It’s a sham. All the areas you see advertised that look lovely near the water are actually part of the restaurant not the hostel. When the restaurant is full you are NOT allowed to sit in these nice areas so I had to have my dinner in the tiny “common area” which is just a table and chairs in a kitchenette. Feels like the hostel is an afterthought. Needed medical help in the morning due to an injury I picked up in the hostel and there was no staff on site for 3 hours so I was really lackin...
+ Balkon gut zum Entspannen und das Essen im Restaurant war sehr gut.
- Aufgrund des Festivals konnte man nachts leider kein Auge zumachen. Die Musik dröhnte bis 5 Uhr früh durchgängig. Leider gar keine Reaktion des Rezeptions-Teams auf meine Beschwerde.
La chambre est très grande et fonctionnelle avec des grands casiers, un réfrigérateur et une salle de bain privée et également climatisation et ventilateur. Le seul point négatif est l’espace cuisine qui se situe à l’extérieur de l’hostel avec très peu d’équipements.
The room is very large and functional with large lockers, a refrigerator and a private bathroom and also air conditioning and ventilation.The only negative point is the kitchen area which is located outside the hostel with very little equipment.
+ Die Lage des Hostels ist super. Die Einrichtung ist schlicht, aber ansprechend. Die Mitarbeiter sprechen sehr gutes Englisch und es war auch immer ein Ansprechpartner da. Leider hatten wir das Budget Doppelzimmer. Die Türe ließ sich nur mit sanfter Gewalt schließen, die Größe des Zimmers entspricht eher einer Abstellkammer. Die Wand zum Gemeinschaftsbad und -küche schließt leider nicht richtig ab. Das heißt es war ALLES zu hören. Jeden Morgen macht sich ein Mitarbeiter um halb 5 sein Müsli,... Am 3. Tag ist dann auch das untere Bett eingebrochen...
It’s nice, but I was woken up by animals and/or bugs living in the walls. Also cockroach in the shower
+ Leider erfuhren wir erst wenige Tage vorab, dass die Anreise zur Unterkunft nur per Boot zu wenigen, festen Zeiten gegen Bargeld möglich war. Es wäre sehr hilfreich gewesen, stünde diese Information direkt in der Beschreibung. Außerdem war in der Küchenausstattung leider noch viel Luft nach oben. Zudem fühlte man sich in der offenen Küche wie auf dem Präsentierteller, da sie direkt neben dem Restaurant vor Ort platziert war. Das Zimmer war ansonsten gut.
+ Das Hostel ist sehr sauber und die Mitarbeitenden sind freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Einrichtung ist schlicht aber ansprechend. Die Klimanlage war super, wenn auch die Kälte im Raum sehr ungleich verteilt wurde. Wir haben zwei Touren gebucht und hatten beides Mal gute Guides.
- Wir haben kurzfristig gebucht und nur noch das Budget-Doppelzimmer bekommen. Hier würde ich nicht noch einmal schlafen. Das Fenster geht zur Straße und es ist bis spät Abends und ab dem frühen Morgen laut. Das Zimmer hat die Größe einer Abstellkammer und wir hatten Mühe Platz für unsere Gepäck zu finden und uns dort zu zweit aufzuhalten. Es gibt keine Haken oder ähnliches, um z.B. nasse Handtücher aufzuhängen. Die Wand zum geteilten Badezimmer schließt an der Decke nicht vollständig ab, so dass wir alle Geräusche und Gerüche auch in unserem Zimmer mitbekommen haben.
the room and bathroom were nice with air conditionning. the hostel is well located with a nice restaurant nearby. but the commons areas are really nice. just a couple of chairs. on the photos you only sea the tables and chair of the restaurant that you cant use if you dont order anything. the kitchen is not really convenient. you have to cook in one of the kitchen of the restaurant
nice hostel, but there was no shared room where to meet fellow travellers so it isn't the best place to socialize. Also there was a raging noise going on of which I first thought it was the airco but it came from somewhere up the roof. When a roomie left, housekeeping asked us to take off her bed? asking us how many beds are empty, felt like they had no registration about their guests. rooms could lock but the lock was extremely difficult to lock.

+ Todo perfecto, buena ubicación con bonitas vista al rio,personal adorable, todo bastante nuevo y moderno y café a disposición :)
+ Estaba limpio. Cerca del río Tiene refri para poder poner algunos alimentos. También para lavar los trastes. Hay agua caliente.
- Sólo que, la recepción no es 24/7 y tuve que esperar dos horas adecuadas que abrieran para asignarme la habitación.

- Les horaires de la réception sont assez limitées, il est parfois compliqué de trouver quelqu'un, même si le restaurant voisin peut aider
The dorms were really nice, with enough space and lockers, a private bathroom and a small kitchen. The patio at the lakeside was really cozy!!!
+ Me encantó el lugar, tortuguero es hermoso y está hostal es agradable. Está situada junto al canal, la pieza de 4 personas está excelente, muy cómoda con aire acondicionado, todo super limpio y además tiene refigerardor y cositas de cocina en la pieza. Tiene un balcón grande para descansar y para preparar café . Además al lado está el restaurante, un increíble lugar para ver el atardecer y comer algo . Quiero agradecer al staff dde meseras del restaurante por ser tan amables conmigo, fueron super buenas anfitrionas , me presentaron a la iguana harry, me dieron datos y me hicieron sentir como en cada. También contarte kayak y estuvo bonito

Eine wirklich gut Unterkunft. Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis für die Dorms und dazu AC und alles sehr sauber. Netter Aufenthaltsbereich mit Hängematten und Küche draußen. Sehr ruhig und nicht das typische soziale Hostel, aber für den kleinen Ort in der Natur perfekt.
+ Tout était parfait! Et la vue du restaurant aussi! Vraiment magnifique ! Les employés sont sympathie. Tout est très propre!
I did enjoy my stay in Tortuguero. The room is really nice but I don‘t understand the situation with the kitchen split up in 3 parts (Room, balcony and the actual kitchen). Not really a social Hostel cause there is not that big of a social space. Still nice though

Wunderschön gelegenes Hostel mit toller Atmosphäre. Absolute Empfehlung, wenn man auf Tortuguero ist. Wir haben am zweiten Tag eine Kayaktour mit CRT Tour Tortuguero und dem Guide Warren gemacht. Die Tour startet um 06:00 Uhr, nur ca. 3 min vom Hostel entfernt und war unser Highlight.
We had a kayak tour with CRT Tour Tortuguero and the Guide Warren on the second day. The tour starts at 06:00 Uhr, only about 3 minutes away from the Hostel and was our highlight.

+ Loved every thing about it. The room, the ventilation in the room and the a/c, having some of the kitchen equipment in the room as a fridge. Getting the housekeeping service everyday. It's really a lovely hostel with an amazing and relaxed vibe. I enjoyed my time relaxing by the hammocks hearing the sweet sound of the birds singing.
- I would only add the breakfast service, nada mas!
Unbeatable location! View across the canal from the terrace (with hammocks). There is a nice restaurant right next to the hostel. Also great to have some coffee with a view. Room was basic but clean and had its own bathroom. Not much of a social vibe when I was there but I had a pleasant stay!
