- Worst experience. I arrived early to drop my luggage and found the toilets dirty with tissues everywhere. The showers were unhygienic, with water leaking from the next stall. I paid $160 for two nights but didn’t check in due to the poor conditions. I requested a cancellation from 9 AM, but the staff were rude and only refunded $60. This ruined my trip.
- Da forma como fui recebida. Não quiseram fazer meu check in porque tenho 66 anos.
- below is the email I sent on Sep 17th but I havent received any email from the hostel and the bar owned by the same owner. it was very disappointing experience. I stayed Wake up Sydney during my trip and would like to ask some questions and really want to hear at least official opinion from this hostel and Side bar which run by the same owner. First of all, I will describe my experience in this hostel with details and let me know I deserved this. it was Friday night 12 September. I was waiting in line and gave my passport to the guard and the bar manager said that I am not allowed to get in because of my gym attire. it is uncomfortable experience but he said we are night club and I am not allowed to wear my outfit but when I went there last time I was wearing gym outfit but different outfit. it was my last night so my friends in the bar asked me to try again and I got in. but I was curious why he thought that my outfit is unproper for the bar because almost every guys at the bar are actually wearing gym outfit. so I asked about this and he answered: Find any women wearing like you. 1. here, I really don’t think this is proper response that I can get from the bar manager. So is it normal to talk like this at the bar? To me it feels like his response is quite aggressive and it is really uncomfortable. because I want proper explanation about his behavior, I stayed there for a while and he said enjoy the bar or leave. and he kept pretending I was not existing there even though I am staying there. I am not sure about this but I also heard that this kind of things could happen at the bar or small restaurant. and I experienced same thing at the hostel reception. The bar manager said if I kept arguing about it, he will kick me out from “the hostel” I have ears I can listen but the guy at the reception didn't listen to me. and he simply answered it is miscommunication.
+ Convenient
- The bed was dirty & stained had other peoples hair on it and a dead bug made me move into a new room with a bed that someone had been using as storage on the “clean” sheet
+ Refused further stay because of my age. 56
+ Location - very close to Central Rail Station
- Room was extremely small. Bed was double. Bed was uncomfortable with the only quilt or blanket was a thin quilt which barely covered the bed. There was not even a glass to have some water. There was no jug or tea/coffee making facilities. The bedside light did not work. I had to ask the staff to turn down the air conditioner which was for the entire floor and took an hour to change. Otherwise you froze and only had the thin quilt as a cover. I realise that this is predominantly a "backpacker's" hotel, but we still paid in excess of $300 for the room. I will never stay here again.
+ Location is great, a lot of things around as restaurants and public transport.
- For me was a very loud experience, after 10pm till 3am was very loud, a lot of door banging, music which sounded like a party. I couldn’t sleep .
- We got here and there were no rooms available!!!!!!!! We were put out in the street having to find more accommodation at midnight and treated like animals, they also called security when we asked for help! It was raining and cost us our clothes taxies and an extra $317 a night!!!!
+ Location was convenient
- During check-in the lobby was filled with drunk teenagers who were out of control. Security needed to put them in their place. The music from the nightclub below the hostel was super loud. You could hear the base even on the upper floors which was really annoying. Our room was freezing cold, the aircon blew directly in our face the whole time and there is no possibility to regulate the temperature or intensity. We got back down to the reception to complain and asked to increase the temperature and decrease intensity of the aircon which was confirmed but actually didn’t happen. The night was short and freezing as we slept in long trousers and a hoody. The next morning we complained again and spoke to the manager who was at least willing to help. After our daytrip we arrived late and found our room as cold as the night before. The aircon blew with the same power in our faces the whole night… these were our last days in Australia and we were send home with sore throats. Back home we were both sick! So unnecessary and annoying! During our 3 weeks stay in Australia we stayed in different hotels, hostels and resorts as we like to experience a good mix. This was definitely the worst experience price value! Staff didn’t take our complain very serious! We complained immediately after check-in and the next morning. The Problem was not solved. If you’re very young and want to party chose this hostel. If you’re looking for a basic, decent place to stay with less action don‘t chose this place! To me, a room in which you cannot open the windows and no temperature control is a no go!!! Would never book again.

+ The property is in the heart of CBD so everything is accessible.
- I like the reception staff, they are very accommodating from check in to check out. Whenever my room card key is not working they are fixing it right away. Very clean and organized.
The location at the train station is top. rather a very cosy Party Hostel - for active travelers, who prefer to rest in the evenings to start early in the morning for the next adventure, I would probably recommend another accommodation.

+ This is my second time staying at Wakeup! The room was fabulous! The staffs are friendly and helpful as well. The common kitchen area is clean! Highly recommend!
+ 地理位置不错,离central近。
- 带私人浴室的大床房非常差,窗户紧闭依然漏风,风声大,床垫塌陷不平整。窗帘是不能遮挡隐私的。整体非常差,800多的价格非常不值。

+ Convenient transportation and location, and friendly staff.
- I checked in on Friday and Saturday nights, and even though I was on a high floor and wore earplugs, I could still hear music from the bar downstairs, which greatly affected my sleep. In addition, there was no nightlight in the room, so there was no light after everyone else went to sleep and turned off the lights. Climbing the stairs to my upper bunk was also very difficult.
