Cloudcroft Hostel

I had such a lovely little stay at Cloudcraft, friendly staff, easy to find, and right near some beautiful sights!

Very charming and cozy hostel. Conveniently located between Cloudcroft and Alamogordo. Well organized kitchen and plenty of space in the refrigerator. Only regret was I couldn’t stay longer.

I had a wonderful stay at the Cloudcroft Hostel! The space was extremely welcoming and inviting from the moment I arrived. Stephanie was so communicative and kind. She showed me around upon arrival and immediately made me feel at home. The other guests were also friendly and added to the warm atmosphere. The hostel itself was clean, quiet, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The outdoor area was beautiful and peaceful, and the location is perfect.

Stephanie, the owner, has made something wonderful here! An old school hostel vibe in an incredible location. if your coming without a car there are buses and Ubers to Alamogordo. If you're coming to new mexico stay here! white sands np is pretty close too!

Beautiful, clean, and friendly. Loved the entire experience. Highly recommend. I loved the full kitchen, comfortable beds, and fun living room. Wifi was great for work and video calls. I hope to return.

What a wonderfully whimsical place to lay your head and meet interestingly cool people! Highly recommend it!

Very friendly and helpful staff interactions all the way through, even with my late-night last-minute arrival. I felt thoroughly welcomed. The signage about the use and rules for room check in/out, sheets, bathroom, etc. were all great. I hope to stay again! My one and only critique is how much the floors squeak. Especially when people likely are sleeping, I worry about waking anyone and even with my ninja footwork I couldn't avoid noise I could be woken by.

Fantastic stay! The view was gorgeous, with the hostel built right on an incline driveway from a mountain stretch of highway. My bunk was very comfortable. Stephanie was great and provided me with not one, not two, but three excellent recommendations that increased the value of my trip! I enjoyed my stay, and wish I had taken more time to enjoy the area with such a great base.

A great option if it fits your travel plans — my priority was a comfortable, reliable place to work that was in close proximity to White Sands National Monument, and Cloudcroft was perfect for that! Even though I was the only guest at the time, Stephanie made sure to welcome me and make sure I had everything I needed, and I could tell she tidied up each day, too.

We had a nice time at the Cloudcroft Hostel. It was a great experience, and we were so thankful that they allowed pets!

I had a great stay at Cloudcroft! The location was super close to great hiking trails, White Sands National Park, and a bustling downtown with a ton of things to do. It was perfect for a couple nights stay, and a cozy spot. Dogs are welcome, but they luckily weren't too noisy. There were kids staying there that were a bit loud early/late, but that didn't seem like a common occurrence. Watch out for deer, elk, and moose on your ride up and pack your breakfast.

This was a seriously great hostel! There were so many conveniences that really came in handy for cooking. Not to mention the really comfy bed, and bathroom that had extra soap/shampoo/conditioner/lotion etc AND hair dryer/curling iron/flat iron. The owner was also so sweet and helpful! I can’t say enough good stuff about Cloudcroft Hostel.

Awesome hostel!! They have clearly thought of everything you might need. Beautiful location. At night I sat on the porch and could hear elk calling. It’s a short drive down to town where you can get food/gas etc, so remote feeling without actually being super remote. 10/10 would recommend :)
