Life for Life Hostel Drake Bay

The location is absolutely beautiful, but very remote. I felt that they take advantage of the fact that it's hard to reach and they ask money for every little thing. Plus the food at the restaurant is very expensive.

Rodrigo was great, always really helpful. Worth noting the boat from Sierpe to the hostel is $30 each way (instead of the usual $20 to Drake Bay) which stung us a little. Beautiful isolated hostel, you pay for the unique experience and the stunning desolate beaches - some nice hiking around. Breakfast included made a real difference, great food at the restaurant. Tents are really nice, comfy beds!

Die Lage des Hostels ist super! Man kann Ara Papageien und Affen, Nasenbären etc. auf dem Weg zum Strand entdecken. Traumhaft schön! Man sollte jedoch entweder genug Essen zum Kochen mitbringen (wobei auch die Nutzung der Küche 3$ pro Tag kostet) oder muss sich darauf einstellen pro Mahlzeit um die 18$ zu zahlen. Auch viel Bargeld sollte man dabiehaben, da sonst immer 13% Steuern berechnet werden. Insgesamt sollte man aufpassen, dass nicht zu viel berechnet wird.

Fantastische locatie. bijna in het nationale park, veel vogels en bijna alle dagen Capucin monkeys op het terrein. bij het strand veel scarlet macaws (rode ara's). Natasha en Derrick zijn heel aardig. De eigenaren en familie wonen er ook. Het was verder heel rustig. Eten is er goed, wel duur.

The most amazing hostel I have ever stayed at. We kept extending our time there because it was so incredible. The location is unreal with beautiful sunsets every night. The staff and hostel owners are so lovely and helpful. The facilities were kept very clean and if you choose to buy the food there it is delicious. There are some trails nearby that are nice to explore or just chilling in the hammocks is a vibe.

Ik heb een heerlijke tijd gehad bij Life for Life hostel. De omgeving is prachtig en het personeel is super vriendelijk en doet er alles aan om het naar je zin te maken. Alles is basic, maar voldoet aan wat je nodig hebt. De bedden in de tent zijn erg comfortabel en er is stroom en een ventilator. Er waren weinig andere reizigers toen ik er verbleef, maar het personeel is altijd in voor een praatje. Je moet jezelf wel kunnen vermaken en houden van rust. Eten en drinken is goed, wel prijzig.

Ich hatte eine super schöne und ruhige Zeit hier 😊! Die Umgebung war wirklich paradiesisch. Im Garten des Hostels konnte man zahlreiche Tiere (Tukane, Affen, Nasenbären, Papageien uvm.) beobachten und die Sonnenuntergänge am Strand sehr schön. Das Essen war sehr abwechslungsreich und super lecker. Ich kann’s nur weiterempfehlen 😊!

Life4Life Hostel is such a beautiful place! The atmosphere is super relaxed and everything feels really cozy and welcoming. The food was delicious and the smoothies were apsolutely amazing. Just keep in mind that the supermarked isn‘t super close, so bring your own groceries if you plan to cook. The people are super nice and friendly. Definitely a place I‘d return to!!

Beautiful beaches, very far from town...if you want a remote vacation this is a great place

Was honestly one of the best hostels I stayed in. Such a different experience than most hostels. Location is 10/10. It feels like you have a private beach. Very local, not many ppl. Staff is super friendly, all locals. Rooms are very basic but didn’t bother me because it’s all part of the overall experience of this hostel; very pure, warm and not touristy at all. The owner gives very nice tours. I would 100% go back.

Amazing. I spent 10 nights here, simply could not get myself to leave earlier. The nature and animals, the proximity to the beach, the staff and the overall vibe made this a place close to my heart. Accommodation is simple but has everything you need, and for the price you can’t complain! The only “downside” is that the food at the hostel is quite expensive and the closest supermarket is 1,5 hours away, so make sure to bring enough food if you want to cook by yourself.

Great people, wonderful place to be, everybody is very helpful and kind. We stayed 4 night could more.

Einfaches Hostel in einer unfassbar schönen Umgebung!

Un lieu magique. Très isolé mais il y a de quoi s’occuper avec les magnifiques plages et des balades dans la jungle alentour. Le personnel est adorable, les lieux sont vraiment propres et confortables, et la nature incroyable.

I loved this place! The wonderful people running it are so welcoming and I had a lovely time exploring the area based on their recommendations. It’s not for everyone as it’s a proper jungle hostel experience. But from arriving on the beach from the boat to floating down the Rio Claro I loved it all. Sunset from the hammocks was a definite highlight too

We (family of 5) had a fantastic stay. Rodrigo and team are professional, enthusiastic and friendly. Restaurant food was tasty and plentiful. Guest kitchen was well-equipped and clean. Accommodation is basic and clean: good sheets, towels and fans. Location is fantastic. Steps from the beach where jungle meets the sea. Lots of wildlife moving through the site. Riccardo, who founded the place, remains involved. We’d happily take his Rio Claro tour again. We’d also happily stay here a...

This place is a gem of Costa Rica, paradise on earth. The location and accommodation is incredible, the value for money of this hostel is through the roof. A special shout out to all the team there that makes this place even more magical, it's the nicest staff I met travelling, each and every one of them are so special in their unique way (Rodrigo keep on being awesome man, your smile and humour will be unforgettable)

This was definitely my favorite place to stay on my Costa Rica trip. The location is unbeatable, just steps away from the beach with incredible views. The rooms are cozy and the food is delicious. Ricardo and the whole team made me feel very welcome and they are very helpful with arranging tours and giving out information. It‘s the perfect spot to unwind, meet great people and soak in the natural beauty. I wish I could‘ve stayed there for longer. Highly recommend!!

Absolutely amazing place to stay!! It seems intimidating travel wise with the remoteness and the boat trip, and I was a bit scared at first to do it but it was so easy!! As soon as I got to the boats in Sierpe the captain came and talked to me and helped me with everything. When you arrive at the island, staff from the hotel will bring you to the hostel. It is a beautiful commune right on one of the best beaches I’ve ever been. The jungle is full of wildlife and the restaurant is delicious!!! ...
