HOSTEL CASA MAGUEY

The only positive here was the location. The rooms were dirty, without windows, curtains, lights, or lockers. The bathroom was filthy, and shower water flowed into the toilet area. Most staff were friendly, but the older woman (possibly the manager) was rude and arrogant. The ad promised a ‘home-like’ vibe, but I felt the opposite. The hostel looked nothing like the photos – everything was old and unclean. Very disappointing and far from what was advertised.

Loved this hostel!! It was a really nice space and had a great terrace. The staff were all super helpful. There are also lots of great affordable activities and tours organised through the hostel.

Gut: Lage, nah am Bustermina, ruhig. Schlecht: Personal war nicht sonderlich freundlich, Frühstück ist ein Witz (wässriger Kaffee mit Marmeladen-Toast), Frauen-Mehrbettzimmer glich einem Bunker (nur eine Deckenlampe, kein Fenster, keine Vorhänge, keine Schließfächer im Raum, kein Licht am Bett), Räume wirken sehr lieblos und vernachlässigt, Sauberkeit kann besser sein, unsere Dusche war verstopft. Internet total schlecht. Leider können wir das Hostel nicht empfehlen!

Hostel proche de la station Ado. Nous y avons passés plusieurs jours et nous sommes senti comme à la maison 🤗 la gérante et son équipe son vraiment adorable ! Et de très bons conseils. Je recommande

The hostel was close to the bus station, which was nice. Staff was helpful, and called me a taxi for early the next morning. There was no air conditioning (didn't both me a ton, but it did get rather humid), and no top sheet. Overall, helpful location for my last night in Oaxaca since I didn't want to walk further into town, but I would not return. The tlayudas spot 2 minutes away is great though, and open until late!

Great wifi to work and fun ambience! I really recommend this place, good prices and great location, I liked the salsa class in the terrace and variety of mezcals.

Nice hotel, very clean and friendly staff, location was very convenient to get walking to bars and restaurants. Recommended 👍🏽

El hotel está muy bien ubicado a unas cuadras del terminal de autobuses ADO, de un parque grande con mucha vida y comida callejera y también al lado del hermoso barrio de jalatlaco! El staff es muy amable y te dan mucha información sobre lo que hay que ver/hacer en Oaxaca y siempre atentos! El wifi es muy bueno en todas las áreas del hotel y también en mi habitación llegaba con fuerza! Cuando regresaré a Oaxaca, volveré al hotel Casa Maguey!

location was perfect, the staff was very helpful and terrace with several activities, next time in Oaxaca I will be staying here. Thank you guys

The place is noisy, not very clean and most "guests" are volunteers that live there. As a result, one has the feeling of being an outsider and it can be tricky to have access to the kitchen or to the living room without feeling you are disturbing the people that live there. I was at first charged way more than expected because the deposit in HW was not registered. Only after I insisted, the miss-understanding was cleared and I got my money back.

Good location, but different to the photos.The place needs a bit of love. The beds arent comfortable and its quite loud at night. The owner was lovely though

My stay was really good, the staff super friendly, super location and the breakfast is light but it's ready very early in the morning so I was able to take breakfast before my tour. Super recommended!

Super well located, clean rooms, fair prices, friendly staff always happy to help and give advice about interesting points and what to eat and see in Oaxaca. You definitely must to try
