i have bites from bed bugs and there was cockroaches in my room. s*** hole

No cleaning during our stay

Primero que nada se encuentra ubicado en una zona muy mala, con gente drogándose en la calle y tirada en el suelo. En segundo lugar, el hotel no se preocupa por los servicios, incluso hay cuartos sin asientos para el WC. El personal amable,todos excepto el tipo del turno vespertino en la recepción. Viajé sola y no me sentí segura para llegar ningún día. No lo recomiendo para nada

Very nice hotel, perfect location! Just 5 minutes by foot to Metro 'Omonia', very close to city center. Lot's of small Groceries shops around. Nice and friendly staff. But:) the neighborhood is pretty scarry, people sitting right on the road and smoking crack or something. Actually I didn't have any problems with them, but if you don't want to see these things better to choose something else😊

I DO NOT RECCOMEND. Lady at desk is very rude and unhelpful. Located in a bad neighborhood, the whole place was sketchy. I booked on hostel world, showed up and they said they didn’t have my reservation. I had to book other accommodations.

About the neighborhood: I can only talk about my experience there, but absolutely nothing happened to me. I understand being scared and not feeling safe, but that doesn't give you the right to talk about other humans (who are clearly suffering) like if they were less than you. The hotel is super close to everything, I didn't need to take the bus/metro at all. Staff is very nice and they let me drop my bags before my check-in. Private room was very clean and comfy.

Change the lady who is in reception. At least wash the blankets. Clean the rooms properly.

La habitación tenía muchísimo olor a cigarrillo, era realmente descomponente. Estuvimos solo un día menos mal, pero no fue de nuestro agrado. La puerta del baño no cerraba, el aire acondicionado no andaba.

Street brawl outside front doors involving hammers thrown and bats at 10pm. Area is shady during the day, advisable not to go out at night. Rooms were generally ok but had strong “old” smell. Hotel was almost empty so no one around. I would stay away from this area unless you are in a pinch for money

The room is very basic and the bathroom was not well maintained. We didn't expect much more for the price that we paid, however the area that the hotel is in made us feel unsafe when we arrived. There were a lot of people out on the street, and it was at least a 10min walk into the main part of the city. We stayed in the heart of the city at the start of our trip and loved Athens. We ended our trip here at Hotel Lido and felt it tainted our experience a bit. Definitely book closer to the city.

The hotel was worth what you pay for it, rooms were good, air conditioned, mini fridge, bathroom was clean, towels provided. The hotel has a bar and elevators and the staff were very good and helpful. The location isn’t bad, only about a 15mins walk to Monastiraki square, however the area it is in doesn’t feel very safe, quite dirty, etc. as two young females we didn’t feel that safe going out at night or walking to and from the hotel, however once in the hotel we felt fine. It's located in a complicated neighbourhood with a lot of adicts and the area is full of constructions. The hotel is a very old one, the mattress was very unconfortable and the bathroom was very old and unkempt. The shower didn't have courtains, so everything got wet. The sheets had also a cigarette burn. It's located about 10 minutes by foot from the monastirakis square where you can find a lot of nightlife.

The building itself is very clean and the staff are very hospitable. This hotel is unbeatable when it comes to its central location and price. However, be aware the surrounding neighborhood is a bit dicey. The smell and dilapidated buildings made me feel like I was back in Bombay! If you want to experience the less touristy side of Athens, you will love it.
