CU Again Hostel

The hovel calling itself 'CU Again Hostel is the most filthy, squalid and cramped place I have ever stayed in. At check-in (demanded only after 7pm) I was told I could have 'any upgraded room'. This was not an upgrade at all. The man apparently acting as the 'manager' wanted me to vacate and change rooms for the following day so that he could have access for an unspecified reason. First night's room had no hot water. I was refused bedding by the manager for the 2nd night. Never stay here.

The owner is nice but the place isn't that nice :)

The property was not good at all. It was on the fourth floor of a crazy bazaar of a building with so much foot traffic and persons vending and pushing all kinds of items on you at the bottom floor. The room, private room with private bathroom, was disgusting. It was like a jail cell. The shower/toilet combo was so wet and gross, I was afraid to enter. I stopped my stay after the first night even though I had booked it for four nights, but the proprietor would not refund me at all.

I guess it all comes down to value for money, and I don’t know the Hong Kong market well enough to judge. But I regret not finding a better hostel. The dorm I was in had two standard bunks (4 beds) but also two narrow camp beds squeezed between them and a third camp bed in the room’s remaining space. All occupied. No lockers. No sitting room. Dilapidated beds and decor. Was unsure the guy who took my cash actually worked there - in fact I got an email from the hostel to say I hadn’t checke...

1 - I had a certain expectation based on the original 8.5 review score that I saw, and this place was the worst of any 8.5 I have ever stayed in. 2 - At check-in, the manager claimed that I had only given him 853, not 953, and I had to walk him through all my currency exchanges and transactions since arriving at the airport to satisfy him. 3 - Manager moved my things to a back room WITHOUT EMAILING ME, thus creating confusion when I returned that night. 4 - Felt unsafe.

Sh****le, the guy at the reception is funny but he tries to overcharge and force you to earlier checkout. Furthermore the bathrooms have neither toilet paper nor water guns. The linens consists of holes

As advised, it’s cheap for a reason. It’s extremely hard to find. When I checked in I was expecting to be taken to the 6 person dorm I had booked. No, I was taken through multiple rooms with unlocked doors where I was expected to sleep on a tiny bed while there was a rodent in the room on the floor/room left unlocked. Très bon endroit, proche de métro et bons restaurants. Le patron est un vrai oncle.

Great location, so many restaurants of good quality for affordable price around the hotel. 1 min from the metro line that brings you to Central. The staff is more than helpful and treat me like my real uncle.

If you are looking for a cheap place on Kowloon side and would like to experience the famous Chungking Mansions then this is recommended. You need to know the following... Check-in is at black A, third floor. Do NOT go anywhere else! Names of hostels here can change at any time. If you are more than 6 feet tall you may feel a bit cramped in the bed. You may need whatsapp to contact the staff if they are not at the check-in desk. Key deposit is HK$100

Ten stars for the very kind owner. It’s not in a new building and it isn’t luxurious, but it’s a great value for the money in Hong Kong’s crazy rental market. Keep to the elevators (unless you have a taste for adventure), as the stairs in these old buildings are full of fun surprises.

Good hostel. Good price. Room was very clean and tidy. Location was the best part about it. Will definitely stay here again. Owner of the hostel was very nice and kept, would check up occasionally to see if everything was ok. Great service!!

Substandard room and terrible staff management and charging more than what hostworls booking I was allowed. I am making a formal complaint and ask for refund and compensation.

This room was good and the Chinese man who runs it was gracious enough to meet me very late at night. In this particular complex i have heard the hostels rooms are cheap but so bad. This room was inexpensive but very nice. The atmosphere that i gave it a lower rating for does not relate to the room or the owner just the complex it is in. If you are looking for something inexpensive and a comfortable room i recommend this place.
