Don Gato Hostal

DO NOT BOOK - hostel is closed for renovations - we only found out when we turned up and it was closed!!! We ended up going to De Boca en Boca - and it was great!

We stayed one night only in a private room with shared bathroom. The room had no windows and was very, very warm with torn and dirty sheets. Bathrooms were inqualificabile. Cherry on top, personnel tried to make us pay again the pre-paid amount. Horrible!

Private room is a brick room with no windows or any chance of air circulation, some of the worst sleeping conditions we’ve had. Limited amount of toilets and one is with an almost see through door situation pointing straight to the toilet and another one with a broken lock so the door just opens. Common area however is nice a chill and has a decent kitchen. Staff is helpful. Dorms looked okay, but not sure.

Booked the double room for 2 nights, air inside was unbearable as it had no windows and the room was tiny. Breakfast wasn't good either, staff was super nice though.

I have never in my life been so hot in a hostel. The owner would walk into our room, a few times when me and my friends were in towels fresh out of the shower to turn our fans n lights off… talk about no privacy. Really lovely lady who makes the breakfast but apart from her the staff were bizarre. Trying to have a hangover day after the treehouse is virtually impossible. Also did not appreciate being forced to take a picture as checking out either.

It’s ok, wasn’t really good vibe or social but would still recommend, nice staff!😎

Het hostel was erg rustig. De privé kamer was niet heel groot en niet goed schoongemaakt. Vliegen in de douche en het matje van de douche was niet schoongemaakt. Ook vonden we haren op onze kussens bij binnenkomst.

The location of the hostel is very good and the rooms are perfectly fine however the staff aren’t very helpful. We asked the receptionist for suggestions of things to do in Granada and they said ‘there’s nothing to do here, it’s boring’. Also had to ask them to buy hand soap and washing up liquid after having to go without it for a few days. Overall, not a bad hostel as the facilities and location are good but the staff could just be a bit more helpful.

I had a super nice stay here! Italo in the reception is the best, super sweet and helpful, does his best to help you with whatever you need. Nice kitchen and super nice with a little yard and hammocks

Lovely hostel, common space is very comfy and relaxing. Good WiFi. Italo looked after us very well during our stay. Nice breakfasts.

We had such a wonderful stay at Don Gato Hostel in Granada! Everything was clean and well taken care of, and there was a great kitchen available for guests to use. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. The atmosphere was relaxed, cozy, and super welcoming. There were lovely outdoor areas where we could sit and enjoy the delicious breakfast the hostel prepared for us every morning. Overall, it was just a beautiful, chilled-out place to stay

Perfect hostel, felt like home. Good showers, comfy beds, clean, just chill vibe. Kitchen is okay, could probably a few more items (like salt and oil) but it was still usable and clean. Don’t expect much from the free breakfast, some days it was excellent (crepe with banana), some days it was just beans with a weird cheese liquid.

this place felt like home! I looked forward to coming back and relaxing everyday :) every breakfast was simple but very tasty and the staff was so wonderful and kind.

Good free breakfast and strong coffee. Really lovely social areas and the staff were fantastic.

It was a very cool stay, the hostel was the best I have been to so far and would definitely recommend it.

laundry service is overdreven duur. Ontbijt was inbegrepen maar verwacht er niet te veel van. Heel de dag is er koffie en thee beschikbaar, wat heel fijn is. douches en toiletten waren enorm proper. Ze rekenden ons extra aan omdat we geen reservatie hadden en ter plaatsen om een kamer vroegen, dat is wel een beetje jammer.

We enjoyed a great time at the hostel. It was kinda empty when we were there, but the vibes were still always high because of Italo. He was always very helpful and kind! He helped us organize our stay in Granada and we had a great time enjoying his company at the hostel! Thanks so much to the staff member Italo and to the other lovely girl who made us breakfast.

Very nice chill place, amazing staff, great location, breakfast is not that large but good. Really recommended!

Such a nice place to be, however it was lacking some atmosphere, maybe just unlucky timing. Didn’t matter much since the staff there are super kind - I got a ton of good info from the reception for different trips to take and they made me feel very welcome. Very clean and good facilities to use. I would recommend the place.

Helpful staff, some of them spoke english. They have good recommendations regarding restaurants, activities and shuttles

Really nice and calm place ! Host very nice and helpful. I recommend this hostel especially if you want some calm.
