Tranquilo Hostel

The most average hostel experience you can have. Nothing terrible but nothing great about the stay either. The rating is a bit inflated on Hostelworld because it's got it's flaws, the location has a lot of traffic noise through the night and no noise isolation. The top floor has 18 people sharing one toilet/shower. The staff is aite, but can seem a bit disorganized or uncaring to what you want. Pretty average price for what it is.

The staff and the owner is very friendly and accommodating. The check-in process is very smooth. They provided all my needs during my stay. I really enjoyed the ambience and the vibe of the hostel. Ive met new friends that are also travellers like me.

Tranquilo Hostel is excellent! The manager Charles is very friendly, and also are the staffs. The location is so good......you can watch Pacific Ocean at the third floor's belcony, and it's very chill. There are so many delicious food around Tranquilo, you don't need to worry about starving. Overall, I strongly recommend Tranquilo Hostel.

This backpacker hostel in Taitung was a great place to stay, with a relaxed vibe that makes you feel at home right away. Great location and very relaxing vibe. There’s a convenience store right across the street, which is super handy. In the evening, sitting outside with a cold beer was incredibly comfortable and chill. The place is close to an old sugar factory, and the beach is just a short walk away. I spent the afternoon alone at the beach, soaking up the sun — it was absolutely perfect.

The hostel is tremendous! I love the people there , because they are so nice and really caring about your feeling. And the decorations of the building look so great, the owner has good taste! Anyway the weather and vibe are amazing, will definitely be there with friends again! Thank you for hospitality.

My experience at this youth hostel was fantastic. The owner was very warm and welcoming, and explained the local customs and culture. The next day, during some free time, they even took me around Dulan. Although it was just one stop on my trip to the east, I felt really touched by the warmth.

In Taitung, time seems to slow down. It starts with a warm cup of coffee made by the host. The place feels like returning to a grandmother’s countryside home — cozy, simple, and comforting. In the evening, we gathered together, drawing and chatting, sharing quiet moments. It felt like going back to childhood. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a warm, relaxed, and heartfelt stay in Taitung.

The six-bed sea-view room at Tranquilo Hostel is amazing. Waking up to the ocean and sea breeze every morning was unforgettable. Clean, comfortable, and relaxed. It absolutely is a perfect place to slow down and enjoy Dulan. Highly recommended.

I stayed at Tranquilo Hostel for a short night, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they are already listed on several booking platforms with very high ratings. By coincidence, I became the first guest to leave a review on this newly launched platform. From my experience, I truly loved the atmosphere here. The place is filled with art, surf culture, and the charm of an old house—it honestly felt like coming home. The hostel manager, Dong-Han, was incredibly warm and welcoming.
