Salem House Hostel, Nizwa

Great location, spacious rooms and a super friendly host. Can highly recommend staying here as it is very close to the old town. The bathroom could do with a glow up but everything is kept clean and tidy.

A great place on an amazing location! Possibly the only western-style hostel in Nizwa, the place was very clean and has literally everything you need as a traveler! The host is extremely nice and will do everything to help you. Met some very cool people and hopefully I'll be back!

Great hostel in an amazing location. You can reach the Souk and other main spots as well as restaurants and shops within just a few minutes walk. Everything was clean and well maintained. A special shoutout to Emjay, who brought so much warmth and friendliness to the whole hostel. He was always happy to help with anything and really made the stay feel welcoming. Highly recommended!

I definitely recommend if staying in Nizwa! The hostel is very basic and don’t expect much social atmosphere, but for me that was good enough! It’s clean and the dorm is comfortable

Lage und Küche sind sehr gut. Es sind ein paar Kleinigkeiten die zu einer besseren Bewertung fehlen. Die Badezimmer sind nicht einladend und die Spülung vom Stehklo war kaputt, so dass sich das Wasser im ganzen Badezimmer verteilte.

9 personen op de kamer ipv 6 wat we hadden geboekt. Ensuite badkamer was geen ensuite. Hele hostel moest gebruik maken van 2 badkamers met toilet. Geen aparte toiletten.

The receptionist made me feel very uncomfortable when he asked me for a hug. When I said no, he became cold and rude and suddenly demanded payment for the room - which was fine as I hadn’t paid the last night but others were allowed to pay at the end. I found the timing to be very petty. The receptionist was also bad at explaining things and would get annoyed when guests asked for clarification, “listen, I’m telling you for the last time.” I’d suggest travellers find info on blogs / a ...

very clean place and the managers are so open and welcoming! Was also very quiet so slept like a baby here.

A model hostel: Clean, well equipped( kitchen offers what you need, washing machine, drying room), drinking water, tea, coffee, dates, Omani sweet. Wifi. Very helpful, polite, manager who will assist with everything. Supermarket in the same building. The only drawback for me is the old bathroom. It is clean but needs renovation. Private rooms and dormitories are at a low price for the Oman.

Amazing hostel, the staff were super friendly and helpful. I stayed in Nizwa for one night during my stay and was able to leave my big bag as I was coming back. The hostel is super social and there were a lot of solo travellers from all over and a nice mix of ages. I definitely would recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Oman.

Such a warm welcome by the hostel manager! Overall felt very comfortable.

MJ was super friendly and helpful But finding the hostel was hard because there were no signs on the outside of the building and when we tried to enter the door was locked again with no sign of the hostel. We were the only guest there during our stay so everything felt empty. In our room for max 5 beds was only 1 socket wich hardly worked and the bath was generally clean but the bathtub looked dirty as hell…
