Great social hostel in the middle of Hopkins. You can reach either end of town in about a 20 minute walk (or hitchhike, it's very easy around here). However, most restaurants and places are very close by. The people at reception will help you out with anything and even offered us to try some exotic fruits he was eating (I believe his name was Clifton). I didn't have a lot to do in Hopkins due to the Sargassum, but still managed to fill my days with activies due to the social nature of the hostel

I had a great stay at this hostel. It’s a little old fashioned but in a nice way. I would highly recommend this hostel.

mon coup de coeur des 3 hôtels que j'ai faits à belize. Chambre privée certes mais douche sanitaires communs entretenus. Y'a même de l'eau chaude! Café à volonté le matin tant qu'il y en a. Et je vous souhaite d'y rencontrer Cleavon toujours souriant, disponible et de très bon conseil. Encore merci mon ami

Le patron n'aime ni les clients ni son établissement, qui tombe en ruines. Remplissage à fond et promiscuité par ailleurs mais aucun investissement en retour. Pas eu d'eau chaude en 4 jours, avec un chauffe-eau solaire de 50L pour 12 à 25 personnes, c'etait prévisible. Les chasses d'eau sont cassées pour la plupart, les sièges de jardin sont vieillots, les ustensiles de cuisine, telle la passoire, trouée, les peintures écaillées.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Funky Dodo. It’s definitely more of an older crowd that stays there (or it was during my stay) which made for a chill relaxing vibe. But definitely not a party spot if that’s what you’re looking for. Clevon at the front desk was the most polite and helpful person I’ve interacted with in a long time! He went well above and beyond with help booking tours and recommending activities and transportation around Hopkins. Highly recommended.

Las habitaciones compartidas son muy pequeñas, entre mochilas y carry on, no queda espacio. El personal es atento y correcto. Tienen agua caliente. Hopkins en gral está sobre valuados en relación calidad-precio, comparado con los otros alojamientos el precio es razonable. La playa está llena de sargazos, y el olor se hace difícil de soportar.

Belle ambiance. Gens sympathiques. Lits confortables.

Prima hostel, hele fijne bedden en oké locatie. De eigenaar is echter niet mega behulpzaam helaas.

Anna & Roy war super nett und extrem hilfsbereit. Die Lage ist super, man ist sehr zentral und sehr nah am Strand. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber. Allerdings lassen die Sanitäranlagen und die Küche sehr zu wünschen übrig.

Funky Dodo is fantastic! As someone who has stayed in a lot of hostel dorms (and who is getting too old for top bunks), I really appreciated how intentionally designed the dorm beds were. I was on top but it's a real staircase with a sturdy railing with curtain, and a very comfy mattress. The shelf and outlets were super useful, and I loved having my own reading light and fan. The fan meant I could take a break from earplugs. I loved the giant locker drawers to keep stuff in, it made it easy to ...

We enjoyed our stay. The atmosphere was excellent, wonderful proximity to the beach. The WiFi could be improved.

hostel was good for a couple night's stay! staff were helpful with booking us a taxi. decent kitchen, showers and toilets are also decent but a bit cold as they use solar panels for heat. location was okay! there's an older man that was there during our stay that seemed to be a semi permanent resident which was quite off putting tbh- he sat in the same spot in front of the dorm we were in watching trump youtube videos and smoking his pipe which smelled quite bad

I liked this hostel but I didn’t like the older American guy who’s been staying there for the last three winters walking and talking like he owns the place. Other than that, great place, thanks for a nice stay

Loved this place. Atmosphere is what you make of it - plenty of opportunities to chat with guests. The property grounds are well landscaped. Legit 50 ft from the beach and at the center of the village. It’s also quite eco friendly and uses solar power and collects rain water if you are into that.

Very good hostel. Sustainable facilities and nicely decorated. It looked way better than on the pictures.

A lovely hostel in a quiet beach paradise. Definitely stay here if you visit Hopkins Pros: - comfy, clean rooms and beds - friendly helpful owners and staff. We asked about the bioluminescence tour and received expert advice from the owner - convenient Central location in Hopkins Wishes: - it would be ideal if the WiFi reached the rooms - during our stay there seemed to be an abundance of ever-present middle aged Omni-shirtless men, but fair enough I suppose we are in the carribean.

The Funky Dodo is a classic hostel that gets a lot right. It has a very social hangout space with the kitchen/lounge area, so it was easy to meet new people (partly because the wifi is NOT good in the rooms...it forces people out into the common areas). The kitchen was well-equipped and the staff kept it neat and organized (because guests can always do better). The communal bathrooms were also well arranged and clean. It is rustic with solar hot water (so showers are not always hot).
