a good place

Nur ein einziger Mülleimer, überall Spinnen, Geckos und Insekten, keine Seife. Sehr nahe zum Strand

Nice and simple place to stay, has everything you need. Was nice to stay in a female only dorm, the beds were comfy and the rooms were well air-conditioned. The social area is quite small and the kitchen quite basic, the volunteers working there were nice. All very close to Cenang and the beach, so restaurants and shops aren’t too far away.

Die Unterkunft ist gerade vor einem Monat neu eröffnet worden. Es gibt ein Frauendorm und ein gemixten. Der Mitarbeiter war sehr sehr nett und hat viele Empfehlungen gegeben, was man unbedingt auf Langkawi machen sollte. Die Lage ist ein bisschen weiter entfernt, aber noch machbar. Die duschen hatten warmes Wasser und es gibt ein Frühstückscafe direkt unter dem Hostel

Overall the dorm was quite good. The bed was comfortable and the air con was strong and quiet. Also, I really enjoyed the nice clean carpet in the dorm. The biggest drawback was the location away from restaurants. Although, I didn't mind walking to town, there was not a nearby place to eat.

Wonderfull little Hostel where I stayed couple of days. Air con in dorms, fridge, hot and cold filtered water. A really nice and chill social area. Staff is very friendly and helpfull.

Decent hostel and the guy running it was helpful. It is small with only two dorms so social aspects all depends on who’s there at the time.

Excellente auberge avec de bons équipements et un emplacement très bon. Lit très confortable et personnel au top je recommande

Really lovely place! Stayed for about 6 days! The volunteers are so awesome ! Cozy rooms and a nice kitchen! Would come back 100%

This is a small hostel with a very social atmosphere, while still being relatively calm and relaxed. The location is ideal – close enough to the promenade to easily walk there for food and explore, but far enough away that you don’t hear much of the noise or crowds.Steven and the volunteers Dani and Berry were amazing and incredibly helpful. They made everyone feel welcome and were always happy to give recommendations or help with anything.I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice hostel, everything is clean and the beds are comfortable. Steve, a really sweet receptionist, is always available to help you. Perfect for solo, only keep in mind that it's 5-10min walk from the town.

I had a really great time and the hostel was really close to a small not so crowded beach!

I really enjoyed this hostel, and Steve was a fantastic host. Anchor Point has a social and welcoming atmosphere in spite of its small size, a powerful air conditioner in the dorm, and is close enough to the main tourist strip and beach without hearing the loud cars and shouting all night. Really a special place, and a great value as well

Good bed and clean facilities. Steven was very wecoming and friendly he ensured we were having a pleasant stay!

Amazing hostel, Steve was an amazing host and gave great recommendations on what to do in Langkawi, even showing us some of his favourite places on the island! Rooms were super clean, and cleaned daily, common area always well maintained, air conditioning working throughout so you can sleep in without sweating, great value! 10/10 for the hostel, 10/10 for Steve - can only recommend you stay here!
