Place is dirty, unorganised and without a soul Staff was not very helpful and was visibly intoxicated Bathrooms were disgusting - probably hadn’t been cleaned for WEEKS Definitely don’t go there!!!!

I booked one bed in a Standard 6-Bed Mixed Dorm at Banana Bungalow West Hollywood Hotel & Hostel and was extremely disappointed. The room had no AC, an open beer bottle, and trash on the floor. Even worse, the sheets had a crusty substance and did not feel clean. Needless to say, the place did not feel sanitary, and I chose not to stay the night. I do not recommend this hostel based on my experience.

Smelled nasty, everything was sticky, no curtains, no soap in the bathroom

After I left, an unauthorized charge of $10 was made to my card. Other than that, it's a good place to stay.

It's like a homeless shelter. Save your self the mental breakdown.

Firstly, I’ve noticed that many of the reviews appear to be fabricated. For example, a user named "rahimwilliams1239611" consistently leaves glowing reviews every month. Moreover, my recent experience at this hostel was very disappointing. The conditions were unsanitary, with cockroaches present throughout the facility. It resembled a homeless shelter, and the overall atmosphere was unpleasant, with a strong smell of weed. Additionally, the lockers provided were too small.

I stayed here on 2 different occasions, and i was dissapointed. It states that the hostel has air conditioning and yet they close it at night so it ended up being 30 degrees in our rooms. Showers are insufficient. I dont recommend

3 lockers to 6 beds? Slept with my luggage I didn’t feel safe. Place was so run down. Hot as hell even if it had central a/c. One staff member was nice. That’s what’s making up for the stars. Literally that’s it. Way over priced. Flys in fridge. Food I had went bad. Nervous the bunks had bedbugs. Even the “clean” towel given to me looked dirty. 1 bathroom to 6 females and it was so gross. Never ever again.

Really dirty roaches in multiple rooms I’ve seen them in the bathroom and different peoples rooms the front door doesn’t lock all the way so if you pull hard enough you will get in without the code breakfast was pretty bad some days you just wouldn’t get it the stoves and fridges are dirty and after party’s sometimes the workers don’t clean up you can literally sit on a chair outside stain your cloths

Would not recommend!! The crowd is primarily older, late 30s / 40s and on drugs. Tiny lockers and there was no room for my luggage because the people in my room were living there full-time. The room and all my clothes smelled like smoke after. The men were all really creepy and I was woken up 5+ in the night by multiple 5 minute alarms, full volume podcasts at 3am, and really drunk women in my room (apparently the drinks are free so that’s the crowd). Avoid unless old drug addicts are ur thing

My boyfriend and I rented the private double room with attached bath for one night and it worked out great. Definitely worth it over a hotel!

This wasn’t the room that was advertised or shown in photos. Then I unfortunately had to add a night due to a change in departure and they charged me $129. That’s $30 more for a Sunday night. There was a heatwave, no AC. Just a fan bolted to the wall that couldn’t be adjusted. Only friendly people were housekeeping staff. No one at check in said anything about the hostel. And the app for meetups with other guests required a paid subscription. Super lame. Super sucked.

I love the Banana Bungalow. So old school LA, classic architecture with FUNK. Great staff and guests plus free underground parking. The area around is such historic LA with Canters, graffiti, and excellent thrift stores as well as super close to LACMA. I highly recommend it for a truly story worthy, affordable Los Angeles trip.

First time staying at a Hostel & truly blown away! We stayed in a private suite & it was super cozy! We had our on private bathroom, the water pressure was delightful & the water was HOT! We also had a tv, decent size mini fridge, 1 side table, a small table with 2 chairs, a bunk bed, a full/queen size bed & of course a beautiful balcony! We checked in around 9 pm and the staff was kind! The hostel had a karaoke party with vegan patties too!Met super cool people and made memories for a lifetime!

Fun place with lots of activities.

Hello Have stayed at multiple hostels , but this one is just average Location is great for sure But the AC in room was not working , the had a fan in the room , for that price don’t think we expect a fan Thankyou

I loved staying here. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and I enjoyed the free breakfast. I would reccomend and would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much

It was a short stay came late night and checked out early morning. The staff Jeff was good to explain me everything in the hostel. Breakfast was good and place was neat and clean .

Banana Bungalow offers so much for such little price! Parking available , the staff is over the top nice! Jude is a party event host and rocks it. Managed by friendly and young people and clean , great breakfast and weekly events . My favorite place, can’t wait to return

Super clean and great location. The staff was friendly, not really events happening at the hostel to motivate people socialise.

I liked the in suite bathroom and there was plenty of lounge space + a cool outdoor lounge, which was nice. Lockers in the room were way too small for a backpack or luggage, although would be fine to leave just the stuff you're worried about in. I just left my luggage under my bed and carried my backpack during the day -- probably would've been less happy with a top bunk. Seems like they had some fun social events going on, I didn't have the chance to attend though!

The room was comfortable with a private bathroom and great social atmosphere. They had a karaoke night with free burgers which brought everyone together.

Amazing hostel with incredibly warm and receptive staff. Definitely a must-stay with free breakfast daily and barbecue with drinks on the weekends. Cannot recommend this place enough as I met some life-long friends here.
